My College Teacher is My Children's Mom

Chapter 73: Partnership in Opening a Store

Seeing this, Lin Feng broke out in a cold sweat, his soul nearly leaving his body. He rushed to the bedside and found that Dabao had already rolled onto the floor. Luckily, the floor was covered with a thick blanket; if it had been a hard surface, the baby would have definitely been hurt. Lin Feng quickly bent down, picked up Dabao, and carefully examined him. He finally breathed a sigh of relief after confirming he wasn't injured.

"You little troublemaker," Lin Feng said, pretending to be angry as he patted Dabao's bottom. He placed him back in the crib. "Dad looks away for one second, and you start making trouble."

Dabao yawned, signaling that he was sleepy. Watching him fall into a deep slumber, Lin Feng returned to bed, cuddling Zhang Yuxi as he drifted into dreamland.

「The next day.」

Lin Feng got up early as usual to prepare breakfast. After they ate, everyone was ready to leave.

Lin Dashan and his wife had bought tickets for the eight o'clock high-speed train. After giving Lin Feng a few instructions and saying a final goodbye to Zhang Yuxi, they hurried off. Sun Rou had a ticket for the afternoon, so she was still in bed sleeping in.

Zhang Fuyong and Zhao Lizhen had a ten o'clock flight. As they were leaving, Zhang Fuyong could no longer hold back his tears, his eyes turning red.

"My dear girl, come back and visit more often when you have time."

Zhang Yuxi nodded. "I will."

Although Zhao Lizhen was reluctant to part with her daughter and grandsons, she knew that children grow up and have their own lives. "The internet is so advanced now," she said. "If we miss you and the grandsons, we can just video call."

Lin Feng took out a small box containing Dragon Phoenix Rejuvenation Pills. "Mom, Dad, this is a tonic I had a friend buy. It can strengthen the body. If you ever feel unwell, just take one."

Zhao Lizhen accepted it gratefully. "Thank you, child."

Lin Feng smiled and waved a hand dismissively. "There's no need to be so formal. Just take good care of yourselves from now on."

Watching them leave, Zhang Yuxi felt a pang of sadness.

Lin Feng held her hand tightly, comforting her. "It's okay. From now on, you'll have me and the babies to keep you company, so you won't be lonely."

Zhang Yuxi leaned against Lin Feng and hummed softly in agreement. And with that, it was time for her to go to class.

After lunch, it was Sun Rou and Chuan Chuan's turn to say goodbye.

"Lin Feng, I'm taking Chuan Chuan back. Let's keep in touch."

Lin Feng stroked Chuan Chuan's head and said softly, "Chuan Chuan, when you get back to Suzhou-Hangzhou, remember to call your uncle, okay?"

Hugging Sun Rou's leg, Chuan Chuan nodded obediently.

After seeing off the last of his guests, Lin Feng sat on the sofa, the sudden quiet feeling strangely unfamiliar. The babies' half-year banquet was over, and his relationship with his in-laws had eased. Now it's time to focus on my career!

Even with the System's help, I'll never have to worry about money again. Still, having my own career is very important for a man.

Toward evening, An Lan called. She told Lin Feng to prepare dinner, saying she was coming over to eat.

"You didn't go back with Uncle An and the others?"

"Nah, Modu is boring. I want to hang out with Yu Xi for a few more days."

Lin Feng was speechless. I thought An Lan went back to Modu with her parents! I can't believe she's still in Yangcheng.

Since An Lan had made her intentions clear, Lin Feng couldn't very well neglect her. He drove to a nearby market and bought a large bag of ingredients. Back in the kitchen, he got to work with great vigor. Today, he specifically made Eight Treasure Duck, An Lan's favorite.

Eight Treasure Duck is a classic dish from Modu, though it originally came from the Suzhou-Hangzhou region. Later, it was recreated by the City God Temple in Modu with additional ingredients like Li Zi, diced bamboo shoots, and ham. The resulting Eight Treasure Duck had a thinner skin and was easier to steam. Therefore, it suited the tastes of Modu's residents and gradually became famous far and wide. An Lan loved this flavor, and Zhang Yuxi, also being from Modu, was a big fan of it as well.

An Lan went to the university to wait for Zhang Yuxi so they could go home together. When they returned to the villa, Lin Feng had already prepared the meal.

An Lan looked absolutely famished. "You have no idea how much I've been craving your Eight Treasure Duck these past few days! And your braised pork is truly top-notch!"

She devoured the food ravenously, savoring every bite.

Zhang Yuxi looked on helplessly. "Eat slower! Aren't you afraid you'll choke?"

"I can't…" An Lan shook her head repeatedly, continuously stuffing food from the table into her mouth. "Chef Lin's cooking is just too delicious! You can't blame me for this!"

Lin Feng felt a surge of pride at An Lan's praise.

After finishing her meal, Zhang Yuxi went to feed the babies. Lin Feng sat at the dining table, waiting for An Lan to finish so he could clear the table.

"Lin Feng, how about we partner up and open a restaurant? I'll find a location and manage the shop, and you'll be in charge of training the chefs. We'll split the profits fifty-fifty, and you won't have to invest a dime," An Lan said excitedly after wiping her mouth.

Lin Feng considered it for a moment. "Let me think about it."

An Lan had studied English in university and occasionally took on translation jobs after graduating. However, her monthly salary of around ten thousand yuan was nowhere near enough to cover her spending habits. Her father had planned for her to join the family hotel business, but she had rejected the idea. Zhang Yuxi had mentioned this to Lin Feng before.

"Why are you suddenly thinking of opening a restaurant?"

An Lan puffed out her chest and declared heroically, "I want to seize my youth and really go for something. If you don't stir things up when you're young, are you going to wait until you're old? I'm afraid my body wouldn't be able to handle it then…"

Actually, An Lan had another very important reason for wanting to open a restaurant: Lin Feng's extraordinary, God-level Culinary Skills. To this day, she had never tasted cooking as exquisite as his. Furthermore, he was skilled in various regional cuisines. Whether it was Cantonese, Shandong, Sichuan, or Modu's local dishes, he handled them all with ease. With his guidance, the restaurant is guaranteed to make money!

Just yesterday, Dad and I talked a lot about this. If Lin Feng wasn't already so well-off, Dad would've made him a generous offer to be the executive chef at our family's hotel! Her father's idea gave her a flash of inspiration. I can't hire him as a chef, but partnering to open a restaurant should be fine, right?

"Chef Lin! I'll be waiting for your answer, then."

Seeing Lin Feng's hesitation, An Lan didn't rush him, instead giving him plenty of time to think.

「That evening.」

Lin Feng brought up the matter with Zhang Yuxi.

Zhang Yuxi smiled. "If you don't want to partner up, just let me know, and I'll tell An Lan."

Lin Feng stroked her hair. "It's fine. I'll think about it."

I was just thinking today about getting a business off the ground, he mused. With Liu Bo handling the children's clothing store, he didn't need to worry about it at all. Now that he possessed God-level Culinary Skills, if he wanted to open a restaurant, An Lan was undoubtedly the best choice. Firstly, her family owned a hotel chain, so she had experience in the industry. Secondly, she had a great personality and was good friends with Zhang Yuxi. If he partnered with her, then Zhang Yuxi would have another friend to talk to in Yangcheng.

This is a perfect case of killing two birds with one stone!
