At the king's silent command, the frost beings surged into motion. The vanguard, clad in crystal-forged armor that shimmered with biting light, charged forward with brutal precision. Spears of solid ice and blades carved from frozen essence glinted as they rushed to strike. From behind, others unleashed waves of frost energy, their attacks weaving together in perfect synchronization. The ground trembled as their power converged, forming a vast, radiant formation — a frozen domain pulsing with lethal energy. Within its boundaries, the air thickened with cold fury, and every frost attack grew sharper, faster, and infinitely deadlier.
Kael under his coat, disappeared from the attacks near him.
"Those in rank 4 should attack." The king's cold voice resounded again.
Those at Rank 4 — the Master Realm warriors — launched their assaults with deadly precision. But their strikes met only air. Their targets, or rather Kaels, were nothing but afterimages blurring through the frozen battlefield. Kael's movements had become so swift and erratic that even the frost beings' enhanced senses couldn't lock onto him. Each swing, each blast of frost energy sliced through his fading silhouettes. Within their own domain, they were supposed to be supreme — yet Kael danced through their attacks like a phantom wrapped in yellow lightning.
Frost slowly crept across his cloak, ice crystals forming at the edges as the temperature plummeted even further. Still, his focus didn't waver. Augustus, he called through the system link, his mind calm amidst the chaos. Run a deep scan — I can feel it… the fragment is here somewhere.
A mechanical chime echoed in his head, and Kael smirked faintly. The hunt had just begun.
While he was fighting, he couldn't help but think of the other cultivators that entered the land. Those apprentices of divine beings will have system. Yep, even if it's not as perfect as his. To be able to create a perfect system as his, you need to be a god. If that's the case, then Zulek, who is not a god, how did he create it? According to what he knew, Zulek has creation energy, he got an origin orb when the primordial land of chaos appeared in their galaxy. He met a metacorp, so with all this variables, he could create a perfect system like this. Kael suddenly felt happy he was used as a test or else Augustus won't know many things about Zulek and how to escape. He had fooled that old tyrant for 700 years making him think he was eager to escape. 'Heh. I just wish the time warp gauntlet is still working.'
Back to people fighting with him. He actually don't have ill intentions, but the butterfly effect of other races and previous humans that have came here is what caused this skirmish.
[Found it. It is used as the base of a formation they are activating soon. A trapping and power stripping inscriptions. It activating in 1 second.]
"Damn." He then disappeared and appeared at the back of the king then gave him a kick. Although the sudden kick caught the king unaware, he still blocked it. In that milliseconds, frost warriors had appeared before Kael, attacking him.
Kael immediately performed a back flip appearing at some distance away from them. But that was futile as ice spikes appeared under him. With is fast reaction, he jumped up. But......[Seems it's been awhile you had a worthwhile fight. You have underestimated frost energy.] As Augustus finished what it was saying, the floating frost flakes in the air that touch Kael, suddenly start to freeze. Immediately more touched and before he knew he was almost frozen fully. Then a frost flake suddenly started spinning very fast that it cut through the wind and moved swiftly towards Kael's neck. Kael tried to teleport but he found out the space was freezed too. With no option, he utilised speedforce. The sparks appearing on his body touched the incoming killing flake and changed the trajectory. During the time of struggle, the frost beings had appeared with their attacks. At that instant, the frozen ice around Kael broke into pieces. And he dodged the attacks and landed elsewhere gasping for breath.
"Damn, that was close!" He exclaimed.
"Don't let him escape!" The Frost King's voice echoed like cracking glaciers, his command slicing through the frozen air. The frost beings roared in unison — a bone-chilling, inhuman sound — and lunged at Kael. Blades forged from crystalized ice gleamed under the pale frost light as they descended upon him. Kael pivoted sharply, his yellow lightning flashing like a flicker in a storm, parrying the first strike with his forearm. But the sheer cold of the blow sent numbness crawling up his skin. Before he could recover, another warrior spun in from behind, landing a brutal kick that sent him skidding across the icy ground, his boots carving deep trails in the frost.
