Luo Sanming was no longer the calm and composed man he usually was. Panic-stricken, he tried to scramble out of bed, wanting to get away from the corpses.

But just as he got up, Lu Feng kicked him back down.

He crawled around on the corpse-laden bed, leaving his fingerprints all over the bodies.

Finally, he rolled off the bed from the other side.

He quickly got up, a mix of shock and anger: "Song Guanchao, do you really want to push things this far?"

Song Guanchao sneered silently, quietly enjoying his final struggles.

At that moment, beams of light from car headlights shot through the bedroom window.

Luo Sanming jerked his head up, seeing police cars with flashing red and blue lights that had somehow entered the estate.

Car doors opened, and well-trained armed police officers poured into the estate hall.

The sound of footsteps grew closer, becoming more distinct.

Song Guanchao wiped the fingerprints off the handgun, walked over, grabbed Luo Sanming's wrist, and forcibly shoved the gun into his hand.

At the same time, Liang Jianfeng entered the bedroom with his team.

Song Guanchao immediately raised his hands and backed away, shouting, "Mr. Luo, don't kill me."

Lu Feng also played along, raising his hands and feigning terror: "Don't kill me."

Liang Jianfeng and a few officers nearby immediately pointed their guns at Luo Sanming: "Luo Sanming, drop the gun!"

Looking at the intruding police, Luo Sanming was almost infuriated to death.

He had been set up by Song Guanchao!

And he had willingly jumped into the trap!

He tightly gripped the gun, feeling the urge to shoot Song Guanchao on the spot.

But he couldn't, and didn't dare!

Several officers at the door had their guns aimed at him.

He had no doubt that if he made any move to raise the gun, they would shoot him dead immediately.

He took a deep breath, dropped the gun to the ground, and muttered, "Song Guanchao, I won't let you get away with this!"

With his back to Liang Jianfeng, Song Guanchao whispered: "Mr. Luo, don't get angry; it's not worth hurting your health."

Just then, the police rushed forward, pinned Luo Sanming down, and handcuffed him.

Noticing the gunshot wound on his shoulder, an officer said, "Mr. Liang, the suspect has been shot."

"Take him to the hospital. Captain Shi, follow him personally and keep a close watch! No visits or contact with the outside world are allowed without my permission!"

"Understood."

Captain Shi was bewildered when he suddenly received the action notice tonight.

He remained in a daze upon arriving at the estate, unsure of who the target was.

It wasn't until he saw Luo Sanming and Song Guanchao that he started to piece things together.

After Captain Shi took the people away, some officers looked at Song Guanchao, hesitated for a long time, and then asked, "Mr. Liang, should we arrest District Chief Song?"

Song Guanchao was now a suspect and wanted.

By logic, he should be apprehended.

"The suspicions against him have been cleared."

"Huh?" The officers were puzzled, cleared when, how?

Liang Jianfeng didn't offer much explanation as he had already noticed the corpses on the bed.

Song Guanchao said, "These corpses are of the missing female college students from the loan-shark case. The murderer is Luo Sanming. There should be Luo Sanming's fingerprints on the bodies. Mr. Liang, you can have them identified."

Only then did the officers notice the corpses on the bed.

The severely decomposed corpses were shockingly numerous.

They gaped in disbelief.

"Handle the bodies carefully, don't destroy the fingerprints."

After giving instructions, Liang Jianfeng headed outside.

When he and Song Guanchao came out together, the other officers were a bit surprised.

But seeing that Liang Jianfeng hadn't ordered any arrests, they suppressed their doubts and quietly followed.

Song Guanchao led them to the elevator, saying, "There are surveillance cameras in the estate. Mr. Liang, you can have someone retrieve the footage; it might be useful."

Liang Jianfeng gripped his walkie-talkie, giving orders.

The police were well-organized, thoroughly searching the estate.

A group of officers accompanied Liang Jianfeng into the elevator, descending to the basement.

"These are the female college students who were imprisoned."

"These are Luo Sanming's subordinates."

"That one lying on the ground is Ashan, a killer with several lives on his hands."

"I don't know the others; you'll have to interrogate them yourself, Mr. Liang."

Liang Jianfeng said, "You go wait upstairs, we'll head back to the station together later."

Song Guanchao signaled Li Zhijun and the others to follow him out of the basement.

They went outside the estate and squatted on the ground smoking.

Lu Feng said, "Boss, that old fox should be executed this time, right?"

Song Guanchao sneered, "Executed? That's too easy for him."

Lu Feng's eyes lit up: "Got any ideas, boss?"

Is he planning to take him out before the execution?

Song Guanchao replied, "This estate holds many secrets. With Luo Sanming caught, people all over Lingjiang's officialdom want him dead. If he survives till trial, it'll be a miracle."

Soon, He Sen was led out.

As he passed by, he paused: "District Chief Song, well played."

Song Guanchao glanced at him but said nothing.

Luo Sanming was indeed a beast, but He Sen wasn't any better.

The search continued until late at night, around eleven.

Song Guanchao and his group were also taken back to the police station for questioning.

Liang Jianfeng handed the video Song Guanchao had sent earlier to the forensic department and quickly announced Song Guanchao's innocence.

By early morning, the matter had concluded.

Lu Feng and his group were released, and Song Guanchao instructed them to bring Yang Hu and He Sen over.

He and Liang Jianfeng stood in the parking lot, smoking.

"Where's Qin Yuejin?"

"I don't know," Song Guanchao replied. "But I have his number. Now that Luo Sanming is caught, he doesn't have to worry about being silenced. I'll call him and tell him to turn himself in."

"Are you sure he'll surrender?"

"He has no choice."

Song Guanchao flicked away his cigarette butt, took out his phone, and called Qin Yuejin.

Qin Yuejin was probably asleep, but this call must have woken him up.

However, he didn't answer.

Song Guanchao knew what he was worried about.

After all, the phone in his hand was really his.

Receiving a sudden call in the dead of night, he would naturally be afraid to answer.

Song Guanchao didn't expect him to pick up; he just wanted to wake him up.

He sent a message: Director Qin, this is Song Guanchao, answer the phone.

After texting, he waited two minutes before calling again.

This time, it was answered.

Qin Yuejin's voice was hoarse: "You know I'm not dead?"

"Obviously," Song Guanchao replied, "At such a close distance, do you think I'm blind?"

"Are you going to turn yourself in, or should I send someone to catch you?"

"If I show up, Luo Sanming won't let me go."

"Literally, I've caught him."

"He committed murder, the evidence is ironclad. If you don't trust me, wait a few days and see it on the news yourself."

Song Guanchao couldn't be bothered to explain further and hung up.

About half an hour later, Lu Feng brought Yang Hu and He Sen over.

"It's getting late, Mr. Liang, I'm going to head home and get some sleep."

He got into Lu Feng's car, heading straight back to the abandoned villa, entering the room where Sister Lin was resting.

Sister Lin, a light sleeper, heard the noise and immediately sat up in bed.

Seeing Song Guanchao, she finally relaxed.

"Song..."

"Luo Sanming has been caught, you can go now."
