Having subdued Xu Gang and Zhou Mingjun's arrogance, Wang Xiaoqiang led a group of people mightily into Great Green Mountain.

Great Green Mountain was not like Mantou Mountain. Mantou Mountain's poor soil quality meant that, aside from weeds and some hardy shrubs, there was scarcely any other vegetation. In contrast, Great Green Mountain was lush with trees, blooming flowers, and scenic beauty that was quite enchanting.

The people who came from the concrete jungle of the big city felt elated like freed birds as they suddenly entered the mountain forest that resembled a primeval forest. The four women surrounded Wang Xiaoqiang, chattering nonstop. Now, they clearly regarded Wang Xiaoqiang as their center, treating him as the backbone of the group.

Zhou Mingjun and Xu Gang seemed to have forgotten their earlier humiliation. Holding hunting rifles and bows and arrows, they started shooting wildly at prey.

Their archery and spear techniques were nothing to behold, but with numbers on their side, they still managed to shoot a few pheasants and hares, exciting them as though they had taken Viagra.

"Hey, Little Qiang, why don't you bring out your slingshot…" Not seeing Wang Xiaoqiang hunting along the way, and with the slingshot seemingly tucked away somewhere, Wu Haimei couldn't help but ask out of curiosity.

"Why bother with a few pheasants," Wang Xiaoqiang glanced disdainfully at the three men searching for prey, then said to Xu Qingxue, "Tell them, if they plan to play for a long time, to conserve their ammo!"

Xu Qingxue also noticed this and conveyed Wang Xiaoqiang's message to the three men.

The three city men nodded seriously upon hearing this, and then checked their remaining ammunition. What they didn't know scared them; about half of the ammunition had already been wasted.

So they stopped wasting bullets on small game.

After entering the depths of the mountain range, they encountered more wildlife. The sounds of wolves and other unknown animals moving about could be heard, making everyone more vigilant. Wang Xiaoqiang pulled out his slingshot from his sleeve and held it in his hand; Big Black by his side became even quieter, his eyes scanning the surroundings cautiously.

Suddenly, a wolf appeared in everyone's line of sight. The wolf was lying under a rock, looking very weak. There were no other wolves around it, suggesting it was either a lone wolf or one that had been separated from its pack.

The previously silent Xu Gang and the others became excited upon seeing the wolf. They drew their bows and aimed their arrows, sending a volley of greetings towards the wolf.

Arrows flew swiftly. The wolf, struck by the projectiles, scrambled to its feet and managed to dodge into a dense forest, limping on its right hind leg as though injured.

"Release the dog, quick!"

These delicate city folk had come hunting for novelty and fun. The treacherous mountain path had already tired them, and they were unwilling to exhaust themselves further by chasing a wolf. Seeing that the wolf was already injured, they suggested letting the dogs chase and bite it.

Facing the group's suggestion, Wang Xiaoqiang remained indifferent; as he did nothing, Big Black remained still, just becoming more alert and scanning the surroundings with his eyes.

Wang Xiaoqiang had brought Big Black for protection, not for hunting. As the wolf escaped deeper into the forest, Wang Xiaoqiang's inaction provoked dissatisfaction from the group. Zhou Mingjun complained, "Hey, Wang Xiaoqiang, you're really not being very cooperative. That wolf was clearly injured. The dogs could have taken it down with absolute certainty..."

Ignoring their complaints, Wang Xiaoqiang tightened his grip on the slingshot with his right hand and took a steel ball from his pocket with his left, placing it in the pouch.

He had sensed a whiff of danger. The wolf's leg had fresh bloodstains; it was obviously a recent injury. In Great Green Mountain, the animals capable of hurting a wolf were likely wild boars.

Indeed, as the group continued about fifty meters farther along the mountain path, they encountered wild boars.

A large male boar accompanied by two smaller ones was loitering around. Upon seeing the people, they didn't panic and run, but instead turned to look at them, clearly not perceiving the group as a threat.

Upon seeing the large male wild boar, weighing nearly four hundred pounds, Wang Xiaoqiang's heart skipped a beat. Remembering that hunter Wang Baoshan had been knocked to his death by such a large boar, he urgently warned, "Let's quietly go around. Don't provoke them."

