*******
This is the original card effect of the Golden Ship.
Actually, as a 1-star card, such an effect is already somewhat overpowered.
Therefore, when facing an alternate art card, Shen Sui is a bit reluctant to give up this effect. Alternate art of follower cards can entirely inherit the effects of the original card, just like Hali, whose alternate art card is a copy of the initial effect, with some subtle enhancements made by Shen Sui.
However, unlike Hali, the star level of the Golden Ship card is rising, so while inheriting the original effect, the card can also accommodate more possibilities. Thus, Shen Sui intends to personally add a little more effect to it.
What is the biggest issue his deck is facing right now?
There isn't a single universal retrieval card.
Common universal retrieval cards are usually based on fields, race, attributes, or monster types.
Life Card Duel lacks the latter three, making fields the primary retrieval target, and this broadens the retrieval range in Life Card duels compared to other card games like Yu-Gi-Oh.
Its retrieval fields won't judge whether it's from the same family or not, as long as the name includes the same root, it will forcibly retrieve it.
This actually is a huge loophole for fake card creation.
For instance, Shen Sui's [Dragon Cancer], forcibly retrieves using [Dragon] as the field. In Yu-Gi-Oh, monsters with [Dragon] in their card names aren't necessarily from the Dragon Race, but [Dragon Cancer] is different.
Even though it is dragon cancer, when it comes to retrieval, it can forcibly retrieve mechanical dragons, dragon knights, and so forth.
In such an environment, the lack of fields in Shen Sui's deck is quite fatal.
His current deck construction is actually quite complex.
Followers centered around Mutated Fish King Paiyiga can form a systematic field.
Followers centered around Armed Puppet Suoya and Sacrificial Puppet can form another systematic field.
When Follower Cards from Qishala's side start to flush, dragons can officially become a retrieval field in Shen Sui's deck.
This makes it difficult for Shen Sui to arrange a single universal retrieval card to cover all the above followers.
Besides, his deck also includes hard-to-retrieve followers like Anna, Oshana, and Aina.
However, in Life Card duels, what's most important are the Soul Cards.
The significance of Soul Cards in Life Card duels is akin to that of the extra deck in Yu-Gi-Oh; once detached from the Soul Card, it's very hard for a Life Card deck to truly enhance its strength.
Expanding from this, why does a retrieval card have to rely on fields? That's because directly retrieving any follower card is a very powerful effect, hence it must be limited to be executed on Life Cards.
If there are already huge activation condition restrictions, why should I still be confined to field-restricted retrieval?
So, by adding a restriction that is difficult to achieve multiple times on the card, can I bypass the field restriction to achieve universal retrieval?
Shen Sui looked at the [Pure White Holy Steed Golden Ship] in his hand, observing its directed retrieval of Alice effect, and suddenly had an idea:
In Life Card duels, what mechanism is restricted to usually being performed once per turn?
Form Transformation.
I have an idea.
Shen Sui's lips curled up.
He found a way to conduct uniform retrieval within such a complex deck style.
So he raised his hand and added one more effect under effect ① of the [Pure White Holy Steed Golden Ship].
Compared to the previous state, the 5-star card surface is indeed much easier to modify. Shen Sui already had a draft idea, and he completed the addition of the card's effect without spending much energy.

Card Name: [Pure White Holy Steed Golden Ship]
Category: Follower Card
Star Level: 5 Stars
Effect: ① Once per turn, during your Main Phase, you can draw a card from your deck. If it is not [Magic Apprentice Alice], you can special summon [Magic Apprentice Alice] from your deck. As long as this card exists in the graveyard, when [Magic Apprentice Alice] leaves the field, you must activate, placing one card from your hand on top of your deck;
② As long as this card exists on the field, when [Alice] on the field undergoes a form transformation, you can activate, special summoning a follower card from your deck. The star level of the follower special summoned by this method must be the same as the star level of the transformed [Alice] on the field.
Spirit Value: 100
*******
Good.
Shen Sui's idea is becoming clearer.
Due to the mechanism that the form transformation of the same Soul Card can only happen once per turn, the ② effect of the Golden Ship doesn't even need to include a once per turn condition to be implemented on the card surface.
So, the retrieval becomes quite simple for him.
He could even perform a complete setup and build-up.
Through the Golden Ship's special summoning of Alice, then using the Golden Ship as a core to continuously activate Life Card effects to switch Alice's form, subsequently, through the effect of the Golden Ship, special summon followers of corresponding star levels from the deck.
This retrieval method has only two difficulties.
One is how to retrieve the Golden Ship, and the other is how to switch Alice's form.
This is why Shen Sui wants to suppress the Spirit Value of the Golden Ship to 100, even lower than the original card.
Due to the presence of Puppet Follower Cards, the number of followers with a Spirit Value under 100 in Shen Sui's deck isn't small, so printing a Life Card with a feature to retrieve creatures below 100 Spirit Value has considerable benefits.
Moreover, based on this retrieval card, some of Shen Sui's powerful future follower cards can meet the retrieval condition by restricting their Spirit Value to below 100.
"Is this thing's Spirit Value below 100?!"
Shen Sui has already started to anticipate opponents exclaiming in disbelief.
5 stars, 100 Spirit Value.
The two retrieval characteristics of the Golden Ship match many follower cards in Shen Sui's deck, which is intentional on Shen Sui's part.
After the retrieval issue of the Golden Ship is resolved, the next issue is how to switch Alice's form multiple times within a turn.
For Shen Sui, this isn't much of a challenge, as his deck already includes Life Cards with similar effects.
[Infiltration Disguise]

Card Name: [Infiltration Disguise]
Category: Spell Card
Star Level: 2 Stars
Effect: Once per turn, when the opponent activates a card effect or declares an attack, you can activate, allowing a multi-form follower on your field to undergo a form transformation.

This card is too passive; Shen Sui needs more effects that can actively trigger form transformation.
Thinking this way, Shen Sui raised his head, looking at the card in his undeveloped library that could be modified.
His gaze landed on a card:
[Dual Identity].
