CLEAVER OF SIN

Chapter 464: Accusation

The next day arrived swiftly. Finch, William, Asher, Rachael, Baron Whale, and his wife were all seated at the dining table for breakfast, engaging in discussion one final time before Asher and his companions would depart. The atmosphere was calm, tinged with a faint sense of finality, as the morning light streamed through the tall windows and bathed the room in a warm glow.

"Thank you for your hospitality, Baron Whale, Lady Vie," Asher stated calmly, his posture straight and his tone respectful.

"It was an honor to have a Wargrave grace my territory, and even more so to witness one in action," Baron Whale replied with a composed demeanor, a small smile gracing his lips. "Now I see why your family and bloodline hold such status and power."

"It was also an honor meeting you, Tenth Sun," Rachael spoke from the side, her noble etiquette and composed demeanor naturally surfacing as she addressed Asher in the presence of the Baron and Lady Vie.

"Son, continue to make me proud," Baron Whale said, his gaze shifting from Asher before settling on Finch. Finch simply smiled and nodded his head in response. Baron Whale's eyes then shifted toward William, whom he acknowledged with a brief nod.

With that, they all rose from the table, each dispersing to attend to the duties of the day, well, Baron Whale and Lady Vie were the ones who truly had work awaiting them.

As for Asher, William, and Finch, they returned to their rooms to take care of a few things before regrouping in Finch's room, where they would use their teleportation scroll together.

Finch entered his room and let out a quiet exhale at the thought of leaving his adorable younger sister once more. He said nothing, understanding that it was necessary. He couldn't possibly drop out of the Star Academy, no matter how much it pained him to leave her behind again.

Lior's voice came from above, as the Emovira sat casually atop Finch's head, having been present the entire time.

"So, where are you and those other two humans heading to?" he asked curiously.

"The Star Academy," Finch replied. "Basically a school within the Zarethorn Empire that teaches talented kids." He summarized it as briefly as possible.

Lior remained silent for a moment before replying, "Well, if you were accepted into this Star Academy, then I suppose I have a very different definition of talent." His tone was flat and calm as he stared ahead with his dark, black eyes.

Finch's lips twitched slightly. He still didn't fully understand this Emovira who seemed to jab at him with subtle insults whenever the opportunity arose.

"Well, that aside," Lior continued, his lips curling into a mischievous smile, "I finally found your crush."

"What do you mean?" Finch asked, utterly confused. He had no crush, nor any lover.

"That William guy," Lior said confidently. "You love him, right? You must have some kind of weird fetish." Lior grinned widely as he spoke, transforming from his miniature form into his full size before Finch, clearly eager to witness his reaction.

"What the fuck are you even talking about?" Finch shouted. After all, who wouldn't react like that to such an outrageous accusation?

"You transformed into him yesterday," Lior replied casually, unfazed. "And immediately after that, you transformed into a woman. Do I really need to say more?"

Finch felt like vomiting blood. This was the first time in his life he had ever been accused of something like this.

"Don't misunderstand," Finch said quickly, trying to regain his composure. "William was my first friend, so of course he was the first person I transformed into. I've known him the longest. As for transforming into a woman, I was simply testing the limits of the Shape Shifting ability, nothing more, nothing less."

Lior stared at Finch silently for a few seconds before responding with a clearly mocking expression.

"Yeah, right."

Finch felt like he was on the verge of going mad. Just as he was about to explain further, the door opened, and William and Asher walked in together.

Their eyes immediately shifted toward Lior, who stood off to the side with no change in expression. He had sensed their approach from several meters away but hadn't bothered to hide. Why would he? He was a positive Emovira.

Silence descended upon the four people in the room.

William was the first to act. In an instant, he blurred forward, his claymore already in motion as he swung it toward Lior's neck with lethal intent.

'Wow,' Lior's voice echoed inside Finch's mind, 'look how fast he moved to protect you. He must really love you too.'

Lior simply raised a single finger, halting the blade with ridiculous ease and finesse. He didn't take a step back or forward. William was far too weak to even force a slight movement from him.

"William, wait!" Finch shouted urgently, ignoring Lior's telepathic words entirely.

Asher, on the other hand, didn't move. He remained standing near the door, calmly observing the scene. Unlike William, who instinctively rushed into battle, Asher had already understood something important, which was precisely why he hadn't acted.

Finch let out a sigh and began explaining the situation to both William and Asher. There was no real reason to hide it, after all, taming a positive Emovira was basically a normal occurrence within Crymora.

He explained the bonding process as well, though he deliberately avoided mentioning the ability exchange.

"I see," Asher murmured from the side. "So that's why you suddenly got stronger…"

"You could tell?" Finch asked, confused. He had taken care to hide his Life Rank.

Asher didn't bother explaining. He could tell that Finch's muscles and body had become far more refined. There was no way Finch could cross so many ranks within just a few hours without encountering some extraordinary opportunity.

"So, if he dies, you die too?" William asked, staring intently at Lior, who stood with his arms crossed.

Asher stepped closer to Lior and extended a hand. "Nice to meet you," he said calmly. "I've been looking forward to meeting one of your kind. I've never seen a positive Emovira before."

Lior stared at Asher's outstretched hand, clearly not understanding the gesture. Finch had to explain it telepathically before Lior finally shook Asher's hand.

"Nice meeting you too, kid," Lior replied casually.

After exchanging a few more words and clarifying some remaining questions, they prepared to teleport back to the Star Academy. Lior transformed into a white orb and entered Finch's chest. With that, the group took out their teleportation scroll. They held it firmly before ripping it in half, ablinding white light flooded the room, and just like that, they vanished together.
