Divine Doctor from the Start of the Eye Mutation

Chapter 579: Going Home

After leaving Jiang Ming, Ling Zhenfei went to see how Chu San was doing. Chu San's condition had already improved significantly; with proper medication and care, he would fully recover, so he was packing up to go home.

Upon seeing Ling Zhenfei walk in, Chu San hurried over to greet him, "Mr. Ling, I really can't thank you enough. You truly live up to the title of Divine Doctor—it's like the illness disappears with the medicine. Look, I'm completely better now."

Chu San's full recovery was within Ling Zhenfei's expectations, so he was not surprised.

"I came today just to see how you are doing. Knowing you're all right puts my mind at ease."

At that moment, Chu Yu also walked over, looking at Ling Zhenfei with admiration, almost seeming unlike herself.

From the first time Ling Zhenfei met Chu Yu, she had always given off a cool, jade-like aura.

Not extremely cold, but like a piece of beautiful jade, even warm to the touch, it nevertheless felt cool.

Especially towards Ling Zhenfei, from the beginning, she had been distant, hardly exchanging a few words with him, but after helping Chu San with his illness yesterday, Chu Yu underwent a significant change.

This change was visibly obvious, as Chu Yu appeared extremely excited upon seeing Ling Zhenfei.

"Big Brother Ling, have you had breakfast yet? I just bought some; let's eat together," she offered.

Ling Zhenfei hastily declined, saying, "I've already eaten, but thank you very much."

In reality, Ling Zhenfei hadn't had breakfast, and although Chu Yu was very enthusiastic, seeing the murderous look on Qi Tianyu's face, how could Ling Zhenfei have the nerve to eat?

He chatted with Chu San for a while, mainly advising him not to overwork himself and to prioritize his health.

Chu San, of course, agreed. Having been through such an ordeal, he understood the importance of his health even more.

After leaving Binyang Hospital, he drove toward the direction of the bar. Then, Han Lian called him.

Ling Zhenfei quickly answered the call, and Han Lian's voice came through, "If I had known, I would have asked you to come with me today."

"What happened?" Ling Zhenfei could tell that Han Lian wasn't in good spirits as she spoke.

Han Lian said angrily, "What else could have happened? Of course, something bad. With so many of us and being so well-prepared, we still let Tang Sen escape."

"Since mercenaries were hired, that means Tang Sen was prepared. It's normal that he escaped, so don't be upset," Ling Zhenfei comforted Han Lian.

Han Lian responded, "It's not that simple for him to just escape. We have already formed a capture team, and we're going after him immediately. I'm leading the team; we must catch Tang Sen and bring him back."

Ling Zhenfei was startled and didn't want Han Lian to go since he felt it was very dangerous.

Although he didn't know Tang Sen well, the fact that he hired mercenaries showed Tang Sen was not someone to be trifled with—a ruthless character. Han Lian wasn't a cultivator and had no spiritual power to protect her, which made it really dangerous.

"Can you not go?" Ling Zhenfei asked.

Han Lian paused, somewhat taken aback, "Why wouldn't I go? He escaped on my watch; it's my responsibility to catch him."

Ling Zhenfei thought for a moment before saying, "I have a few things I need your help with these next couple of days. If you leave, I won't have anyone to help me."

Of course, Ling Zhenfei didn't actually have anything that needed Han Lian's help; this was nothing more than an excuse he contrived, hoping to prevent her from pursuing Tang Sen.

"What could you possibly need my help with? We can talk about it when I get back," Han Lian said, laughing. She was overjoyed at the prospect of Ling Zhenfei needing her assistance.

"So, you're really determined to go?" Ling Zhenfei knew Han Lian's nature all too well

"Yes, I must go, and I need to leave immediately."

"Where are you? I have something I need to tell you in person."

"What important matter could it be that you can't say over the phone?" Han Lian asked curiously.

"How could I discuss such an important matter over the phone? Tell me where you are, and I'll be there immediately."

Han Lian said anxiously, "Why do you have so many things to deal with? I'm at the police station now, and I'll be leaving in twenty minutes. If you want to come, then hurry up; I won't wait for you if you're late."

"Alright, wait for me." After hanging up, Ling Zhenfei drove towards the direction of the police station.

He overtook countless cars en route, speeding all the way, and finally arrived at the police station within twenty minutes.

At the entrance of the police station, an Iveco van was parked upright, with Han Lian standing anxiously by the door.

Seeing Ling Zhenfei getting out of the car, Han Lian hurried over: "You're finally here; they're all on board except for me."

Ling Zhenfei saw Han Lian's readiness and realized that there might be no need for the face-to-face persuasion he had intended.

"Nothing much, I just prepared some elixirs for you, just in case."

Han Lian punched Ling Zhenfei and said, "Are you cursing me, Ling Zhenfei? You're giving me medicine when I'm about to leave."

Ling Zhenfei replied with a smile, "It's always better to be prepared. When you're on a mission like this, getting injured is quite possible. How can we not take precautions?"

"Of course, I'm not worried about you, but if Tang Sen gets shot, you guys can't just let him die, right? At least, if he takes my elixirs, he won't die."

While speaking, Ling Zhenfei took out the Nine Revolutions Resurrection Elixir he had crafted and placed it in Han Lian's hand.

Han Lian shook the little porcelain bottle in her hand and laughed, "There aren't many pills in here, you stingy."

Of course, Han Lian was unaware of how precious the Nine Revolutions Resurrection Elixir was, and even now, Ling Zhenfei was feeling a bit pained.

"Stop saying that. I'm waiting for you to come back safely."

Han Lian turned to get on the vehicle, but then turned back and said, "Thank you for everything today. I remember all the good things you did for me. And thanks for your medicine, too, though I hope I won't need it."

After saying that, Han Lian got into the Iveco, waving at Ling Zhenfei through the vehicle's glass, appearing to be in a very good mood.

The vehicle started immediately, heading off into the distance.

Watching the vehicle grow further away, Ling Zhenfei had no idea what he was thinking, only hoping that Han Lian would return safely and that the medicine he gave her would remain unused.

For some reason, Ling Zhenfei found himself excessively worried about Han Lian, like today, when he heard that Han Lian was going out of town to pursue criminals, he feared something might happen to her.

In reality, Han Lian was quite experienced in pursuing criminals out of town; she'd done it many times before. It was just that Ling Zhenfei was being overly cautious and caring today.

At this moment, Ling Zhenfei felt ridiculous contemplating whether he had developed feelings for Han Lian. Thinking about the girls around him, aside from Yang Zixuan, he realized that he had known Han Lian for the longest time. Perhaps affection grew over time.

Ling Zhenfei shook his head vigorously, casting aside all these thoughts, and then drove off toward his bar.

His bar was currently under renovation. The materials being used were of the highest quality, embodying the utmost luxury.

All sorts of equipment inside, including tables and chairs, and the style and material, were all designed by Zhou Tong himself.