However, Wang Xiaoqiang's warning was completely ineffective. The moment Xu Gang and the others, including Wu Haimei, saw the wild boars, whether it was instinct or a trigger of their killer instincts, they immediately raised their bows and rifles to fire at the three boars.

The situation turned dire. Not only did the bullets and arrows miss the boars, but they also infuriated them. Led by the male boar, the three boars charged towards the group with roars.

It turned out that wild boars are quite aggressive.

The crowd instinctively came together, raising their guns and bows and arrows, aiming at the three boars, while Wang Xiaoqiang also stretched out his slingshot, infusing some Metal Element Spiritual Energy into the steel ball.

The benefit of the team sticking together was that the gunfire and arrows could be fired in a concentrated fashion, increasing the likelihood of hitting the target.

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Three arrows pierced through the impediment of the trees and aimed at two piglets, seemingly unhindered by the distance of several dozen meters.

However, their accuracy left much to be desired. One of them missed by a considerable margin, hitting the trunk of a small tree. The other two arrows pierced through the buttocks and back of two half-grown piglets, trailing twin streaks of blood in the air, a vivid crimson.

All three shotguns were aimed at the big boar.

Only one bullet hit its mark, grazing the skin on the back of the neck, spurting a streak of blood. But this shot clearly did not hit a vital area; it merely slowed the three-hundred-plus-pound boar slightly.

"Find a tree for cover!" Seeing the three injured pigs still charging recklessly toward them, Wang Xiaoqiang loudly reminded everyone.

The city folks finally lost their formation, scattering to find cover.

Now, the drawback of sticking together became apparent as the panicked crowd started colliding with each other.

In his panic, the tall and sturdy Xu Gang knocked Zhou Mingjun to the ground. But he didn't stop to help him up; instead, he hid behind a large tree.

Seeing the three pigs howling madly and charging toward them, Wang Xiaoqiang did not fire his slingshot. Although there was a chance of hitting and taking down one pig, he would not gamble with his life.

Before the boars reached him, Wang Xiaoqiang dashed behind a tree. Big Black, surprisingly calm, neither barked nor attacked the boars, instead following Wang Xiaoqiang behind the tree.

The wounded half-grown pigs had lost much of their ferocity when they charged, but the big boar showed no signs of weakness, charging like a bulldozer, its long, sharp tusks signaling its complete frenzy.

"Ah, save me!"

A cry for help—it was Zhou Mingjun who had been knocked over by Xu Gang. Just as he was getting up, he saw the big boar charging at him, and, in terror, instinctively yelled out.

Boom!

Zhou Mingjun, who had just stood up, was directly impaled by the sharp tusks of the charging boar and slammed against a large tree with a thud.

As the two half-grown pigs charged at those hiding behind trees, one was knocked to the ground by Xu Qingxue's martial arts. The other was shot in the neck by Zhou Haimei's arrow and fell.

Hearing its kin's screams, the big boar became even more violently agitated. After slamming Zhou Mingjun against the tree, it drew back its body, ready to strike again. If it managed to hit him solidly this time, Zhou Mingjun's life would be over.

At that moment, Zhou Mingjun, terrified, turned pale, his mouth agape, and he hoarsely screamed, "Save me..."

As the big boar charged again at Zhou Mingjun, Wang Xiaoqiang commanded, "Big Black, go!"

Big Black launched an attack silently, pouncing and biting the boar's tail. The boar's momentum was only briefly hindered, and it still charged toward Zhou Mingjun.

Wang Xiaoqiang pulled back his slingshot and fired, sending a steel ball infused with Metal Element Spiritual Energy deep into the boar's neck.

The boar let out a piercing howl, and its massive body, like a car that had just screeched to a halt, surged forward another meter or so before crashing to the ground.

The big boar lay twitching on the ground, gasping loudly from its mouth, each breath shorter than the last.

After a few gasps, it finally breathed its last.

Zhou Mingjun stared blankly at the big boar lying close in front of him, as if petrified, his body trembling. Completely oblivious to his leg being stabbed by the boar's tusks, he was still bleeding profusely.
