An invisible force cut through the water leaving a trail as thick as an arm that stretched for 3 metres then the force exploded.

The vessel spirit clapped. " You're not as pathetic as I expected you to be, but try to condense the force even more using your will."

He tried, again and again and just like that an entire month passed. During that month he had made significant progress.

The force only exploded after traveling for atleast 8 metres now which was more impressive than it sounded.

However during the past month he had noticed something else, he didn't really understand how his will stabilized the world.

Infact he had rarely used that ability nor had he met a lot of enemies that did. Everytime they fought the surroundings would be blasted by shockwaves.

According to the rusty toothpick which called itself his teacher, the world itself assist with that.

Apparently the world had a consciousness of sort. It wasn't true consciousness per se but more like instincts or rules it had to protect itself.

And one way of doing that is by instilling an instinctive ability to anybody who reaches a certain level of will manipulating, namely possessing soul sense.

Ofcourse this isn't meant for people of Ved's level, they are too weak to threaten the world. That ability is meant for the real powerhouses, those who stand at the pinnacle of the world, the world just lays the foundation early.

Ved was applying that ability to his moves but it was harder than he thought. While he could condense the force enough for it to atleast travel 8 metres without exploding he couldn't make it last longer than that.

However it really didn't matter much, the point was that he could direct the force into a single point which was all that mattered.

This was a close combat move, he had no intentions of attacking enemies from a distance with it anyways.

During the last month he had also learnt a few martial art moves from the spear, basically Kung fu. They had to be adjusted to fit his body but it worked.

Ofcourse he was not skilled at them yet but he had learnt to better control his body and it was time to put what he learnt into practice.

Ofcourse this was neither his idea or choise. His plan was to find a rank 3 beast and challenge it but the stupid spear ruined that.

Ved couldn't understand how it did it but it released a certain aura which was quite different from it usual aura, it felt more like a metallic elixir.

He first dismissed this action as one of the spear's quirks and now he was here facing a rank 4 strange looking creature because of it.

It looked like a lava snail, it body was covered in black metallic armour with a black snail shell on top that had holes, it had veins of fire running through it.

The ocean burnt and bubbled around the creature. However that where the similarities end.

It body was long like a centipede with hundreds of sharp legs, it had crab like claws on each side of it head and mandibles like an ant, two very long antennas that occassionally ignited with red flames.

On it rear was a long scorpion like stinger that dripped with red venom. It exuded an incredibly powerful aura rivaling that of old man Goldi.

Ved had grown significantly stronger than the last time he saw Goldi but he was still weaker than this thing.

He swam back slowly and asked the vessel spirit in a shaky voice. ' Oy, you rusty old thing what the hell did you just attract to me?'

The vessel spirit answered in a neutral voice like none of this had anything to do with it. " Ah, a lava metapede, I didn't think they still existed. This is still just a cub but you should probably run."

Ved didn't need to be told twice, he turned around and swam as fast as he could. He didn't even bother stabilizing the surroundings.

Infact he hadn't done that in a while so when he moved the water exploded from the sonic booms.

This created something akin to a smoke screen. His body zipped through the water like black lightning.

In a few moments he was already dozens of kilometres away and yet the lava metapede had not even moved, it glared indifferently at him with it red savage eyes.

This made his blood run cold then it moved. It body turned into a red streak that evaporated the water around it.

Ved sped up even more but no matter how fast he swam it was not enough, the lava metapede was still catching up to him. He turned his attention to the vessel spirit which was humming a tune.

' You stupid stupid rusty smelly spear, I swear upon the old gods if I die I will haunt you for all eternity. How the hell is this thing even an aquatic creature?'

The vessel spirit answered unhurriedly. " They're not, normally they would avoid going into water as that weakens them so this one must be very starving and living in an isolated island or something ."

Ved panicked even more. ' Then why is coming after me? there's plenty of food in the ocean.' the vessel spirit scoffed.

" These things don't eat flesh like you, their died consist of volcanic ash and stone, lava and mata..." Then it seemed to realise something.

"RUN RUN RUN YOU USELESS BEAST RUUUUUN." Ved realised what it was going to say and joy bubbled inside him.

' Ahahaha, you stupid old thing, it eat metal doesn't it? Ahahaha, man this great this is so fucken great, know that you brought this upon yourself."

The vessel spirit's expression changed. " What are you thinking? Don't you dare." Ved loosened the strings and the spear fell off.

It screamed and begged him to stop but he ignored completely. It was it fault this thing was here and he had no objections to sacrificing it for his own survival.

The lava metapede drew closer and closer to the spear. Ved made a silent prayer to the spear praying it becomes a better spirit in it next life.

However something unexpected happened. When the lava metapede reached the spear it completely ignored it and swam towards him.

Ved panicked then he heard the vessel spirit's mocking voice." Oh I forgot to mention, they love metal with fire or lightning attribute. Remind me again, what are you scales made of?" Then it laughed.

Ved's vision turned red from rage. ' FUUUUCK, I swear on Anubis's dog head you will pay for this.'
