Divine Doctor from the Start of the Eye Mutation

Chapter 305 Take a Break

Han Lian had already taken out the handcuffs from her waist while speaking and directly shackled Red Hair and another guy together.

Actually, there was no need for handcuffs; these people couldn't stand up for a while, as Ling Zhenfei was exceptionally precise.

The police cars arrived as expected. The officers were already nearby and rushed over upon hearing Han Lian's call.

All members of the Three Killers Club were taken onto the police vehicles, and one of the bar's staffers was also taken to the police station to explain the situation.

"Aren't you leaving?" Seeing that the police had driven off but Han Lian showed no signs of leaving,

"It's none of your business. Can't you let me rest for a bit?" Han Lian stretched lazily with a relieved expression, seeming quite exhausted from the recent events.

"Thank you both so much for just now, if it weren't for you, my bar would have been smashed by these Three Killers Club people," said Boss Liu, the bar owner, approaching with a face full of gratitude.

"No need to be polite, Boss. We just happened to be passing by," Ling Zhenfei replied.

Ling Zhenfei said it was a coincidence, but of course, the bar owner didn't believe it. Who else would 'just happen to be passing by' and also bring the police along?

"Boss Liu, I am a police officer, and I happen to be looking for information about the Three Killers Club. I wonder if you could tell me what you know," Han Lian instead chose to be honest.

"Why don't the two of you come into my bar and sit down? We can talk about any questions you have face to face," the boss invited Ling Zhenfei and his companion.

Han Lian certainly wanted to go, and after thinking about it, Ling Zhenfei realized he had no urgent matters, so he agreed. They followed the owner into the bar.

Since it was noon and the earlier disturbance outside had just ended, there were hardly any customers inside the bar, making it relatively quiet.

Upon entering, Ling Zhenfei noticed that the bar was quite large in scale and had decent decor, very modern and stylish, giving off a great vibe. The business seemed like it should be good; it was a shame that such a nice place was up for sale.

The two were led to a private room and were served a bottle of red wine. After pouring red wine for both, the three of them started chatting.

The issue Han Lian was most concerned about was, of course, the Three Killers Club. Boss Liu seemed to be quite knowledgeable about the local crime scene, and with his introduction, Ling Zhenfei gained some understanding of the Three Killers Club as well.

The Three Killers Club was originally established by three individuals, which is where the name came from. It was nothing more than a small gang initially, starting off by collecting protection money, then doing more heinous acts.

They would rob construction sites, riverbanks, and forests. They'd do anything that made money, especially helping demolition teams deal with stubborn homeowners, which brought some notoriety to the Three Killers Club—certainly not a good reputation, but regardless, the organization was still considered a minor faction.

But recently, there has been a frenzy of expansion; with more people and bolstered confidence, territory expansion began. Although no one knows the exact reason, Boss Liu analyzed that surely someone was backing the Three Killers Club from behind and they had received substantial financial support.

Actually, the operation of a faction really requires a lot of money. The more you earn, the more you spend, with the need to manage relationships in all aspects and use money to smooth things over everywhere. If there's no money, it would be very difficult to expand and grow.

As they talked, the conversation turned to Boss Liu. With a good location and high foot traffic, his bar was a prime target for the Three Killers Club, not only extracting protection fees every month but also their members frequently visited the bar and didn't pay for their drinks.

Boss Liu's wife suffered from a very rare hereditary family disease, which hadn't shown symptoms before they married. Boss Liu's wife had thought the inheritance had ended with her, but unfortunately, once they had a child, the disease manifested itself. What surprised them even more was that their young child also started showing symptoms of the hereditary disease.

Although Boss Liu had spent a fortune on medical treatments for his wife and child, there had been no improvement. On the contrary, it had emptied their savings, and with the condition worsening by the day, it seemed they might soon be out of options. Boss Liu decided to sell the bar and take his wife and child abroad in search of specialists, ready to spend all their remaining assets if that's what it took to heal his family.

After hearing Boss Liu's story, Ling Zhenfei and Han Lian were both moved. People like Boss Liu, who were caring and loyal, were becoming increasingly rare these days. To squander a fortune worth millions just to save the lives of his wife and child was truly the mark of a good man.

After listening, Han Lian looked at Ling Zhenfei, making him feel somewhat uneasy, unsure of what she meant.

"Boss Liu, taking your wife and child abroad for treatment, have you already found a cure?" Han Lian asked Liu Benchang.

"Not yet, but we've almost exhausted all options in China, so all that's left is to try abroad. I heard from Director Chen of Binyang Hospital that there's a hospital in Washington across the sea that has treated this disease. It cost a lot of money, and although the patient eventually passed away, they lived several more years. So, I too want to try my luck."

Han Lian smiled slightly, "Boss Liu, you're really confused. With over five thousand years of heritage in China, starting with Shennong, we've continually studied medicine. America's history is comparatively short; traditional Chinese medicine is extensive and profound. If the doctors you found can't cure your wife and child, it only means you haven't found the right person, not the 'Divine Doctor.'"

"Does Miss Han know where to find a 'Divine Doctor'?" Boss Liu was intelligent; with just a hint from Han Lian, he understood.

"That's correct, I do know a 'Divine Doctor,' and coincidentally, he's right across from you." As she spoke, Han Lian looked clearly towards Ling Zhenfei.

Shocked, Boss Liu stared at Ling Zhenfei, his face full of astonishment, but he soon started to express doubt because Ling Zhenfei looked far too young, nothing like a doctor, which made him skeptical.

"Brother Ling, are you truly a doctor?" Liu Benchang's eyes held a trace of uncertainty.

In fact, as soon as Han Lian mentioned traditional Chinese medicine, Ling Zhenfei understood what she was getting at, but he couldn't be certain of a cure, not even knowing what disease Boss Liu's wife and child had.

"Yes, Boss Liu, I am indeed a doctor, but you shouldn't just take Han Lian's word for it. Although I have treated some complicated diseases, I dare not claim to be a 'Divine Doctor.' I'm just a village farmer. If you have better treatment options, you should pursue those as soon as possible."

Seeing Ling Zhenfei's refusal, Boss Liu decided not to pursue the matter further; after all, he didn't really believe Ling Zhenfei could treat his wife and child's disease.

Realizing Boss Liu's intent, Han Lian, genuinely moved by his devotion to his wife, wanted to offer help. She said with a sigh, "Boss Liu, you might not realize how skilled Ling Zhenfei is at medicine, but meeting him today might just be your lucky break. It all depends on whether you can seize the opportunity. Just now, from what you said, you seem to know Director Chen of Binyang Hospital. Why not give him a call and ask if he knows someone named Ling Zhenfei, and see what he suggests?"
