Entrance of the Savannah Mountain Range.
Aaron took out the corpses of the Giant Bear and the Gray Wolf, placing them on the ground. He glanced at the map and noticed that all low-level monsters within 1,000-meter radius had fled.
Relieved, he decided to summon Rumba and his guards
to help transport the monster bodies back to camp.
Half an hour later.
Rumba arrived and stared at the two massive corpses,
his eyes wide with a mix of awe and fear.
The Gray Wolf, even in death, radiated a presence so intense that approaching it felt nearly impossible.
He turned to Aaron. "Lord Aaron, could you help us move the Gray Wolf's body? There's something… it's like I can't even get close to it."
Aaron nodded calmly. "Of course. You carry the Giant Bear."
With that, he casually lifted the Gray Wolf's corpse.
As he walked, he noticed blood dripping from its wounds but when it touched his cloak, the liquid simply slid off, leaving no stain.
Aaron was quietly amazed. "This cloak… it's more impressive than I thought."
He quickened his pace, wondering if the Gray Wolf's body held something valuable. Perhaps the village chief would know more.
Meanwhile, Rumba noticed his subordinates' pale faces.
"Are you all alright?" he asked.
Numba and Mumba looked at their trembling hands.
Numba replied, "Big brother Rumba, my body's shaking. When I saw the Gray Wolf… I felt frozen in fear."
Rumba took a deep breath. "Have you heard of killing intent?"
The guards nodded. "Yes. The elders used to say that those who kill often, humans or beasts, develop a terrifying aura."
Rumba nodded. "Exactly. That's what you're feeling now. This corpse is radiating killing intent. We can even use it to test recruits, see who can stand near it the longest. Even ordinary people should be able to last at least the time it takes a small candle to burn."
The guards nodded in understanding. They lifted the Giant Bear's corpse and began escorting it back to the village.
At the same time, Khumba stood before the Gray Wolf, speechless. He glanced at Aaron, who stood casually nearby, and asked, "Lord Aaron, did you take out its monster core?"
Aaron blinked. He remembered hearing the term before, but couldn't recall the details.
He shook his head. "Do you have a knife? Lend it to me, I'll help you dig it out."
Aaron handed over the bone knife, and Khumba got to work.
The blade sliced through the thick hide with ease, and a few minutes later, Khumba reached into the bloody cavity and pulled out a shimmering crystal.
He handed both the knife and the core to Aaron.
Aaron examined the crystal. "You can keep the knife. You'll need it to dissect the meat. We have enough salt, try to preserve as much as you can."
"As for the bones, craft me a short sword and a bone knife from them."
Khumba nodded. "Don't worry, Lord Aaron. I'll handle the corpse as you instructed and begin crafting the weapons right away."
Just then, Rumba returned with the Giant Bear's body.
Khumba's eyes widened.
"This… this is the smaller version of the monster that wiped out our team years ago…"
At the west gate, a group of villagers had gathered,
whispering and pointing at the massive corpse.
"Hey, doesn't that monster look like a Gray Wolf?"
"Yeah… now that you mention it, it really does. But how is it so huge?"
"Idiot! That's the Gray Wolf leader. Can't you even guess that much?"
"Ah! Really? Then Lord Aaron must've solved our biggest problem!"
"Finally, we won't be hunted by those wolves anymore."
"Still… we should confirm it with Lord Aaron."
While the villagers chatted, Rumba spoke with the old chief.
"Old Chief, we can use the monster's corpse to test the aptitude of those who want to join us."
Khumba nodded in agreement. "Good idea. Go find Kelly, and also inform everyone who submitted their names for recruitment."
Rumba nodded and immediately set off to search for Kelly.
On the other side of the camp…
Melina stood silently, staring at the massive Gray Wolf corpse. Her heart was far from calm.
She remembered what Miss Elina had told her, Lord Aaron was only sixteen years old.
Yet the monster before her… its aura, its size, its presence, it had clearly reached the strength of an Earth Knight, a Tier 4 beast.
Such a feat was unheard of in the history of the Verdia Kingdom.
With a solemn expression, she turned and hurried toward Elina's tent.
As she approached, she called softly, "Miss Elina, I have something important to report!"
Inside, Elina was copying a seal. She dropped her feather pen, rubbed her forehead, and said, "Come in, Melina. What is it?"
Melina entered, her tone serious. "Lord Aaron has hunted down a Tier 4 monster."
Elina blinked, about to nod, then froze.
"What did you say?"
Melina repeated, "Lord Aaron has hunted down a Tier 4 monster."
Elina shot to her feet. "Melina, quick, we're going to find Aaron. I need its blood!"
Moments later, they found Aaron at the water barrel,
washing his face.
Elina didn't hesitate. "Aaron, I want to discuss a deal with you."
Aaron looked up, confused. "What do you need?"
"I want the blood of the Tier 4 monster."
Aaron narrowed his eyes, then a sly grin spread across his face.
"No need. I need the blood for myself."
Elina clenched her teeth. She knew, this was payback.
But she also knew Aaron would be joining them on the journey to the Wizard World. Sooner or later, he'd learn the true value of Tier 4 blood.
She frowned, then composed herself.
"Aaron, I only need one liter. I won't take it for free, I'll waive the mana stone fee for your passage to the Wizard World. And you can ask me anything you want."
Aaron's eyes gleamed. "So the blood is more valuable than I thought…"
Without another word, he leapt away, rushing toward Khumba, who stood beside Kelly.
A crowd had gathered around the Giant Bear, while the Gray Wolf lay mostly ignored.
"Rumba! Bring me a bucket. I need to collect the blood of the Tier 4 monster. Old Chief, help me cut it open!"
The two men sprang into action.
