The Guy Who Tamed Chickens

Chapter 45: High Level Monsters

The Orc hammered down his axe at the soldier, and the body immediately got smashed to the ground.

The body of the soldier who was just talking a few seconds ago, now turned into a meat paste.

Seeing this, the group of soldiers and adventurers suddenly halted their steps.

They stared at the scene in a daze for a while, and the place got covered in pin drop silence.

"Wahhh!! Run!"

"Monsters!! Everyone, run!!"

"Noo, I don't want to die!"

"Save me!!"

"..."

Not knowing who started it, everyone turned around and started running back to the town.

The primal fear after seeing someone get smashed to death took over their mind.

At this time, all they can think about is running back to town, hoping that they will be safe when they get there.

At the town wall, Melody covered her mouth in shock as she watched all of these.

"Gasp! This… so cruel…"

Her face turned pale with fright, and her knees can't help but feel weak.

Staring at that meat paste from afar, Melody felt the urge to vomit.

As a girl who grew up in a civilized society, such a scene really frightened Melody.

"Miss, are you okay?"

Just as her mind was starting to get filled with various thoughts, a hand suddenly patted her shoulders.

Turning to look at the owner of the hand, Melody saw the same bearded soldier from before.

Beside him, there are also other soldiers around her, looking at her with concern.

They are the soldiers that got injured during the fight with the monsters and were brought back to town.

Thanks to the healing potion that Grandmaster Virgo gave her, they were saved and are no longer hurt.

Seeing all of them all looking at her, Melody resisted the urge to vomit and shook her head.

"I-I'm okay… don't worry."

After saying that, she turned her eyes back to the battlefield.

To be specific, her eyes stayed on a certain individual there.

That person is Kyson.

"Tsk, it seems this one is a bit more powerful…"

Standing behind Roast and Chicky, Kyson is actually watching the whole battlefield.

Since there are only 8 monsters now, Kyson thought that things would be resolved sooner or later.

Unexpectedly, one of the high-level monsters, the Orc, possessed such incredible strength.

This situation stems from not knowing the exact strength and abilities of his enemies.

Even though he can see that they are higher level monsters, Kyson doesn't really have exact data on those monsters.

From the low level monsters earlier, Kyson roughly guessed their levels to be around level 8 to 15 based on the amount of experience he received from them.

Because of that, he thought that the higher level monster at the back should only be about level 20 to 30.

But seeing the strength of that Orc…

It seems it's more than just level 30.

Kyson's eyes turned to Roast and silently calculated.

"... It might be hard for me to cause substantial damage to those monsters with Roast current abilities."

In the end, Kyson came to this conclusion.

"Well… if it comes to that, I'll use [All Might]."

"But for now… let's see how Roast will fare with the other monsters."

Kyson turned his eyes to the 8 monsters in the field and thought about certain things.

For monsters, most of their stats are directed into one or two attributes depending on their type.

For example, an Orc monster's stats will mostly be in strength, with constitution being secondary.

Because of this, the speed of an Orc is not really that fast.

As for spirit… they are not magicians, there's no use for adding points to it.

So based on this, the weakness of an Orc is either its speed or its mind.

So at this time, Kyson is looking among the 8 remaining monsters for one that has weaker defense.

The Orc and the Howling Monkey are both monsters with great physical strengths.

Because of that, Kyson directly crossed them off his list.

Finally, his eyes locked in on one of the monsters.

It was a huge, black wolf that stood at 2-meter high.

Its body exuded a threatening feeling. As if it will lunge at you at any given moment and bite your head off.

The shadow of the wolf seems to sway on the ground, looking hazy.

That wolf is not included in the monster guides that were shared by the government, leaving Kyson clueless as to what it is.

As if feeling his gaze, the dark red eyes of the black wolf that was originally looking at the running humans turned to him.

Suddenly, it snarled at Kyson and showed its fangs in a threatening manner.

Seeing this, Kyson smiled.

"Roast."

Kyson only called Roast and he immediately knew what to do.

Without any warning, a wall of fire rose up from the ground where the black wolf was standing.

Fwoosh!

The moment the fire appeared on the ground, the eyes of the black wolf widened.

Suddenly, it disappeared on the ground and when it appeared, it was already under the shade of a tree 10 meters away from its original location.

"Interesting…"

Seeing this, Kyson smiled.

From those movements, Kyson guessed that the wolf must be a speedy monster.

"If it's really like that, Roast should be able to handle it."

With a move in his mind, Kyson directed an order to Roast.

'Kill it!'

"Cluck!"

Manifesting his talent [Friend of the Wind], Roast's body was suddenly enveloped by the wind.

"Tik-ti-la-ok!!"

Suddenly, Roast crowed loudly and flew forward with great momentum.

Wherever he goes, the wind blows away the dust.

Without hesitation, Roast headed toward the black wolf that was under the shade not from afar.

When Roast was just a few meters away, he opened his beak and spit out fire towards the black work!

Fwooshh!

The fire mixed with the wind, creating great synergy, increasing the intensity of the fire.

Feeling the heat from it, the black wolf's pupil constricted.