He barely had time to steady himself before a volley of ice spears rained down from above. Kael zigzagged at breakneck speed, leaving trails of light behind him — but the frost domain was restricting his velocity. Every movement felt slightly slower, every breath colder. One of the spears grazed his shoulder, drawing blood. It froze instantly, glittering crimson shards scattering into the air. "Tch…" Kael gritted his teeth. He launched forward, his body vanishing into a blur, appearing behind one of the frost elites. His punch connected — the sound like thunder — sending the being flying. But as it crashed into a wall of ice, the shards reformed, rebuilding its body. "Regeneration… perfect," Kael muttered.
He spun, blocking two blades with his lightning-charged arms. Sparks flew, hissing against the cold air, but the frost was winning the clash. A warrior cloaked in white mist leapt high, crashing down with a frost hammer that shattered the ice floor and sent Kael sprawling. He rolled, coughing slightly, the impact reverberating through his ribs. His cloak was nearly frozen solid now, crackling as he moved. He tore it off and flung it aside, revealing his glowing chest inscriptions faintly pulsing through the frost. "Alright," he muttered, "you wanna play rough?"
He launched forward again — faster, wilder. His strikes became a storm of blinding light and thunderous blows. Each movement cracked the ground, each punch distorted the air, yet the frost beings adapted instantly. Their formation shifted like living ice, sealing off his routes. A giant frost knight caught him mid-charge, gripping his arm and swinging him violently into the ground. The impact shook the entire domain, fracturing the surface beneath him. Frost dust billowed. Kael tried to rise, but a second knight slammed its heel into his back, forcing him down again.
The air itself turned against him — biting, freezing, cutting through his aura. His speed was waning. His lightning dimmed slightly. Every time he flickered, frost energy traced his movements, locking onto his trajectory. Another strike came, this one a crescent of razor-sharp ice that sliced through his side. Kael groaned and staggered backward, his breathing growing heavier. For every frost being he struck down, three more replaced it. They were relentless, tireless, united by the cold.
A massive frost golem emerged from the rear lines, its body pulsating with runic light. With a deafening roar, it smashed its colossal fist downward. Kael barely dodged — the punch shattered the battlefield and sent waves of freezing wind rippling out. Even Kael's hair froze in streaks of pale white from the chill. He retaliated with a kick infused with lightning, but it barely left a crack on the golem's chest. The golem backhanded him in response, sending him crashing through a wall of frost and into a column of ice. The collision left a crater-shaped imprint, and Kael fell to his knees, coughing out blood that immediately crystallized.
He rose, trembling slightly, his breath fogging the air. "Damn it…" he muttered under his breath. His muscles screamed, his bones ached, yet he refused to fall. Still, the frost beings advanced — their eyes glowing like pale moons, their weapons raised. Kael's movements grew sluggish; his lightning flickered, unstable. An energy spear struck him square in the chest, knocking him backward again. His back slammed against a frozen pillar, cracking it. The sound of his slowed heartbeat echoed in his ears.
Dozens of frost warriors surrounded him now, their domain pulsing brighter. The very space around Kael was collapsing under pressure, frost crawling up his legs like a living entity, locking him in place. He struggled to move, but his strength was slipping. For the first time in a long while, Kael was at a disadvantage — cornered, wounded, and freezing. His lightning dimmed to faint sparks, barely clinging to life. The frost beings raised their weapons for the final strike, their voices merging into a chilling war cry that echoed through the icy expanse.
Kael looked up through his half-frozen lashes, his breath ragged but his eyes still burning faintly with defiance. "Heh…" he whispered, smiling through the pain. "Guess… I needed a wake-up call." Then the frost crashed down.
Still smiling, he said to the hearing of all, "Aren't you missing something?" Immediately an explosion of ice and frost mist happened. Even the frost beings were not spared as some died immediately and some were injured.
