The Young Urban Doctor

Chapter 77 Motherhood

"Are you a medical student?" The message came from a WeChat friend named "Fangfei Jin."

This person had added him, but they hadn't exchanged many messages; however, Luo Ziling always felt this person was somewhat strange and might even be someone he knew.

Somehow, he thought of Ouyang Feifei.

Perhaps it was because both names had the character "Fei" in them!

After some thought, Luo Ziling replied with a message, "Yeah! Are you a student too?"

He didn't expect an immediate reply and continued to check other messages.

Surprisingly, a message from "Fangfei Jin" came back quickly.

"Can I ask you for medical advice in the future?"

"Sure," Luo Ziling readily agreed, "the little master here has been studying medicine with my grandpa since I was a child, my skills are quite exquisite."

The response from "Fangfei Jin," however, was a series of vomiting emojis.

This left Luo Ziling rather frustrated. After some thought, he replied, "If you don't believe it, forget it."

The other side didn't reply again, and Luo Ziling didn't bother her anymore.

When he opened the last message, Luo Ziling was surprised to find that it was from a WeChat friend named "Wuyue."

"How have you been finding the military training these days? Must be tiring, right?"

Luo Ziling quickly replied, "Not bad, I'm strong and don't get tired. I took leave this afternoon."

"Why did you take leave?" The reply came back immediately.

"Someone came to see me for a consultation, so I took leave."

"You know how to treat patients?" The other side seemed quite interested, the reply almost instantaneous.

"Yeah, my grandpa is a pretty famous traditional Chinese medicine practitioner. I've been studying medicine under him since I was a child; I have the true transmission of my grandpa." Luo Ziling sent the message with a face full of pride.

"You're amazing. Your grandfather must be proud of you," the reply came promptly with several clapping emojis.

Luo Ziling only sent back an emoji.

"Are you not happy today?" Just when Luo Ziling thought the other person wouldn't reply anymore, a message quickly arrived.

After some thought, Luo Ziling couldn't help but ask the other person a question, "What would you think if you knew your mom was right beside you, but she didn't want to see you?"

Luo Ziling didn't expect that his somewhat abrupt question would actually make the woman on the other end cry.

"Miss, what's wrong?" Seeing her young lady staring at the phone screen, sobbing uncontrollably, Wuyue, who was quietly standing by, was startled and quickly stepped forward to ask softly, "Is it…"

She couldn't finish her sentence because she had already seen the message on the phone screen.

Wuyue was taken aback and felt a bit helpless.

Seeing her young lady crying so heartily, an emotional loss of control she had never experienced before, she quickly pulled out a tissue and handed it over.

"Miss, has he guessed it's you?" she asked softly as she handed over the tissue.

Ling Ruonan took the tissue and wiped her tears, but she couldn't clear the tears from her eyes no matter how she wiped.

She was unable to control her emotions, and hot tears kept rolling down.

Wuyue thought for a moment, took her phone, and replied to the message, "Why would you ask such a question?"

The WeChat notification sound immediately chimed in. When she opened the message, she saw it read, "I haven't seen my mother since I was little. Today, someone told me that my mom is right beside me. But she hasn't come to see me, and I don't know why."

After reading the message, Wuyue silently put the phone down in front of Ling Ruonan.

Ling Ruonan, wiping away her tears, cried even harder after seeing the message.

To keep from sobbing aloud, she desperately covered her mouth.

After a while, she bit her lip and replied to the message, "Does your mom still care about you?"

"Seems like it, she knows everything about me, but I don't know where she is." This message was followed by a few crazed emojis.

"If your mom cares about what happens to you, it proves she loves you very much. You haven't seen her since you were little, definitely because of some misfortune. She hasn't come to see you now; it must not be out of unwillingness, but because she has no other choice due to some pressing difficulties."

After hitting send, Ling Ruonan's tears kept streaming down, her eyes already red.

"Ah, I hope it's as you say." The phone screen already flashed a new message.

Then another message came, "I was raised by my grandfather since I was little, I don't know where my parents are, and I feel really pitiful. Ah, today someone said they'd make me cry for my parents, but I don't even know where they are, how can I cry for them?"

These words hit Ling Ruonan's emotional nerve again, causing her tears to roll down once more, her tissue in hand already soaked through.

"In the future, you'll definitely meet your dad and mom, I can assure you." She covered her mouth and single-handedly typed a message back, "Nobody can make you cry like that, because they don't have the power to."

"Hopefully!" Three words popped up on the phone.

Then another message followed, "I feel a bit better after talking to you."

"If you have anything that's troubling you later on, you can talk to me, I'm willing to be a good listener." Ling Ruonan quickly typed back a message and added a hugging emoji at the end.

How much she wanted to hug the little man she was chatting with!

All these years, countless dreams were of her holding this little man.

Although she had not seen him for so many years, her computer stored pictures of him growing up. Every time she saw these photos sent by Luo Liansheng, she would hide away by herself and cry.

"But I don't know you!" Luo Ziling's message quickly came back.

"Aren't we just getting to know each other now? In the virtual network, one can also make sincere friends." Sending this message, Ling Ruonan felt a bit nervous inside, fearing that Luo Ziling would not want to be friends with her, not wanting to share his feelings with her.

"Alright, if I have anything upsetting me in the future, I'll talk to you about it, but you mustn't laugh at me."

"How could I laugh at you? I am very happy that you're willing to share your thoughts with me, I take pride in gaining someone's trust." It was with tears still in her eyes that Ling Ruonan smiled as she sent the message.

"My mom is actually very pretty," after a while, Luo Ziling's message came through again.

There was a rephotographed picture attached at the end of the message.

Following the picture, there was another message, "This is a photo of my mom when she was young, doesn't she look beautiful?"

Several proud emojis followed.

Seeing this picture, Ling Ruonan couldn't control her emotions once more and burst into tears.

He was actually proud of her beauty.

"It's a pity I only have this one picture of her, and I don't know if she has aged or become less attractive now. I truly hope she stays this beautiful forever. I also wonder if, when we meet one day, I'll be afraid to call her mom, thinking she's just my sister. Wouldn't that be interesting? Seeing my mom, but feeling she's too young and pretty to recognize, isn't that funny?"

This message completely overwhelmed Ling Ruonan's emotions, and she buried her face in her hands, sobbing uncontrollably on the desk.
