Chapter 205

"This secret was brought out of the Forbidden Land of Inheritance by the geniuses of our family many years ago. Only by obtaining the true inheritance can these secrets be fully understood."

Eunice's voice was steady but her eyes betrayed the weight of generations of caution. "As to why we do not rush to hunt the treasures below Sun Moon Lake, it is because according to the inheritance records, opening the sealing formation will cause heaven and earth to move, triggering strange phenomena."

Ethan's gaze remained sharp as she continued, "You have resided in Sun Moon City for some time."

"You must know that once these strange cosmic occurrences take place, the Pavilion of Heavenly Secrets will inevitably intervene to seize the treasure."

"With their overwhelming strength, even if the three major families united, confronting the Pavilion head-on would be nearly impossible."

Eunice's words held the careful wisdom of a guardian of secrets. "Once you open it recklessly, isn't it like making a wedding gift for others?"

Ethan thought quietly for a moment.

Visions of heaven and earth, strange cosmic flows—these were dangers he did not fear.

He was not bound by anything in the Sun Moon City; he was alone here, untroubled by allegiances or politics. His goal was simple: seize the treasure and disappear before they even knew he was here.

With his power and his trump card, even Oswin of the Pavilion could not hold him.

Therefore, he paid no heed to these warnings, focusing instead on the greater problem: how to unlock the sealing formation itself.

After a moment, Ethan fixed his cold gaze on Eunice.

"Is there anything else?"

"No," Eunice replied, "this is all I know regarding Sun Moon Lake."

"As for what treasures lie within those ancient ruins, the little girl does not know."

Ethan's mind churned.

Eunice's words rang true, but they didn't fully align with what he had gathered.

She insisted the Stormjade bloodline was the key to activating the formation—but clearly, the Emberveil family's blood power could also do so.

It dawned on him.

"Is it possible the Stormjade family doesn't know that the Emberveil bloodline can activate the formation as well?" Ethan wondered silently.

"You will come with me to Sun Moon Lake," Ethan stated firmly.

Though he had the information he needed, he could not allow Eunice to leave.

What if she returned to her family and reported everything?

While the head of the Stormjade family was no match for him, the family still boasted an ancestor who had reached fifth-turn Mahayana realm.

If the entire family mobilized, it would spell waste of time for Ethan.

"Very well," Eunice nodded reluctantly.

She had no choice. There was no room to resist Aether's power.

Ethan chuckled silently; she was wise to choose obedience.

This was her only way out.

Though Eunice had acquiesced, Ethan further sealed her cultivation as a precaution.

"Let us go."

Standing, Ethan jumped out of the pavilion window, Eunice following.

They arrived at the city outskirts.

"Wait here."

Ethan flicked his fingers, weaving a small trapping formation around Eunice.

"What are you doing?"

"You'll understand soon enough," Ethan replied, leaping towards the horizon and vanishing into the dusk.

Eunice sat silently in the forest, her mind racing.

Time passed in silence until the dying sun painted the mountains gold.

Then, a sudden rush of wind heralded Ethan's return.

He descended, carrying one person in each hand.

Eunice's sharp eyes discerned the forms immediately: Cecilia Emberveil, sixth elder of the Emberveil family, and Chrome Silkrain, third son of the Silkrain family.

Cecilia was exquisitely formed, her beauty rivaling Eunice's own.

Moreover, she held exceptional cultivation talent and had risen to her family's elder position at a young age.

Eunice envied her—not for her graceful form, but for the gift of talent.

With such potential, Cecilia would be cherished and nurtured by her father and the clan elders. She would gain status, rights, and a measure of freedom.

Eunice understood well that in their world, strength and power carried privilege and liberty.

Without talent, even as the eldest daughter of the Stormjade family, her future would be one of submission—a sealed fate of marriage without status.

"Mr. Aether, what are you doing?" Eunice asked in a whisper.

"Get some rest." Ethan was suddenly behind her before she could react, and a gentle strike to her head sent her into unconsciousness.

Then, he took out the Chaos Clock.

"Receive."

With a ripple of mental energy, Eunice and the others were drawn inside the artifact.

The storage ring was cramped and incomplete—humans barely fit.

But such an artifact could accommodate them.

Ethan didn't select just any descendants from the Silkrain and Emberveil families.

He specifically chose direct descendants to ensure the purity and potency of their bloodline needed to unlock the sealing formation.

Having gathered his precious cargo, Ethan left Sun Moon City behind.

He made a wide arc and circled back to the valley housing Sun Moon Lake.

Night had fallen, the sky a cloak of ink.

The moon was dark, the wind wild—perfect conditions for a covert operation.

Ethan melded with the earth using the Earth Escape technique, vanishing from sight.

Half an hour later, he resurfaced at Sun Moon Lake's depths, arriving at the stone slab's center.

A wave of his hand summoned the Chaos Clock, releasing the trio.

Eunice, knowledgeable about the situation, remained calm upon waking.

She was surprised only because Ethan had brought her directly to the lake.

Chrome Silkrain, groggy, coughed twice.

He had just survived three hundred rounds fighting a courtesan at a brothel before arriving here.

His eyes darkened, and he passed out briefly.

When he opened them, he found himself in an unfamiliar environment.

He scanned around and soon realized: this was the bottom of Sun Moon Lake!

"Eunice, Aether, Mr. Aether?" Chrome's eyes widened at the sight of the ghost mask.

Hastily, he raised his hands in salute, "I have met Mr. Aether."

"I brought you here, just stay here," Ethan instructed curtly.

Chrome Silkrain rolled his eyes in confusion.

He had no idea why Aether had brought him here, nor how he had bypassed the sealing formation's defenses.
