Chapter 70: Why Did She Turn Into a Tsundere Bunny Right After We Did It?!

He glanced around and sighed.

"The chair's busted, and the table won't survive my weight. Unless you want me to fall through the floor, I'm gonna need a lift."

Evelise's one bunny ear raised.

"A lift? Don't tell me you're asking me to help you. Why would I help you?"

"Because unless you've suddenly learned to fly, that web's not coming down… or do you want me to give you a command?"

She huffed, grumbling quietly, then finally stomped over.

"Fine! But this is only because I refuse to let a spider mock me from above!"

Sid crouched down to give Evelise an easy way to climb onto his shoulder. Evelise hesitated, her face turning slightly red.

"Tch… this is ridiculous. Don't you dare make this weird."

"I'm literally kneeling on the floor. You're the one hesitating."

"I'm not hesitating!"

"Then climb already."

"Shut up!"

Evelise muttered, taking a breath before stepping closer. She carefully placed her hands on his shoulders, still frowning.

"You move an inch, and I'll kick your head off."

"Yeah, yeah. Just hurry before the spider decides to come down on us instead."

Sid chuckled, tightening his grip to steady her. Under her breath she grumbled something he couldn't quite catch, but the tone was sharp enough to make him smirk. Her long ears flicked as she shifted, steadying herself on his shoulders and glaring down at him.

"Don't you dare drop me, human."

Sid tilted his head back, a teasing grin spreading across his face.

"Relax, princess. If I was gonna drop you, I'd have done it already."

Evelise steadied herself on Sid's shoulders, her cold hands gripping his head as she tried to balance.

"You move, and I swear I'll crush your neck."

"Oh, that's comforting. Nothing says teamwork like death threats."

He shifted slightly, testing his balance, and added in a mock-serious tone,

"By the way, why it Feels like someone left a frozen steak on my neck."

Evelise's face reddened immediately, her eyes widening in shock and embarrassment. She quickly adjusted, realizing that her pussy had been pressed against Sid's neck

"W–What did you just say?!"

"I said you're cold! Like, unreasonably cold. Are you sure you're not part refrigerator?"

"Maybe because I am part zombie, you idiot!"

She barked, gripping tighter.

"You think zombies come with body heat and sunshine?! Just stay still!"

"Alright, alright, calm down, ice queen. You could at least pretend to be warm. It's like getting a shoulder massage from a snowman."

"You talk too much! I should've used that broom to whack you instead of the web!"

"Don't tempt me to wiggle… If I shake even a little, we'll both—"

"Don't you dare!"

With a muttered curse, she focused on the web above. Using the old broom, she began to sweep away the layers of sticky silk. For a moment, everything seemed fine. Then, as the final clump fell loose, something small and black darted out, landing right on her sleeve. Evelise froze.

"...Was that—?"

"Yep. That's a spider."

Her pupils shrank.

"It's on me?!"

"Oh yeah, right there. Crawling up your arm. Big one too."

Evelise screamed— a sharp, high-pitched sound that echoed through the cabin and began to flail wildly.

"Get it off! Get it off me, human!"

Sid struggled to keep steady, gripping her legs to stop her from throwing them both off balance.

"Stop moving! You're gonna— hey! Watch the kicks!"

But Evelise didn't listen. She swung the broom in panic, hitting both the ceiling and Sid's head.

"You idiot, it's in my hair!"

Sid grunted, his knees wobbling as she twisted and squirmed.

"Then hold still! I'll— ow! That was my ear!"

He lurched sideways, catching himself against the wall with a thud. Evelise's forehead smacked hard into the wooden beam above.

"Ow!"

She yelped, clutching her head.

"You clumsy human! You almost killed me!"

"Me? You're the one fighting an insect like it's a boss monster!"

Sid groaned, rubbing the side of his face where she'd accidentally elbowed him. The spider finally dropped to the floor and scurried away, leaving Evelise trembling on his shoulders.

"I swear… I hate this place!"

She muttered, glaring down at the floor where the spider vanished. Sid teased more.

"Hey, at least it's one less pest to clean. See? We're making progress."

"Put me down already before I actually throw you through a wall."

Sid looked up at her, eyes glinting with mischief.

"Oh, before that— look up. There's still dust, cobwebs, and even vines hanging along the ceiling beam. Might as well finish the job while you're up there."

Evelise froze, then let out a long, furious sigh.

"You've got to be kidding me…"

"Come on, just a few more swipes. You're doing great!"

Sid said, voice full of teasing encouragement. She muttered something under her breath, something definitely unholy and started sweeping again, her long ears twitching in pure annoyance. Dust rained down onto Sid's face as she worked. He coughed and waved a hand in front of him.

"Okay, maybe don't sweep directly above my head!"

"Maybe don't breathe so loud!'

For a few chaotic minutes, the cabin was filled with dust, laughter, and Evelise's constant muttering about "stupid humans" and "haunted spiders." By the time she finally finished and climbed down, both of them were covered in dirt, vines and cobwebs, but the ceiling was spotless. Sid looked around, hands on his hips.

"Well, I'll be damned. We might actually survive this cleaning mission."

Evelise brushed off her skirt and crossed her arms, trying to hide her smile.

"Don't get used to it, human. You're still my servant for this… 'mission' you're talking about."

"Sure thing, princess. Just try not to scream next time we meet another spider."

She gave him a sharp glare, but her ears twitched in embarrassment as she turned away.

"One more word about spiders, and I'll make you sleep outside."

After what felt like hours of sweeping, hauling, and Evelise barking orders like a drill sergeant, the cabin finally looked… almost livable. The floorboards were clear, the air no longer thick with dust, and the scattered debris now sat neatly piled by the doorway. Sid leaned against a wall, wiping sweat from his brow while Evelise inspected the room with her arms crossed.

"Not bad, human…"
