Superpower Small Farmer

Chapter 124 Plain Crown Lotus Cauldron

In the morning mist, the two exchanged glances and paused for a moment, with Wang Xiaoqiang raising a finger to his lips, signaling her to keep quiet.

Wu Haimei didn't make a sound. Instead, she covered her mouth and stifled a laugh.

Wang Xiaoqiang tip-toed over and lowered his voice to defend himself, "Actually, it's not what you think..."

Wu Haimei asked with a smile, "Oh? How is it then? Don't tell me nothing happened between you two last night?"

Wang Xiaoqiang nodded seriously.

"Then you're not a real man, are you? Giggles..." Wu Haimei stared at Wang Xiaoqiang and burst into giggles.

"Stop laughing, or I'll show you what a real man is like!" Wang Xiaoqiang reached out and grabbed Wu Haimei, giving her a glare.

He really feared she would wake everyone up and have them all mock him.

Wu Haimei couldn't make a sound with her mouth, so she could only try to pull Wang Xiaoqiang's hand away. Wang Xiaoqiang held her waist, pulled her ten meters away from the tent, and then let her go.

Wu Haimei was panting softly, and she playfully punched him on the shoulder, complaining, "Are you trying to suffocate me? Ah, I really did want to see if you were a man or not..."

"Pfft, if it happened, it happened. What's there to be afraid of? It's not like it's anything rare; I did that sort of thing with my boyfriend back in junior high..." Wu Haimei quickly averted her gaze from Wang Xiaoqiang and blurted out carelessly.

Having heard Wu Haimei's words, whether they were true or false, Wang Xiaoqiang felt like he had swallowed a fly and immediately deflated.

As for this matter, Wang Xiaoqiang knew he couldn't clear things up, so he simply stopped trying to explain.

"Hey, look at you, all brawny. I bet our Miss Xu won't be able to get out of bed today!" Wu Haimei teased, her eyes gleaming as she put her hand back on his shoulder.

"Don't talk nonsense!" Wang Xiaoqiang removed Wu Haimei's hand.

Wu Haimei wasn't annoyed and continued to look at Wang Xiaoqiang with an appreciative eye, "Wang Xiaoqiang, you're really something, managing to charm our high and mighty beautiful chief..."

"It's charm, you know?!" Wang Xiaoqiang, tired of the endless conversation on the topic, didn't bother to explain further, and, following her lead, bragged a bit before suggesting, "Let's go over there for a walk and find some water to wash up..."

This kind of flirtatious situation between men and women is just like that; the more you try to deny it seriously, the more they tease you. If you just admit it, they lose interest in the topic and drop it.

As expected, Wu Haimei nodded and promptly got serious, following Wang Xiaoqiang along a mountain trail and into a valley.

The mountain was quiet in the early morning, and the sound of the stream could be heard clearly. They followed the sound and arrived beside the stream.

By now, the day had brightened, and everything in the stream was clearly visible. They saw that it was a stream about one person deep, with water flowing gently and so clear you could see the bottom, yet there appeared to be no weeds growing within it.

Although the stream's water was clean, it was too low for washing one's face. The two of them bent over to inspect the water in the stream, when suddenly, Wu Haimei pointed to two plants beside the running water and exclaimed in surprise, "Huh? What's that?"

Wang Xiaoqiang followed her pointing finger and saw two plants that looked like garlic sprouts. Upon closer inspection, the leaves were different from garlic sprouts, and their presence below in the stream indicated they were likely some type of flower.

"Wow, they seem to be two orchids!" Wu Haimei exclaimed dramatically.

"I'm going to jump down and wash my face..." said Wang Xiaoqiang, and he leapt into the stream, first washing his face with the clean water before taking a closer look at those two plants.

Thanks to his previous experience with the Golden Sand Tree Chrysanthemum, Wang Xiaoqiang could tell, just like Zhou Haimei had said, that they were indeed orchids, albeit with smaller and neatly upward-pointing leaves, not looking as grand as the Golden Sand Tree Chrysanthemum.

"Do you want them? If you do, I can dig them up for you..." Wang Xiaoqiang looked up at Wu Haimei.

"Forget it, it's a long way and too much hassle. They'd probably die before I could get them home!" Wu Haimei shook her head.

"Then I'll take them!" Wang Xiaoqiang said and began to dig up the two plants.

