According to what the princess told him, there were a lot, almost uncountable, races in the universe.
But the most important were the top three.
The third strongest was the Titan Race, who could grow in size and presumably multiply their strength the more they advanced in cultivation and the longer they lived.
Their bodies were also eighty-five percent natural nullifiers against any energy-based attack.
The second strongest was the Witch Race, who could cast magic that killed beings far above their ranks.
They were considered the richest of all races due to their countless inventions.
Even the life-force grader in Earth was something they created, though at a very high cost.
They made potions, Mana Stone converters, controlled the universal net, and handled universal entertainment by using magic and machines to livestream battles across worlds.
And the strongest race of all were the Asuras, emotion-driven killing machines with no allies and no social interaction with the world.
As unbelievable as it sounded, it was said no being had ever touched or grazed an Asura in combat, let alone defeated one.
It sounded exaggerated, but after hearing their racial traits, Aron understood why people believed it.
- 99% nullification of any energy-based attack
- Bloodline experience sharing
- God-level fighters
-Use of Qi force (inner energy) instead of mana
But nothing shocked him more than the bloodline experience sharing.
If an Asura was an expert knitter, their child would be born already knowing how to knit like an expert.
And if that child had kids, they would inherit the experience of both the father and grandfather.
The skill would keep stacking down the generations.
Aron could only marvel at how exaggerated and stupid the talent was.
And apparently, that was all that was publicly known about them.
Naturally, his curiosity sparked as he wondered what juicy rewards could come from such a race.
With this, he finally understood the grand scale of things.
He suspected Solara was in the same dormant stalemate Earth once was in.
If he was right, Solara was still in its awakening phase, hidden and protected by the universe until it officially opened.
According to Helena, that awakening period could last anywhere from two hundred to five thousand years.
A waiting period he had absolutely no intention of sitting through.
As he mulled over his thoughts, he sensed a maid approach the guard outside, whisper something, then walk away.
Knock. Knock.
"Come in."
The guard entered, bowed to the princess, and reported, "His Majesty invites you both to dinner."
Aron stood. "Lead the way."
He followed behind the guard, the princess trailing after him with puffy eyes from her earlier tears.
Soon they arrived in a large dining hall where the king and queen sat at the lead table.
The princess bowed before sitting.
Aron didn't bother with any fancy, he simply grabbed a seat and sat down, eyes focused on the royal couple, who looked more relaxed than earlier as they prepared to start eating.
"Don't waste my time," Aron said bluntly.
"I'm not here to play around. Tell me how I can unbind your daughter so I can continue on my way."
The king shot him a disapproving glare, but the queen placed a calming hand on his lap.
Aron noticed everything through his senses.
From what Helena explained, he understood why kingdoms soul-bound wives to their husbands: to prevent betrayal.
Aron thought it was both a dumb and reasonable idea.
Dumb, because he would never soul-bind his daughter's life to someone's.
Reasonable, because if he had done that to his ex-wife, she wouldn't have dared betray him.
And after learning how the ritual worked, Aron knew such a tradition wasn't something easily undone.
"Guard, escort the princess to her quarters," the queen ordered.
Helena stiffened, her ears practically stretching to listen for how the unbinding worked.
"Mother, I haven't..."
"Go to your quarters. That is an order."
King Raim's authoritative tone shut her up instantly, and the guards escorted her away.
"There is a secret technique to unbind you from our daughter," the king said. "But a single item is missing from the ritual. It can only be found in a cave within the Familiar Plane."
"We would have sent someone," Queen Joda added, "but each person can only enter the Familiar Plane once in their lifetime. That leaves only you."
"Tell me how to get there and how to find the item," Aron said.
"The formation that will take you is being prepared," the queen replied, producing a necklace. She held it out toward him. "This will lead you to the item."
Aron leaned back and stared at them as if they were idiots.
"And how am I supposed to be sure the formation will actually take me to the Familiar World and isn't a trap?"
He picked up the cup in front of him and twirled the drink inside, though he didn't take a sip.
His eyes remained fixed on the royal couple, who were clearly caught off guard by the question.
After a moment, Aron pushed his chair back and stood.
He wasn't about to place his life in the hands of anyone.
From what Helena told him, breaking a soul-bound was nearly impossible.
The only reason he had even considered it was because he thought his life was also bound to the princess.
Learning it was one-sided erased any urgency instantly.
His gut warned him.
And he wasn't going to be a dumb manga protagonist who trusted strangers and stepped into mysterious formations as if nothing could touch him.
For all he knew, it could be a trap meant to freeze him for eternity.
Sure, he knew he was overpowered, but he wasn't stupid enough to think he was immortal.
He had been betrayed before, and he wasn't risking his life.
