My College Teacher is My Children's Mom

Chapter 269: Educating Children is Not a Matter of Timing!

Zhou Yi saw that Erbao wasn't shy with strangers and said with a smile, "Can Auntie hold you?"

Erbao immediately snuggled into her arms and said sweetly, "Auntie, you smell so good."

The tiny child felt as soft as if he had no bones, so comfortable to hold.

Damn, I really want to have a little angel like this!

Song Tian'er, green with envy, looked over at the liveliest of the bunch, Sibao. "Little one, which baby are you?"

"I'm Sibao!"

"Then can I hold you?"

"Okay!"

An Lan teased from the side, "Getting envious? If you like them so much, go have one of your own to play with."

Zhou Yi, unwilling to let go, simply straightened Erbao's clothes and rolled her eyes at An Lan. "Who am I supposed to have one with? I haven't even met anyone yet!"

Seeing Lin Feng approach, Zhou Yi exclaimed in a hushed voice, "Holy shit, Yu Xi, your husband is so damn handsome! But," she added grudgingly, "he's just a little less handsome than my idol."

Song Tian'er glanced over. From a distance, she could only tell he was a good-looking man. But now, up close, he was devastatingly handsome. He wasn't just attractive, he also had a great physique. And his aura was absolutely magnetic! There was even a faint, pleasant fragrance drifting on the breeze—so unique and very nice!

Lin Feng, holding a backpack in one hand and toys in the other, gave Zhou Yi and Song Tian'er a slight nod.

Zhang Yuxi smiled. "Let me introduce you. This is Zhou Yi, and this is Song Tian'er. And this is my husband, Lin Feng!"

As Zhang Yuxi introduced Lin Feng, her eyes sparkled.

The corners of Lin Feng's mouth lifted into a gentle smile. "Hello, I'm Lin Feng, Zhang Yuxi's husband."

"Hello!" Zhou Yi nudged Zhang Yuxi's shoulder and greeted him with a grin. "Hi there. I heard from Yu Xi that you'll all be staying in Modu until after the New Year. Modu has changed a lot, so I'll have to take you for a proper tour when I have time. I was too rushed to bring any gifts for the children today, but I'll definitely make it up to them next time."

Song Tian'er nodded in agreement.

Zhang Yuxi laughed. "You're being too formal."

Zhou Yi chuckled. "Well, I was too slow to claim the spot of head godmother, but the number two spot is definitely mine! So, the gifts are a must!"

Zhang Yuxi didn't argue further. "In that case, I'll thank you in advance."

Zhou Yi took out her phone and glanced at the time. "No need to thank me. As long as the kids thank me, that's enough! It's getting late, and I have to get back to work on a proposal. I'll treat you all to a meal when I'm free."

An Lan grew anxious. "You'd better make it quick, then. I have to go back to Yangcheng before the New Year."

Zhou Yi laughed. "And what does that have to do with me?"

An Lan shook her fist playfully. "Believe it or not, I'll knock you out!"

Zhou Yi dodged. "The kids are watching! Don't be a bad influence."

An Lan lowered her fist and huffed. "Just you try not treating me to that meal!"

Zhou Yi pretended to shiver, though her expression was defiant. "Ooh, I'm so scared."

An Lan pouted. "I'll pummel you!"

Zhou Yi bent down and waved to the children. "Auntie has to go now. See you next time, bye-bye!"

The quadruplets all waved their little hands and chimed in unison, "Goodbye, Auntie!"

Song Tian'er smiled. "I'm leaving too. Goodbye, little ones!"

"Goodbye, Auntie!"

As the two women walked away, they discussed their route.

"Subway or taxi?" Song Tian'er asked.

Zhou Yi shook her head. "No money for a taxi. Let's take the subway. I bought a laptop for over 20,000 yuan at the beginning of the month. I'm so broke I can't even afford to eat dirt."

Zhou Yi worked in project planning and had high standards for her computer equipment. Any laptop she used would cost at least ten to twenty thousand yuan. Both Song Tian'er and Zhou Yi came from fairly well-off families. In a first-tier city like Modu, their parents ran small businesses. While not among the super-rich, they were comfortably well-off, with savings of several million yuan.

Zhang Yuxi felt the gathering had gone quite well. Perhaps because An Lan had done such a good job breaking the ice, everyone had chatted happily, and there was no sense of awkwardness at all.

"I'm going to do some shopping. Want to come?" An Lan asked.

Lin Feng checked the time. "Not today. I should get back and cook. The kids must be getting hungry."

As if on cue, Sibao immediately chimed in, "Daddy, Sibao's tummy is hungry!"

An Lan waved a hand. "Alright then, I'll go look around on my own. I need to see what I can buy for employee benefits. A few gifts should help boost morale."

「Back at home」

Zhao Lizhen and Zhang Fuyong hadn't returned yet. Zhang Yuxi played with the quadruplets in the living room while making a couple of calls.

"Dad, are you coming home for dinner?" she asked. "You're not? Okay."

She called her mother next. "Mom, Dad isn't coming back for dinner tonight. What about you? Oh, you're not coming home either? Okay, well, come back early."

After hanging up, Zhang Yuxi called toward the kitchen, "Honey, Mom and Dad aren't coming back for dinner. How about we just have noodles?"

"Okay!" Lin Feng's voice called back.

The adults and the babies all had tomato and egg noodles. The only difference was the preparation for the children. Their tomatoes were blended into a smooth purée, and the eggs were scrambled until tender and then minced into tiny, baby-friendly pieces. Their noodles were also broken into small segments, making them easy to eat with a spoon.

Once Lin Feng finished preparing the quadruplets' dinner, he portioned it into small bowls and set them aside to cool. By then, the noodles for the adults were ready, too. Taking advantage of the brief lull, Lin Feng started simmering a lotus seed and pork stomach soup for the children. By bedtime, it would be ready, and each of them could drink a little.

The quadruplets ate well. Except for Sanbao, who was a little slow, they were all very well-behaved.

After dinner, Zhao Lizhen returned home.

As soon as she walked in the door, she was greeted by the sight of her little darlings rushing toward her. She was absolutely delighted.

"Oh, my dears, Grandma's back! Are you happy to see me? Look what Grandma bought for you! TA-DA! Toys! Do you like them?"

She had brought several bags full of toys. The moment she revealed them, the quadruplets cheered.

"Here, this one's for Dabao, this one is for Sibao..."

After handing out the toys, Zhao Lizhen reminded them, "When you're done playing with your own toy, you can trade with each other. But no fighting, understood?"

Sibao, clutching his new toy, started telling Zhao Lizhen about finding the money earlier that day. Once he began, the other babies gathered around their grandmother, all vying to tell their part of the story. Putting together their excited, jumbled accounts, Zhao Lizhen managed to piece together what had happened.

She felt incredibly proud and hugged her grandchildren with boundless affection. "You did the right thing. We can't take money that doesn't belong to us! That goes for anything you find. If it's not ours, we must return it to its owner. If you lost something one day, wouldn't you hope that whoever found it would return it to you? Just as we hope others will be good people, we must strive to be those good people ourselves."

Zhao Lizhen knew they were still too young to fully grasp the lesson, but it was never too early to start teaching children right from wrong.
