From Blade To Spell

Chapter 100: Experiment Notes

Time passed, and soon it was afternoon. The people working in the fields and forests were drenched in sweat, their clothes clinging to their bodies under the blazing sun.

Just then, Rumba arrived with his team and called out loudly, "Okay, everyone time's up! It's time for your one-hour break."

His words brought a wave of relief. The workers relaxed and hurried toward the temporary camp.

There, they found Lord Aaron, Miss Kelly, the Old Chief, Miss Rita, and several others gathered near the central tent.

Aaron gave a calm instruction. "Let them wash their hands and faces. Then distribute the food. After one hour, they must return to work."

Rumba nodded and turned to the crowd. "Line up accordingly. If any team members cause trouble, their contribution points will be reduced."

A few minutes later, the people stood in neat lines, washing their hands and faces with cool water.

Then they turned to the food laid out before them, and were stunned.

The meal consisted entirely of fruits: Apples, oranges, and coconuts. Each person also received a glass of orange juice and a serving of coconut water.

The onlookers were envious. Fruits were a rare commodity in the village. Though they could be traded, the cost was high, 1 contribution point per fruit.

Aaron had raised the price intentionally, as he hadn't yet cultivated fruit trees. Once more land was cleared, he planned to grow them himself.

Time passed quickly.

After the hour-long break, the trainees returned to their tasks with renewed energy.

Aaron watched them from a distance, his mind already planning ahead.

"With fruits during the day and meat at night, they'll be physically fit by the end of the month," he thought.

"Then I'll begin the next level of training."

Aaron sat beneath the shade of the tent, flipping through a bundle of old, weathered notes the ones he had confiscated from the Spider Bandits.

He had nearly forgotten about them. Only now did he remember their existence.

As he unfolded the pages, his eyes scanned the scribbled entries.

Spider Bandit's Experiment Log

Day 1

"Today I caught a Forest Spider. They're common in this region, larger than average, but their venom only affects small animals. In humans, it causes dizziness, nothing fatal. With proper treatment, recovery is possible."

"I caught it because I'm financially broke. Can't afford good equipment. But if I can evolve this spider, maybe I can use it to hunt monsters…"

Day 2

" Bought Horned Rabbit blood 2 silver coins.

Injected a drop into the spider."

It twitched… then exploded. Damn. Failure.

"Later, I collected five more spiders. Paid a hunter 10 bronze coins to catch them."

Injected a smaller amount of blood this time. All five died. No explosions, but still dead. I need better tools to control the dosage.

Day 3

"Three spiders.

Injected a dot-sized amount of blood."

"They went berserk. Good thing I kept them in jars."

"Calmed down after 10 minutes… Then died."

Day 5

Reduced the blood to the bare minimum.

"Spider entered an excited state for 20 minutes, then calmed… then died."

"Monster blood excites ordinary creatures, but it's unstable."

Day 7

"Horned Rabbit blood spoiled.

Switched to semi-monster blood creatures stronger than animals, weaker than monsters."

Day 8

"Spider survived the injection but became uncontrollable."

"Ancient texts suggest combining my own blood with semi-monster blood to establish control."

Day 9

"Spider killed prey in seconds. Its venom left blackened bite marks, clearly enhanced."

"But it grew aggressive, made piercing sounds.

I had to kill it before it broke the jar."

Day 12

"Success. Injected two spiders. I can sense a faint mental connection. I can give partial commands."

Day 15

"Discovered one male, one female. Attempting to breed them for more test subjects."

Day 32

"Eggs laid. Their reproduction rate is terrifying."

Day 37

"Eggs hatched. One spider ate its siblings."

Day 40

"Injected semi-monster blood again. One spider responded, I finally gained full control."

Day 50

"Spider grew 10 centimeters. It hunts and returns on command."

Day 70

"It killed and devoured its parents. A mutation occurred. It's unconscious."

Day 75

"It woke up. It has evolved into a Tier 1 Monster."

"My experiment is a success. I can now hunt monsters, gather resources, and earn more contribution points."

Day 80

"Not good.

Someone reported my hideout. I have to go..."

Aaron stared at the final line, his fingers tightening around the parchment.

"He actually succeeded… He created a controllable Tier 1 monster."

He leaned back, stunned.

"If I can replicate this… I might be able to raise my own monster scouts or guards."

But he also knew the risks. The process was unstable, dangerous, and morally gray.

Still, the knowledge was invaluable.

Aaron carefully placed the experimental notes from the Spider Bandits into his space ring, sealing them away for future study.

Then he pulled out another scroll, the Blood Pill recipe.

To his surprise, he could now read it clearly.

Blood Pill Recipe

Ingredients:

- 100 grams of blood from ordinary animals

- 200 grams of fruit juice

- 10–15 rose petals

- 10 grams of dried Blue Fungus powder

Instructions:

1. Mix the animal blood with fruit juice in a container.

2. Heat the mixture slowly for 15 minutes at 200°C. A gelatinous substance will begin to form.

3. Add the dried Blue Fungus powder and rose petals for aroma.

4. Stir slowly until the Blue powder fully dissolves, this takes five minutes.

5. Turn off the burner and allow the mixture to cool for a few minutes.

6. Use Mage Hands to shape the cooled mixture into small round balls. These can be stored in a box for later use.

Usage Guidelines-

- Ordinary people may consume one pill per day on an empty stomach.

- Children should not consume the pill unless in emergency situations, and even then, only half a pill is recommended.

Aaron looked at the recipe with a thoughtful look on his face. To make it, he needed suitable tools. Now that he thought of it, he still hadn't taken out the reward's experiment tables. It was also the blue-grade reward. Maybe after taking it out, he might find everything needed.
