Adventures of the last Wild Dragon

Chapter 167: Parting Ways

A silence fell over the campsite, each person lost in their own thoughts. From Violet and Luna's determination to grow stronger, to Susan and Rhyana's shock upon finally realising the true might of the Kingdom that they want to challenge. All of the girls had a lot to think about.

Ivy watched as a fire seemed to be lit within both Violet and Luna, a determination to carry on and progress, regardless of what may stand in their way. She liked these girls, they clearly cared deeply for one another, they were powerful for their level and age, then came their apparent determination. Where some may loose hope upon learning of the impossibility of a given goal, these two just look more determined than ever.

She smiled at this, thinking it a healthy mix of youthful optimism and genuine belief that they will be able to accomplish their lofty goal.

Soon though, the food was ready and the group snapped out of their silence to eat. The evening progressed quite pleasantly after that.

Luna pestered Ivy for ways of growing stronger, from presence training to general tips. Ivy as promised did provide all of them a series of simple exercises for practicing utilising their presence, but after trying it quickly it was soon made apparent that it would be a challenging endeavour that would not be completed any time soon.

They spoke of their immediate goals for the future. With the girls stating their desire to cross the mountains and continue travelling east.

"Oh if you are heading east then you should all stop by the city of Cragkieth. It's primarily populated by dwarves, but a number of other beastkin live there… hmm but whilst it should be a problem for most of you." She then looked in Rhyana's direction. "Do you have the shapeshift skill? It may be easier for you to travel through the city and gain entrance if you have it."

Rhyana looked down a touch nervously, her feet shuffling back and forth. "I-I do have it, but I don't know how what to do when in a humanoid form."

The group looked at her in surprise, even Susan seemed to be quite surprised that she had gained that skill and had not even mentioned it. "Why didn't you tell us that you had that skill? It's really impressive that you have it!" Susan exclaimed.

Rhyana just lowered her head even further at that comment, unable to make eye contact with the group. Ivy looked on curiously at the embarrassed dragon, already having a good guess as to why she is afraid to showcase it, so she decided to burst the dragons bubble and spill the beans.

"She is afraid that when she taken on a humanoid form she won't be as good as Violet. So she tried to keep it a secret so that you won't be able to judge her for not being the best." Rhyana's head snapped up in apparent shock, her eyes opening wide.

"Wha… how?" She stuttered.

Ivy snorted in amusement. "Girl iv been around for a long time, do you think you are the only beast iv met to gain a humanoid form? It's quite common that when someone gets a skill that someone they respect also has, they will be afraid of showcasing it for fear of not living up to the expectations of others. But you don't have to worry about that, do you trust your friends so little?"

"No! No I trust them…" Rhyana trailed off, then she took a deep breath in before slowly letting it out as her body began to glow and change.

A blue radiance began to envelop her body, and it then began to shrink. The glow intensified till it was hard to look at so Violet turned her head away. Turning back once the glow was gone she came face to face with an adorable blue haired dragon girl.

Rhyana was quite small, standing at around 5ft total, she had some curves but nothing compared to what Violet and Susan had. Her skin was a porcelain white, faint blue scales could be seen on her extremities similar to Violet's humanoid form. Her hair was fairly short, just above her shoulders and was electric blue in colour.

She also kept a long blue tail and wings, along with her twin horns that curled backwards slightly. She had a remarkably young appearance, looking no older than 14-15. Compared to Violet who currently looked like a woman in her late teens to early 20's. But overall, Rhyana looked quite adorable.

"Oh my gosh, you look adorable!!" Susan squealed in excitement before rushing forth and wrapping the stunned girl into a big hug, smooshin her face into her own ample chest. Rhyana for her part looked to be in a mix of indignation and excitement at her companions actions. But no one could blame Susan, for Rhyana really did look like an early teenager with her small stature and petite build.

"Get oufff meee." Came Rhyana's muffled cry as she was unceremoniously smothered into Susan's chest. Eventually though she was realeased, left to stand their with an utterly adorable pout as she glared at Susan who had to fight back the urge to wrap her up in a hug once more.

"Well thata that problem solved." Ivy said with a smirk as she too found the young dragon to be extraordinarily cute.

Ivy then went on to explain to the group how they could go about locating the apparently underground city, as well as explaining some of the common laws that they would have to follow once within its walls. When questioned if she would be joining them she had to shake her head.

"I'm afraid not young ones. I have more business deeper into the Emerald Lakes. But feel free to show this when you arrive at the city and use my name. It should give you an easier time entering." She then proceeded to provide Violet with a wooden token embossed with an emblem of a tree wrapped up in vines.

"This is the emblem of the Wild Order, please do not loose it." She took a moment to look over the 4 girls before her. "I wish you all luck on your adventures. May our paths cross again in the future." And just like that she then vanished.

The girls sat there in surprise at her sudden disappearance, having not expected her to leave so suddenly. "Hu, we didn't even get a chance to say goodbye." Muttered Violet as she glanced down at the emblem in her hands.

"She was nice." Commented Luna. "And strong, I canny wait for us to be that strong!"

"Umm Violet, can I get a dress for Rhyana now?" Spoke up Susan, looking over Violet and Luna realised that Rhyana was in fact still sat there not wearing anything. The dragon girl didn't seem to mind not wearing any clothing, much like how Violet initially didn't like wearing clothes. But it seemed that Susan had finally gotten past her cuteness and now needed to play dress up.

A wicked grin appeared in Violet's face at that, 'finally someone else can share my pain at being dressed up!'. And so Rhyana was subjected to an evening of playing model as she was forced into a variety of outfits by an overly enthusiastic dogkin, and a vindictive dragon.
