"Ahh, that was so good! What should we do next?" Inquired Celia, patting her stomach with a content smile.
"Hm, it looks like it's going to start raining soon, so maybe we should head home?" Suggested Raven, as he stared up at the sky.
About six months had passed since the Multiverse Tournament. Raven and Celia had taken a day off and were currently out on a date, it was around the middle of the day.
They'd just had lunch after attending a theater to watch a play, and were strolling through the streets, feeling nice and relaxed.
After the tournament, a fair bit had happened.
The three nations of Persona, Sylph and Anima had discussed what to do with the Death Zone, since the Miasma had completely faded away by this point.
The land had become quite fertile thanks to all the corpses that had once made up the Undead King's army, and the nations decided to set up an independent trade zone, with merchants and businesses from all three nations.
There had been the concern of the Demon nation of Vilia, so the allied nations had met with the current Demon Lord to discuss where they stood.
The Demons' stance was essentially neutral, they had no interest in forming alliances with the other nations, but they were open to a non-aggression pact, a simple 'leave us alone and we'll leave you alone' deal.
It went a lot more smoothly than anticipated.
Things had been peaceful as of late, the Monster populations had been kept well in check, and the alliance was proceeding smoothly.
The quality of life in all three nations had been steadily improving thanks to the trade agreements and sharing of resources, no conflict or threats loomed on the horizon.
"It's kinda weird, huh...we got so used to things constantly going wrong, but now, it really feels like we've achieved a peace that'll last, you know what I mean?" Smiled Celia, as the pair made their way home.
"Yeah, I think I do. Maybe it's just because I finally look human and feel more comfortable in my own skin again, but yeah, that paranoia I always felt whenever nothing happened for a few months, I'm not feeling that right now," Raven nodded in agreement.
"To be fair, that paranoia always ended up being justified. Our revolt against the former King and his forces, the Undead King, Leptar, the Animoid supremacists in Anima, and then the Multiverse Tournament. Well, I wasn't there for the Anima thing, but still."
"Yeah, a lot has happened...and as things stand in the present, I have no regrets," Smiled Raven, as their apartment came into sight.
They entered the building and made their way up to their door, unlocking and stepping inside, before shutting the door behind them.
The pair made their way to the bedroom, Celia flopping onto the bed and rolling over as Raven laid down beside her.
She then rolled on top of him, booping her nose against his before giving him a soft kiss, placing her forehead against his as she caressed his cheek.
"I know I've said this before, but...you're the best thing that's ever happened to me, Celia," Raven smiled warmly, wrapping his arms around her in an affectionate embrace.
"Well, the feeling's very much mutual. I love you, Raven," She whispered, kissing his cheek before nuzzling his neck.
"Love you too. This is the best, getting to relax with you in my arms, without a care in the world. It certainly makes everything we've been through feel worth it, for this moment right now," He replied, as he gently stroked her hair.
"I couldn't agree more. Oh, yeah, I wonder how the others are doing? We haven't seen them in a few weeks," Mused Celia thoughtfully.
"Well, I'm sure Tacitus is slacking off every chance he gets, while Aster runs himself ragged trying to keep him busy. Bet he's sneaking off to the Capital to see the Commander pretty often too," Surmised Raven wryly.
"Heh, yeah, I can definitely see that. Ravella was a lot more cheerful and upbeat the last time we saw her, hope that's continuing. She was pretty bummed for a while after the whole thing with Aster, after all."
"I'm sure she'll be fine, knowing her and how strong she is. As for Colt and Lexia...it's probably the same routine, Colt annoying her while she holds herself back from lashing out since that's exactly what he wants. They should just start dating already," Chuckled Raven.
"Agreed. Lexia looks more and more easily flustered around him every time we see them, she does her best to hide it, but she isn't the most convincing. As for my brother...I'm really not sure. He's very self-aware of how messed up he is, so I doubt he's ever actually seriously considered a genuine romance, so I'm not totally sure how he'd react if, say, Lexia confessed to him or something," Replied Celia uncertainly.
"That's pretty hard to imagine, Lexia isn't exactly the most open and honest when it comes to her emotions."
"True, but she can only bottle it in for so long, you know. Something's gotta give, sooner or later."
"That should be pretty interesting to see, if and when it does happen. So, anyway...what should we do for the rest of the day? We should make the most of our day off, after all," Pointed out Raven.
"Yeah, no objections here. I can think of a few things we can do," She smirked seductively, as she traced her fingertips down the side of Raven's neck, before adding as she leaned in and whispered into his ear, "For instance, you could do anything and everything you want to do to me, and vice-versa, of course. Let's use our imaginations to their fullest. What do you say?"
"Yes. There's no universe in which I give a different answer to that question," Stated Raven without hesitation, cupping her cheek before pressing his lips against hers...
