Beast Evolution System: Devourer of Heaven

Chapter 91: Sucked in

" What an interesting child." Spoke a hulking giant of a man standing at 4 metres tall. He has reddish skin and six arms as wide as trees.

Three arms on each side, each pulsing with thick veins and muscles like steel. This was the king of the west sea. Krak-Arum, an old kraken.

" See, see, he's amazing isn't he?" Replied a feminine voice with childlike excitement, this was Ursela, her face was beaming with a proud grin.

" Yes he is indeed, but he has quite an appetite doesn't he and Ursela, this child's scent is a bit..." Said Krak-Arum with a strange voice.

Ursela's face turned serious. " I know, it's enticing, which is why I came to you because I know you're upright and just, the other two probably wouldn't waste a second to consume him."

" True, even I'm finding it hard to restrain myself." Ursela glared at him. " Old man, you better not try anything funny with my little brother."

" Don't worry, I wouldn't harm such a promising child for my own benefit but I can't say the same about that guy." Krak-Arum looked east, a glimmer of disgust appeared on his face.

Then he turned his attention back to Ved. " Oh look, he's heading east, it seems he has already reached the dimensional wall."

Ursela's face changed. " He's heading east?, do you think he has already discovered the crack in the wall?" She asked him.

" I..I don't think so, that shouldn't be possible right? It over 15 000 kilometres away, he can't possibly sense it from that far away." Krak-Arum answered skeptically.

Ursela grinned. " Don't put anything past him, he would surprise you. I should probably go though, in case he's heading for the crack."

" Yes, you should, do not forget, you still owe me for that ghost lily." However by the time his sentence ended Ursela was already gone.

Krak-Arum sighed, he doubted he was getting paid back.

Ved's POV

Ved placed his ear on the barrier and he heard a whistle, there were also micro vibrations from the barrier, like tiny heartbeats.

He turned his attention east, that where he heard the whistle was coming from. His curiosity got the better of him and he swam east.

His speed was relatively fast though he was not moving at full speed. In less than an hour he had covered 400 kilometres and reached Ursela's domain.

Occassionally he would place his ear on the barrier to listen and the whistle got louder the further east he went.

Unconsciously he continued swimming east as if he was drawn to the whistle. He didn't even notice that the aura of the ocean changed two days later.

He had entered a new territory. He continued swimming for a few more hundred kilometres into this new territory without even thinking about it.

The whistle and the vibrations got louder and louder until he saw it. Hundreds of metres in the air was a tiny crack, only the width of a finger and as long as a baby's arm.

This was the source of the vibrations and whistle. Even looking at it from only a few hundreds metres away he couldn't hear the whistle or vibration without placing his ear on the barrier.

The whistle was caused by essence being sucked into the crack, he could clearly smell it from this distance. The movement of essence suggested that, the volume of the world essence on the other side of the crack was less than here.

The vibrations on the other hand were from the barrier itself. Around the crack, the barrier was visible but it looked like transparent glass.

And it was shaking, he could've sworn the crack was widening but it still looked the same to him so he must've been imagining things.

Then he made his decision, he couldn't feel any threat from the crack, infact something told him, what he desired the most was on the other side of the crack.

But that made so sense, what he desired the most was to live a safe life, unless there's a lack of danger on the other side, then this feeling made no sense.

But he trusted those instincts, he couldn't understand them but as he grew stronger, so did they. The only downside was that they were off and on randomly.

Sometimes they warned him of danger and other times they did not. Right now they were telling him something dangerous was lurking in the shadows, that staying here any longer was not wise and beyond that crack was his greatest wish.

So he jumped towards the crack and outstretched his claw towards it. The moment his claw touched the crack, his body was sucked in and he disappeared.

Unbeknownst to him. Two beings were currently facing each other because of him. Ursela was standing in the air above the ocean.

Opposite her was a burly man clad in silver armour. This was Gandour, the king of the east sea. Of the four kings, Gandour was actually the second youngest and the most cruel and violent.

But he was strong, so much so that even Ursela was wary of him. Gandour had the most powerful body of them all, which made sense considering he was a dunkleostues.

His armour was too thick. Both of them stood at the edge of their domains and did not dare enter the domain of the other.

Ursela spoke first. " I advise you to not covert my brother Gandour." Gandour replied in a deep grating voice like the grinding of metals.

" Whatever is in my territory is mine for the taking, it's not your place to interfere Ursela, or have you forgotten the law of the four kings?." Ursela's voice grew cold.

" He's my little brother, he's not yours to do with as you see fit. If you dare touch him..." He interrupted her.

" What are you going to do if I touch him?" He asked mockingly in a challenging tone, his aura grew stronger and the air seemed to grow heavy around him. Ursela gritted her teeth.

" Do you think I'm scared of you, you big scrap of metal? If you have guts I dare you to come over here and fight me right now?"

Gandour scoffed." You want me to fight you in your domain? Do you think I'm stupid? Why don't you come here and fight me instead."

Ursela flexed her arm, her voice grew louder and more threatening. " Huh? What did you say, you ugly piece of a rusty tin, you want me to come over, I'll come over and beat your sorry ass senseless."

She threatened while balling her fist in the air. Then she calmed down and her rage filled face turned into a mocking grin.

" Ah Man, keeping you distracted was much easier than I thought it will be. It helped that you very dumb and hot headed."

Her voice was laced with mockery. Gandour turned to look back but Ved had disappeared. His body flickered and he appeared next to the crack.

He slowly outstretched his hand to touch the crack but instead of being sucked in, he was repelled. He heard Ursela's mocking voice in his ears again.

" Don't bother, you're too strong to pass through a crack that small, might as well give up and go whine under a rock." She laughed. Gandour's face contorted with rage.

What followed was a calamitous battle of giants that shook the skies and the seas. The source of all of this trouble had absolutely no idea of the mess his existence left behind.