"Hey, maybe we shouldn't! It would be a pity if it died!" Wu Haimei actually had a soft spot for flowers and plants.

"Don't worry," Wang Xiaoqiang said as he dug up the two plants with their roots, grabbed a handful of semi-dry mud to wrap around the roots, and then handed it to Wu Haimei.

Wu Haimei took it, examined it closely, and said with a small surprise, "It really is an orchid, just don't know what variety..."

Wang Xiaoqiang climbed up and took the plants from Wu Haimei's hands and said to her, "You go wash your face as well, the water is clear!"

Wu Haimei, like a boy, jumped down into the stream and started washing her face. The water was indeed refreshingly cool.

Wang Xiaoqiang gave the two plants a little bit of Wood Element Spiritual Qi.

No matter what kind of flower, Wang Xiaoqiang couldn't bear to watch them die. What if they were orchids as valuable as the Golden Sand Tree Chrysanthemum!

"Hey, pull me up!" Wu Haimei had washed her face but couldn't climb back up the stream and had to call for Wang Xiaoqiang to pull her up.

Wang Xiaoqiang put the two plants down on the ground, took Wu Haimei's hands, and pulled her up. For some reason, Wu Haimei stumbled and fell into Wang Xiaoqiang's arms.

Wang Xiaoqiang spread his arms wide, his body stiff in place. The two bulges that hit his chest felt unusually large, and he couldn't help but feel a surge of excitement.

Without making a sound, Wu Haimei took a deep breath against Wang Xiaoqiang's chest, pushed him away, then picked up the two plants from the ground and said, "Let's go, I'll carry them for you."

As she spoke, she held the two plants in her hands and skipped back, singing as she went, "I come from the mountain, bearing orchid plants..."

When the two got back to the camp, the other four were up and were gathered around the big male wild boar taking pictures as mementos.

Seeing this, Wu Haimei let out an excited yell, handed the two plants back to Wang Xiaoqiang, and then danced over, "I want a picture too, I want one too..."

After the pictures were taken, Li Gang took a knife and removed the two tusks from the male pig, wiped them clean with a napkin, and was about to put them in his bag when Zhou Mingjun chimed in, "Hey hey, aren't you being a bit selfish? That's Human King Wang Xiaoqiang's prey, you're claiming it as your own, that's really selfish."

Xu Gang stopped with some embarrassment, turning his gaze towards Wang Xiaoqiang to seek his opinion.

"I don't want it," Wang Xiaoqiang shook his head and waved his hands, "You guys take them back as memorabilia..."

Upon hearing this, Xu Gang's face brightened, and he was about to stuff the tusks into his bag when Zhou Mingjun snatched one, "This tusk has hurt me. I need to keep it as a souvenir..."

Xu Gang, knowing Zhou Mingjun still had a grudge against him, didn't make an issue of it, and so they split the tusks, each pocketed one.

"Little Qiang, where did you get the orchids?" Xu Qingxue walked over to Wang Xiaoqiang, curiously looking at the two plants in his hands.

"Dug them out from the stream," Wang Xiaoqiang replied truthfully.

"Yikes, these orchids kind of look like Plain Crown, Lotus Cauldrons..." Hu Yuepo's eyes suddenly brightened when he saw the plants in Wang Xiaoqiang's hands.

"I think so too, but without flowers, it can't be confirmed..." As an expert in flowers and plants, Yongqian had exposed Qingxue to various precious orchids since she was young, so now she was also expressing her doubts.

Wang Xiaoqiang's heart skipped a beat, but he said, "Cut it out, if you guys think they're valuable orchids, just take them home to care for... I think they're simply garlic sprouts."

"Garlic sprouts, tsk..." Hu Yuepo scoffed with a cold laugh, "How could garlic sprouts grow in a stream? However, if it really is Plain Crown, Lotus Cauldron, it would be such a shame. Such flowers are precious but also delicate; they hardly survive transplanting, let alone over such a long distance. If we can't get it back home, it's likely to die..."

"Yeah, Little Qiang, if you take it home and it doesn't die, you should really take good care of it..." Xu Qingxue gave Wang Xiaoqiang a meaningful glance, hinting at him to be careful—as it was probably a valuable orchid.

Wang Xiaoqiang nodded, "Then I'll just take care of it for fun."
