The violent wave of air rolled through the bronze hall, causing the ancient structure to tremble violently.
The pillars hummed, reliefs flickered with demonic light, and dust fell like rain.
He stood at the center of it all.
Luke.
Master of the Blackspire Mountains.
Sect Master of the Heavenly Demon Sect.
Only a few days ago, he had successfully stepped into the Perfect Supreme Realm. He had sealed himself beneath the Demon Ancestor Altar, suppressing joy, stabilizing his cultivation, waiting for the day he would announce his breakthrough to everyone.
But now—
All joy had vanished.
Only rage and confusion remained.
"Rules and restrictions exist within the Training Trial Secret Realm," Luke said slowly, his voice heavy and cold.
"Everyone is suppressed to the peak of the Ninth Turn Mahayana."
His brows furrowed deeply.
"Under such conditions… who could possibly kill Luca?"
Luca was not an ordinary disciple.
He was the Holy Son of the Heavenly Demon Sect.
A peerless genius who had awakened the innate ancestral pattern.
A demon who carried multiple life-saving trump cards.
The three sword talismans Luke had personally refined were enough to shake even an Ultimate Supreme.
And yet—
All three soul jades had shattered.
Luke clenched his fist.
The fragments bit into his palm, but he did not feel pain.
"Impossible…"
He took a step forward.
"Demon Rakshasa Eyes—open."
Between his brows, a vertical purple eye slowly opened.
A dense, ancient aura filled the hall as the demonic pupil rotated, releasing a beam of cold, strange light. The soul jade fragments floated upward, glowing faintly lavender.
The beam struck them.
A light curtain unfolded in the air.
But what appeared within it was distorted—fragmented images, broken shadows, blurred silhouettes drowned in scarlet mist.
Luke's expression darkened.
"So the laws of the Training Trial Secret Realm are interfering…"
The secret realm had been created by an Emperor Sage. Though it had decayed over time, its core laws remained intact. Even a Perfect Supreme could not casually peer into it.
Luke stared at the light curtain for a long time.
Then, slowly, his lips curled into a cold smile.
"No matter who you are…"
"If you killed my disciple, you will die."
.....
Within the Training Trial Secret Realm.
A silent cave lay hidden deep within a mountain ridge.
Scarlet mist drifted endlessly outside, thick with killing intent. The night showed no sign of lifting, as if dawn itself had been devoured.
Inside the cave, Ethan sat cross-legged upon a stone futon.
Three or four hours had passed since Luca's death.
His breathing was steady.
The violent consumption from the previous battle had fully recovered, and his body and energy had all returned to peak condition.
"Huh…"
Ethan exhaled softly and opened his eyes.
A faint blue glow flickered within his pupils before fading.
He glanced toward the cave entrance. The murderous tide continued to churn outside, refusing to dissipate.
"The nights here are far too long," Ethan thought calmly.
He raised a hand and reinforced the space barrier sealing the cave entrance. Though the murderous tide could not affect him, caution had long since become instinct.
Only after confirming the barrier's stability did he extend his palm.
A jade bottle appeared.
Nine colors shimmered across its surface.
The Nine-Colored Soul-Living Bottle opened.
Two figures were released.
Kara landed lightly, her expression instantly alert. She scanned the surroundings and quickly realized this was no longer the cave where Luca had imprisoned them.
Her shoulders relaxed slightly.
"Junior Brother Ethan," she asked softly, "where are we?"
Ethan did not answer immediately.
Instead, his gaze shifted—quiet, sharp, and measuring—toward Morwen standing beside Kara.
This woman was Kara's disciple.
She was also the Saintess of the Black Demon Sect.
And to Ethan, that alone was enough to warrant caution.
He believed in a simple principle.
Those not of one's own race—or faction—could never be fully trusted.
"Master?" Morwen asked hesitantly, confusion written across her face.
"What happened… when did you have a junior brother?"
"And is he really Ethan of the Azure Origin Dao Sect?"
"Where is Luca? Where are the others?"
Her questions tumbled out one after another.
"Luca and the others are dead," Ethan said calmly.
"I killed them."
The words were flat.
Cold.
Final.
Morwen's pupils shrank violently.
"Dead…?"
Her heart pounded.
She had known Ethan was strong—terrifyingly strong—but to kill Luca?
The Holy Son of the Heavenly Demon Sect?
That existence had crushed both her and her master with nothing but presence.
When she thought back to the cave, to the moment she had believed her fate sealed, a chill ran down her spine.
Yet now—
That nightmare was gone.
Ethan had ended it.
"Thank you… senior," Morwen said after a brief silence.
She clasped her hands and bowed deeply.
Her gratitude was genuine.
She was half-human, half-demon, born in a border village of the Skyreach Territory. When demons invaded, she had been abducted as a child, her parents vanishing without a trace.
It was Kara who had rescued her.
Kara who had raised her.
In the Black Demon Sect, she had never truly belonged.
She followed her master—not the sect.
Ethan nodded faintly. "No need."
Morwen straightened and looked at Kara, curiosity burning in her eyes.
"Master… what is really going on?"
Kara was silent for a moment.
Then she sighed.
"It is a long story."
Her gaze flicked briefly toward Ethan, understanding his unspoken concern.
Morwen could not simply be ignored.
But neither could she be trusted blindly.
After a pause, Kara spoke again.
"Morwen," she said slowly, "I want to ask you something."
"Yes, Master."
"I intend to leave Blackspire Mountain after this trial," Kara said.
"To go somewhere else and live freely."
"If you are unwilling, I will give you the Black Demonic Order after we leave this secret realm and send you back."
Her voice was steady.
But there was weight behind every word.
Morwen did not hesitate.
"I do not want to return to the Black Demon Sect alone," she said firmly.
"I am only willing to follow Master."
"Wherever Master goes, the disciple will go."
She paused, then added quietly—
"Even if it is the Azure Origin Dao Sect."
Kara's eyes softened.
Morwen was not foolish.
From Luca's words, from Ethan's actions, she had already guessed the truth.
The man before her was likely the same Ethan whose name shook the Skyreach Territory.
She had been surprised.
But not unwilling.
The Black Demon Sect had never been a home.
Even after her master became the sect master, she still could not fully control the Black Demon Sect and remained deeply ostracized by some of the elders.
