The Zombie Lord tried to fight against the encirclement of the Juggernaut Mechs.

It swung wildly with its own version of Pile Bunker, trying to destroy one of them, but the mechs stayed out of reach, maintaining perfect spacing.

"Left flank! Overload your Gatlings for five seconds! We'll force an opening!" Xyrille commanded.

"Roger that!

The leftmost Juggernauts complied… Then, their twin Plasma Gatlings activated!

A concentrated energy burst across Lithe's side, burning through its chest and shoulder.

Zombie Lord Lithe howled in agony, but the assault didn't stop there.

The right flank switched fire mode as ionized rounds shot through its legs, crippling its movements. Every time it tried to strike, another plasma volley met its limbs, forcing it back!

Nonetheless, it was a Zombie Lord for a reason! It was still alive!

"Now! Pulse Field… At maximum output!" Xyrille shouted.

Her Juggernaut stomped forward and slammed its shield into the ground. The Aegis Pulse Field activated once more…

Then, an expanding surge of magnetic energy erupted outward, disrupting Lithe's movements!

"Just kill this thing!"

The other five Juggernauts opened fire simultaneously, their coordinated plasma barrage converged into an inferno. The shockwave from the combined impact shook even the distant watchtowers.

When the smoke cleared, the upper body of Zombie Lord Lithe had been reduced to molten fragments. The rest of its corpse collapsed into the dirt, and soon, a confirmation was made.

[ You have eliminated a Lord-Tier Zombie. ]

Bony Scourge: Increases any type of explosive damage by 15% and grants a 15% boost to damage against regenerating-type Zombies.

"Target neutralized…" Xyrille reported as she saw the message.

Cloud's voice echoed through the comms.

The Juggernaut Team gathered, as they needed to cool their weapons…

But before they could relax, the ground trembled again.

Bell was still alive! Its regeneration was accelerating so fast!

"Keep firing! Don't give that thing a second to breathe!" Garren shouted through the comms.

The Vanguard Team shifted into formation, surrounding the massive crater where Zombie Lord Bell was regenerating.

Its four arms were already stitching together and reforming the bone plates across its body.

"Spectre Warheads--ready!"

"Plasma Lances--full charge!"

Dozens of projectiles were sent on Bell's surface.

Soon, the temperature rose as concentrated energy gathered at the Vanguard cannons.

"Fire!"

Just like that, beams of plasma converged into one blazing point, and it hit Bell's torso!

Boom!

The ground split apart and cracks started spreading outward….

But Bell didn't die quietly.

The four-armed abomination let out an earth-shaking roar, while slamming its arms down to create another field of black bone spikes.

"Brace! Brace!" Garren yelled.

Two Vanguards raised their shields, blocking the first wave, but the spikes pierced through, impaling one unit's shoulder joint.

Thud!

"Unit-05 is losing hydraulics! We can't hold much longer!"

"Switch to manual override! Everyone else! Target the arms!"

The remaining Vanguards adjusted their aim, firing in sync.

Each beam or projectile cut through one arm at a time… In just a few seconds, it started melting the grotesque limbs until only burning stumps remained.

Zombie Lord Bell was definitely angered as it tried to summon more bone matter, but the Mechs didn't give it a chance.

"Scorched Earth again! Execute on my mark!" Garren commanded.

"Mark!"

All four remaining Vanguards vented their plasma reserves at once.

Soon, beams of light consumed the area. For a full ten seconds, the area burned.

When the light faded, only half of Bell's body remained. It tried to crawl, still trying to regenerate, but the Juggernauts had already arrived.

"Juggernaut Team, finish it." Xyrille said as she was already tired of this.

Her squad surrounded what was left of Bell.

Then, their pile bunkers were triggered as blue energy formed across the spikes.

"Execute synchronized strike."

Thump! Thump! Thump!

Without any hesitation, six impact spikes plunged through Bell's head and torso!

The Zombie Lord barely had the chance to dodge and was soon eliminated.

[ You have eliminated a Lord-Tier Zombie. ]

[ Confirmed. Remaining Horde Count: Unknown. All units, initiate cooldown cycle. ]

Cloud reminded.

The Juggernauts and Vanguards slowly retracted weapons as they retreated to the shelter.

But their reprieve didn't last long.

The earth began to rumble again.

The distant horizon shimmered with countless red eyes.

"Another wave incoming…" Xyrille muttered as she looked at the swarming Zombies.

For the next two hours, the Mechs, Warden Units, the Turrets, Snipers, Elves, and many more defensive units fought relentlessly.

The endless tide of zombies surged from every direction…

Corrupted Tyrants, Bloodmarked Howlers, and Infested Stalkers flooded in all directions…

Even with superior firepower, fatigue began to set in. Systems overheated. Ammunition was starting to take a huge hit…

Then finally… as the third hour began…

The horde stopped.

The endless moans or groans of Zombies had finally faded…

Even the system seemed to have realized that it was getting too much.

[ Red Night Event Remaining Duration: 21 Hours. ]

[ Temporary Break Period Initiated. ]

Shane sighed as he looked at his soldiers…

"At least they're giving us a break…"
