"What are you guys doing here?"
Kyson looked at the group of people who suddenly appeared behind him inquisitively.
It was none other than the Irontheart party.
Standing in front, Mirai, with her golden hair, smiled and said, "Well, I suddenly felt curious about this thing you mentioned to me."
"Is it really as dangerous as you told me?"
Seeing the curious light in her eyes, Kyson sneered, "What? You thought I was lying to you?"
Chuckling, he said, "If you're really willing to bet your life, I don't have anything to say to that. Whether you believe me or not is entirely up to you."
"As for me, I have to go back now to avoid encountering something weird again here in the woods."
Saying those words, Kyson turned around and was about to walk past them.
But suddenly, a big figure walked over and stood in front of him, blocking his path.
Raising his head, it was Arthur.
Arthur's face at this time didn't show any emotions. He just stood there, obstructing Kyson from going anywhere.
Kyson took a deep breath and exhaled loudly.
Glaring at Arthur, Kyson said in a heavy tone, "Are you going to open the way or do I have to use force on you?"
Arthur didn't answer and just stood there—silent—like an impenetrable wall.
(AN: Just practicing the use of –.)
Losing his patience, Kyson clenched his fist and was already considering throwing a punch.
But just as he was about to make a move, Mirai's clear voice sounded.
"Arthur, move."
Arthur remained still for a while, before moving to the side.
Kyson glanced at Mirai one last time and turned away, continuing forward.
Soon, Kyson disappeared from their sight.
Arthur walked up to Mirai.
"Are you sure that's alright? Should we just let him go?"
Mirai looked at him indifferently, making Arthur's hair stand on end.
"I-I'm sorry for questioning you, Miss."
He immediately lowered his head in fear.
Mirai shifted her eyes away from him and looked at the dense miasma a few meters away from them.
"It seems he was really telling the truth. Great danger is indeed looming over the whole city of Porac."
After observing for a while, Mirai turned around and started walking away.
Silently, the other members of Ironheart followed behind her.
Soon, everyone disappeared and the forest came back to the same quiet environment as it was before.
At this moment, only few people know that something big is happening in the Batalan Forest of Porac City.
Most other adventurers and civilians are still smiling happily, unaware of the looming danger to the city.
…
Meanwhile, back inside the demonic cave.
Standing in front of the pale faced task force team is a tall and muscular figure with green skin.
With full black eyes and red pupils staring at the task force team, it spoke with intensity, "Humans, I've been expecting you."
Boom!
Its voice echoed all over the cave, sounding calm, but full of oppression.
Director Gil, who's standing in front, heard the voice and felt like his mind was about to explode.
"Argh!!"
Similar to him, the other members of the task force team seem to experience the same thing.
They fell to the ground, holding on to their heads, writhing in pain.
On the other hand, the huge goblin just stood there, eyeing them with an indifferent expression.
Director Gil tried to resist and raise his head.
But when he did so, he met the eyes of the goblin and felt like he fell into an ice cold cellar.
At this moment, Director Gil and the others can vividly feel it.
The breath of death blowing on their neck is incredibly real. This is a moment where they could die at any moment.
And that's in the hands of the figure in front of them.
As someone who can become the director of a new agency in these chaotic times, Director Gil's will is also very strong.
Through sheer will, he gritted his teeth and endured the pressure coming from the goblin.
His eyes turned blood red as he looked directly at the goblin.
A grave voice sounded from his mouth.
"You… What are you?..."
The goblin looked back at him, showing no reaction on his face.
Then it opened its mouth and said, "I am Tarim… a Goblin King blessed by the Demon King."
"And you are… the one who massacred my people."
Hearing the answer from the goblin, Director Gil can feel his heart beating faster.
'The Demon King?! How could that be!'
'The people from the other side clearly said that the Demon King is an omnipotent existence that rules the Demon Realm!'
'How come a blessed monster of that Demon King is out here?!'
As an existence that can be called 'omnipotent', even if it's not true, the individuals that are blessed by him experience a qualitative leap in their power.
For the monsters, the blessing of the Demon King is synonymous to life transformation.
Their very being itself gets raised to another level once they are blessed.
At that moment, they already broke through the very limit of their own original race.
Becoming one of its own origin.
One that originates from the Demon King.
Knowing all of this, Director Gil understood that there's no hope for completing the mission they are tasked with.
His face was downcast with gloom.
But looking back at the members with him, he knows that he can only make that decision now.
So with the last bit of his strength, he ordered through the intercoms.
"Execute plan Z."
As his voice died down, his body suddenly started emitting bright and heavy golden lights.
As if triggered by a domino, the faces of everyone in the team also changed.
Similar lights also started coming out of their bodies.
The bright golden lights shone in this dark cave, even extinguishing some of the miasma floating in the air nearby them.
Just as the lights reached their peak, a scroll made out of unknown paper appeared in each of their hands.
Before the Goblin King Tamir could even react, the team members disappeared, along with the golden lights coming out of their bodies.
The bright cave filled with golden light came to a still and went back to the same state it was before.
Dark, damp, and filled with oppressive air.
Staring at the place where the task force team was lying just a while ago now empty, Goblin King Tamir finally reacted.
The originally ugly face turned even more hideous from anger.
Raising the greatsword in his hands, he smashed the spot where the task force team were before with madness.
"How dare you humans run away!!"
"ROAR!!!"
A strong coercive pressure descended on Batalan Forest.
"Ugh! What the hell is that?!"
"Was that a monster?!"
"Run!!"
Some adventurers who are still wandering around Batalan Forest were immediately affected by the pressure.
The roar of the Goblin King sounded throughout the whole forest, stirring up fear in the hearts of all those who heard it.
Without hesitation, they started running away from the forest, rushing back towards Porac City.
…
Porac City.
Back at the Adventurer Agency.
Multiple bodies of light suddenly materialized at the director's office on the second floor.
When the light finally died down, the figure of Director Gil and other members of the task force team appeared.
"Hays…"
Sounds of relieved sighs sounded from multiple individuals and they lay powerlessly on the ground.
For a moment, there was only silence inside the room, all of them still deep into the experience they just went through.
After a while, one of the members of the task force team broke the silence.
"We're alive… aren't we?"
It was Mel, the one who lost his buddy at the cave.
With a distracted tone on his voice, he stared at the ceiling in a daze while lying on the floor.
Soon, one by one, the members of the tasks force team recovered and sat up.
Director Gil also sat up, but on his face, there is no trace of relief.
Instead, a grave look filled with worries is plastered on his face.
Even though he's still feeling pain from the pressure he experienced, Director Gil pushed himself and stood up.
Looking at the beaten looks of everyone, he said, "You guys rest here for now. I will go and report the result of our mission this time."
Director Gil left the office and went to another empty room.
Then tinkering with his watch for a while, it suddenly clicked and an image of a dignified man in his 50s appeared.
The aura of authority surrounds the man, giving off a powerful and official feel to him.
Seeing the man, Director Gil immediately saluted.
"Sir!"
The man on the screen looked at him and nodded gently.
"Be at ease."
The steady voice of the man sounded and Director Gil immediately relaxed.
Then a sorrowful once again emerged on his face.
"Sir, I'm here to report!"
