"I want all five of these top-grade Mahayana Pills!"
Ethan's voice rang out like thunder across the auction hall.
In an instant, the atmosphere of the Treasure Appraisal Conference erupted into its highest peak yet. Gasps, exclamations, shock, disbelief—every emotion surged through the venue like a tidal wave.
"Hahahahaha! Ethan, do you really think everyone here and the Myriad Treasures Pavilion are fools? How dare you claim three thousand spiritual marrows with just your mouth?" Noel Ashenvale sneered with open ridicule.
Beside Ethan, Althea looked up with gentle concern.
"Junior brother, do you have so much spiritual marrow? If not, I can give you some."
Ethan shook his head lightly, his expression calm like still water.
"It's just a little spiritual marrow—no need for Senior Sister to take action."
In the neighboring box, Rain, Magnus, Zeon, and Roan were gathered together.
"Three thousand spiritual marrows isn't a small amount. Does Brother Ethan have that much? Should we help?" Magnus asked, sipping tea with steady composure.
"Brother Ethan is not reckless. If he dared to bid like this, he has the confidence," Rain replied, arms crossed, voice firm.
"But three thousand spiritual marrows is a lot…" Roan murmured.
Zeon scoffed proudly. "Don't worry. You have no idea how rich Brother Ethan is."
He said it casually, but inside, he was still shaken by Ethan's wealth.
He had seen it firsthand. Not just three thousand—Ethan could toss out three thousand top-grade spiritual marrows and not blink. Zeon suspected that Ethan might actually be richer than him, a realization that wounded him deeply.
With that kind of wealth, Ethan's background was definitely extraordinary—far from ordinary, even if he pretended otherwise.
Meanwhile, Noel Ashenvale's voice echoed again:
"What are you waiting for, Manager Lana? Are you planning to shield Ethan?"
Lana's violet eyes flickered with thought.
"What kind of game is this boy playing? Three thousand spiritual marrow is no small amount. I hope he can produce it."
Then she replied aloud, voice crisp and authoritative: "What nonsense, Mr. Noel? Myriad Treasures Pavilion has always been fair and just."
She turned toward Ethan. "Since Mr. Noel has questioned Mr. Ethan's financial ability, let us ask Mr. Ethan to prove it."
Although Lana supported Ethan, the formal procedure had to be followed.
Ethan lifted his hand slightly.
"Three Spiritual Heart Stones."
Three streaks of brilliant light flew through the air and landed before Lana.
The auction hall fell completely silent.
Lana picked them up, her eyes widening slightly. The rich, pure spiritual energy radiated outward, unmistakable. The stones were flawless, smooth, and undamaged.
"Good heavens…"
Even prepared as she was, she could not hide her astonishment.
One Spiritual Heart Stone could be exchanged for one hundred top-grade spiritual marrows—or one thousand ordinary ones.
Three stones equaled exactly three thousand spiritual marrows.
Lana composed herself and announced clearly: "Mr. Ethan has bid three Spiritual Heart Stones. Does anyone wish to offer a higher price?"
Silence.
A stunned, heavy silence.
Not only had Ethan displayed incredible talent and killing prowess before—now he revealed staggering wealth. Many cultivators stared with widened eyes. Even among the major factions, Spiritual Heart Stones were precious and rarely used in auctions.
Noel Ashenvale's face darkened instantly.
He didn't _want_ to believe Ethan could produce such stones—but the truth gleamed plainly before everyone. Even from afar, he could sense the pure spiritual essence in them.
Noel swallowed. "Brother… Ethan really brought them out…"
Karl Ashenvale gave a low laugh. "This boy is truly surprising."
"Then should we continue or give up?" Noel asked.
"Give up," Karl replied decisively.
"It's only a top-grade Mahayana Pill. No need to waste our spiritual marrow."
"Understood."
Though his heart burned with humiliation, Noel forced himself still.
Karl leaned back leisurely and spoke in a low, meaningful tone: "You think we suffered a loss, don't you?"
Noel and North Ashenvale exchanged confused looks.
Karl's smile deepened. "Ethan can produce three Heart Stones. What does that mean? He is rich—very rich. When the Treasure Appraisal Conference ends, as long as we kill him, everything he owns will belong to the Ashenvale family."
He chuckled coldly. "To kill an unknown Dharma Body Realm cultivator and obtain such vast resources—shouldn't that make you happy?"
The two younger Ashenvales eyes lit up with realization.
Their elder brother was right.
No matter how much Ethan shone today, no matter how wealthy or talented he appeared—once he died, everything would fall into their hands.
Even Solara, the Divine Beast Phoenix, would be theirs.
"Big brother truly has foresight," North Ashenvale praised.
When the crowd saw no further bidding from the Ashenvale box, they knew they had conceded.
The first auction item had ended—with Ethan victorious.
He had shown strength.
He had shown wealth.
He had shown dominance.
And now—
He held five top-grade Mahayana Pills.
"Since no higher bid has been made," Lana announced, "these five top-grade Mahayana Pills belong to Mr. Ethan!"
She lifted her small hammer to seal the result—
But before it fell, a cold, clear voice drifted across the hall:
"I will offer two Heart Stones to purchase three top-grade Mahayana Pills. I wonder if Mr. Ethan can endure the pain and give them up?"
The hall turned as one.
Gasps rippled like thunder.
"Eldest daughter of the Stonebridge family!"
"The temporary saint of the Holy Land of Endless Mountains!"
"Ranked number one on the Heaven Prodigy List!"
"She is the highest among the five holy families!"
"And she's clearly helping the Ashenvale family suppress Ethan!"
"If she intervenes, Ethan might be forced to give up three Mahayana Pills!"
Ethan narrowed his eyes, activating his Heaven-piercing Mind Eyes.
A woman cloaked in golden radiance sat with unshakable elegance. Her aura burned with metal and fire. Her blood essence surged fiercely. Her cultivation…
"Such blazing aura—innate spiritual fire. And her essence and blood are extraordinary. Likely Nirvana level."
"Double cultivation of spiritual energy and body—it's rare."
Ethan assessed quietly.
Both her physical body and spiritual level had reached the Nirvana and Mahayana realms.
This was the first time Ethan had seen such a genius.
