My College Teacher is My Children's Mom

Chapter 188: In Business You Need to Have a Thick Skin!

「Five days later.」

Lin Feng called the workshop owner, who said there were still some finishing touches that wouldn't be done until around noon on the sixth day. Leaving in the afternoon was perfectly fine for Lin Feng and wouldn't affect his travel plans. But with plenty of time and no need to rush, he decided to depart the day after.

Bright and early on the sixth day, Lin Feng went to check on the final work. Despite the tight schedule, the finished product was excellent. It was essentially an extended protective canopy that enclosed the entire deck. Lin Feng was quite satisfied. After settling the final payment, he and the owner agreed to work together again if the opportunity arose.

When Lin Feng got back, he called An Lan and Liu Bo to let them know they could come over.

This wasn't the quadruplets' first time on a yacht. However, the last time they were here, they were just tots who couldn't walk. This time, they could run all over the place. Zhang Yuxi was very pleased with the new canopy design. This way, she wouldn't have to worry about the babies' safety on deck. Now, with the gate locked, the babies could play to their hearts' content.

Zhou Cuilan learned they wouldn't arrive until the next day, so she put all the ingredients she had prepared into the refrigerator, planning to cook once they arrived. At noon, she called Lin Dashan, urging him to hurry to the east bank marina to pick up their son's family. Realizing they might be short-handed, she told Lin Jie to watch the stove while she also drove over. Sure enough, two cars were just the right amount of space for everyone.

After they got home, Lin Jie came out to help with their things. Once everything was put away, it was time for lunch.

His mother watched her adorable grandchildren run around the house, a joyous smile spreading across her face. To prevent the babies from getting bumped or scraped while playing, all dangerous items had been cleared away, leaving the living room wide open. Sharp knives, forks, and other such things in the kitchen had also been put away. Even the door and windows to the storage room were locked tight to prevent the curious toddlers from getting in, rummaging through things, and hurting themselves.

It had been a while since their last visit, so the babies seemed a bit unfamiliar with the place.

Lin Jie teased them, "Do you remember who we are?"

The fourth baby, the most enthusiastic and not at all shy, toddled right over.

Lin Jie picked him up and asked, "Who am I?"

From the side, the third baby suddenly piped up, "Little Uncle."

"San Bao is so clever! You guessed it right away," Lin Jie praised him.

The third baby just smiled, seeming not to care much for the compliment, and went back to playing by himself.

The second baby crawled over, also crying out, "Little Uncle!"

She had a small yellow flower in her hair and was wearing a yellow floral-print dress. That, combined with her curly hair and big eyes, was enough to make anyone's heart melt. Oh my, Er Bao is so beautiful, so, so adorable!

Lin Jie held the second baby. "Er Bao is so cute!"

She giggled. "You're handsome!"

Lin Jie was surprised. "You think I'm handsome? Then who's more handsome, your daddy or me?"

Without a moment's hesitation, she replied, "Daddy's handsome!"

Lin Dashan, who had overheard, came over chuckling. "Well then, let me ask you, is Grandpa handsome?"

The second baby thought for a moment. "Old."

Lin Dashan smiled and pressed, "Old people can be handsome, too!"

The second baby ummed and ahhed for a moment, then after some thought, said, "Ugly."

Her reply made both father and son burst out laughing.

The eldest baby trotted over to Zhang Yuxi. "Mommy, poopy, poopy..."

As it happened, Zhang Yuxi was in the bathroom setting up their little potties. Each potty was a different color, and the babies could already tell which one was theirs. Because of this, Lin Feng had bought several identical sets, and he'd brought one to their home in Meicheng. Hearing her son, Zhang Yuxi quickly picked up the eldest baby and brought him to his little potty.

Zhou Cuilan saw Zhang Yuxi standing by the door, seemingly waiting for something. Just as she was about to ask, the fourth baby arrived, followed by the second...

See? Multiples do have things in common. Going to the bathroom at the same time is definitely one of them.

Zhou Cuilan went to find the small washbasins; she had kept everything the babies had used during their last visit. "The pink one is for the girl, and the blue is for the boys."

The two women cleaned up the babies together and gave their little bottoms a gentle pat.

"Off you go and play."

Zhou Cuilan then mentioned something. "I saw a few children yesterday who were over a year old, and our babies look so much bigger than them."

"They do seem a lot bigger than other kids their age," Zhang Yuxi agreed. "A lot of people ask if they're a year and a half old!" She added, "I don't have anyone to compare them to, so I thought they seemed fine. A year and a half feels like a bit of an exaggeration, though."

Zhou Cuilan nodded. "They really do look like they're eighteen months old."

Zhang Yuxi paused. Do they? I hadn't noticed.

Meanwhile, Lin Feng had also brought over the babies' own tableware. To make mealtimes easier, Zhou Cuilan had bought four high chairs. They were the height-adjustable kind, which was very convenient. The babies sat in a row, waiting patiently for their food.

Lin Dashan teased them, "My little grandbabies get more adorable and lovable every time I see them."

"Dad, Mom, Lin Jie," Lin Feng announced, "we have a rule at our house: no talking during meals."

"Okay," Lin Dashan said. "No problem."

Lin Feng explained, "The babies are older now and more mischievous than before. With a few chatterboxes in the mix, they could talk for ages!"

The well-behaved and quiet third baby was certainly not one of those chatterboxes. Lin Dashan playfully tapped the other babies' noses and said with a chuckle, "I don't even have to ask, it's definitely you lot!"

When it was time to eat, the babies seemed used to the rule and ate quietly. A few of them occasionally exchanged glances, wanting to speak, but were silenced by a stern look from Zhang Yuxi. While the old saying goes 'a kind mother and a strict father,' their family was the opposite: a kind father and a strict mother. It couldn't be helped. Lin Feng spent so much time with the babies and was so easygoing that Zhang Yuxi had to take on the role of the disciplinarian. Gradually, the couple had fallen into this pattern.

Unsurprisingly, the third baby was the last to finish. He showed no signs of being flustered, leisurely finishing his meal and wiping his little mouth before going off to play.

Lin Dashan had been eager to play with his grandchildren, so he quickly finished his food. "You all take your time."

Zhou Cuilan waved him away, then said to Lin Feng, "Yu Zheng and the others are coming back. They're taking the high-speed train."

Lin Feng was surprised. "My brother didn't mention this to me."

"He only told me today," Zhou Cuilan said with a smile. "He bought tickets for today."

Lin Feng had already told Yu Zheng and the others about the party, but he hadn't expected them to actually come back for it.

Zhang Yuxi smiled. "My parents are coming this time, too."

Zhou Cuilan was absolutely delighted. "That's wonderful! I've really been missing your mom."

After the meal, Lin Jie went to do the dishes. Since they were combining the first birthday party with Lin Jie's college acceptance celebration, there were bound to be some of his classmates attending. Lin Feng thought about it and decided to set up two different themes: one side for the acceptance party and the other for the birthday party, with separate seating areas.

Then, Lin Feng remembered someone—the event planner who had organized the babies' half-year celebration. The owner had not only attended the party but had also been treated to a meal at the Sheraton Hotel, leaving him feeling quite pleased. When should I call Lin Feng? I wonder if he'll let us handle the one-year-old party, too? In business, you need to be bold. How can you make money if you're too timid?

"Mr. Lin, how about this? I know it's inconvenient for you to come to me with four babies," the planner said over the phone. "I can bring my staff to your home, and we can discuss the details there. What do you think?"
