"Alright I think I understand it now. The great mother connects not only the world of plant life but also offers a way for everybody, even humanoids like you and me to connect with it, drawing power from the world to strengthen our own reserves."
The young elf clapped in her hands. "Yes! You get it, we all share the world with the plants and they find a way to grow almost everywhere! From the grass on the ground, to the trees that pierce the sky. The moss, lichen and mushrooms in dark caves and the vast oceans too are filled with plant life! The great mother allows us to connect with it and, if you're respectful, you can draw magic from the world." The elf explained with reverence while slowly sliding the next pearl on a strand of hair.
"When you entered the jungle we felt your connection to the great mother, not only from you but also from the magical creatures that follow you." The elf looked to the two big plant monsters and the mass of flower men that were currently helping with the defense of the city and manual labor.
Liliane followed the elf's gaze and smiled. "Yeah they're good company to keep around, I really love them. They helped me out so much during my time and I wouldn't live without them any longer. I'm actually preparing to make the third creature! I'm super excited to see what I create this time! Do you think the others would help me with that?" The petite redhead smiled and the pearls in her now straight hair clink against each other.
She had grown a lot in the last few weeks and now that the final stretch of the tutorial had started she wanted to be as prepared as possible before she returned to earth. A shudder ran down her back as some memories resurfaced, at one point not long ago she got a bunch of weird system messages and she could remember things from her former life she would rather forget forever.
Her eyes wandered to her level and the classes she got.
Name: Liliane West Race: Human Level: 27 Class: Dream Gardener Subclass : Verdant Bloomweaver - Level 33
[Dream Gardener] [A master of illusions and subconscious influence, planting ideas and weaving vivid dreamscapes in others' minds. They excel at inserting subtle suggestions that can grow into powerful convictions over time. By combining their dream magic with allies' skills—such as enchantments or mental manipulation—they create devastating synergistic effects. Their ability to blur reality and fantasy makes them elusive and unpredictable. The Dream Gardener's influence can turn the tide of battle by shaping perceptions and sowing discord from within the mind.]
[Verdant Bloomweaver] [ Seen as artists of plant-based creation, the Verdant Bloomweaver grows sentient plant monsters that enhance and support the creator's abilities. They harness the power of nature to shape living, breathing allies from various plants, each with unique traits. These plant monsters synergize seamlessly with the creator's other skills, amplifying their power and versatility. Through their bond with nature, Bloomweavers bring life to the fierce creations. While not a quick solution with enough time they can create almost anything to fit specific roles and needs of the creator.]
Shortly after arriving in the forest she managed to upgrade her class and with the help of the Wildwood elves she leveled up even a bit more. Now with her new class she could feel the emptiness inside of her, there was still room for a new connection to be born. She already talked with the matriarch about possible plants to use for that connection. The matriarch was very supportive and helped her out a lot when upgrading her class, reaching the level alone was so much faster with her help. Now that she decided to help Liliane with her creation she couldn't wait for evening to arrive.
While Lily and Gustave are wonderful companies she has learned so much more now, not only from her skills but also from the elves. She wanted to do something that wouldn't be possible alone, something big and bold. Once the sun vanished behind the horizon the matriarch approached Liliane. She wore a cloak made from leaves, a staff clutched in her hand, on her head rested a crown made from polished antlers.
"It's time young one, I picked the perfect plant for you. The great mother guided me and through her I found one eager to wander around." She smiled. "You will be surprised when you see it. Even I hadn't expected this one to be so…willing." Liliane smiled and jumped to her feet, following the matriarch through the hanging city, they rode an elevator to the forest floor and continued walking in silence for some time.
More elves followed them, sneaking through the trees or openly walking and riding after them to see what was happening. The matriarch led Liliane to one of the big guardian trees but the one they stopped in front of was still young and a mere shadow of the guardians keeping watch over the jungle. Even then it still reached several meters into the air and had a thick trunk, the bark tough and resilient.

Liliane looked up to it, the tree looked healthy and strong so the smile on her face was one of genuine joy, not the one she used to make situations more bearable for herself. Her gaze wandered to the matriarch. "Thank you for giving me the opportunity to try this, I will do my best. I promise."
The matriarch smiled and nodded. "When we talked I didn't know if your idea would work but the great mother gave me permission, this is one of the trees we bury our companions under, the animals we grew up with and reached the end of their lives. Their souls still burn with the desire to be free and now this tree seeks the same freedom with that burning passion."
She stepped forward and rested one hand on the tree, her skill exploring the plant in front of her, she could feel the strength of it, the wish to be molded into something more and there was a name, Sylvara. The tree was ready to become more so Liliane would gladly give her what she desired to become.
"Alright, I would need some space and silence please, this is the biggest creation I try to shape into something great." The elves took a few steps back, curious how her magic would change the tree.
Taking a deep breath she knelt in front of the tree and rested her hands on its roots. She closed her eyes and activated her skill. While the activation was handled by the system it was her job to guide the skill to the right place. She learned a lot since creating Lily. Like focusing the magic on specific areas could bring different results, increased strength when focused on trunk and branches, increased intelligence when focused on the nervous system of the tree, the roots. More magical powers when focused on the leaves.
Liliane's focus was on the roots and the treetop, wanting something intelligent and able to cast magic, even if she couldn't be sure it would actually get these abilities it was worth a try. But while working her magic she found the connection of the tree to all the skeletons that got buried under it and so she included those, having the roots absorb the remains and integrating them in the process. Slowly a picture formed in her mind and the tree started to align with that form.
The trunk turned into a pale white, reminding one of bones, the bark looked rougher and the whole tree compressed itself becoming thinner. Around one third up the trunk split in two, forming into legs. Suddenly the bark exploded outward where they legs met again, a mixture of bark and roots expanded outward from the tree and wove itself together into a flexible sheet that wrapped around the tree, looking like a skirt made from living bark.
Next the two biggest branches increased in size while moving downwards, stopping when they reached a place you could call the shoulders that were still forming, the tree bulging out a bit to give the whole creation a more womanly shape. Especially because the tree formed something akin to a chest and waist.
The branches that reached out to the sky folded over, running down the back of the tree like flowing hair, the leaves turning black and grey. Finally the head of the tree formed, becoming more round and two white eyes opened from the bark. A nose formed from a cut of branch and just below a mouth that ripped itself open in a zigzag line, the creature taking a deep breath like a human would.
What stood before Liliane was a treant, a female treant to be more precise. Long flowing branches formed her hair, the body was shaped like an hourglass with a chest and hips that didn't leave much imagination of what it should represent, a skirt made from root and bark surrounded her slender legs, ending in rather human looking feet. The rough bark moved around a bit more, becoming one flat polished surface of white wood instead. The treant woman reached out and grabbed a young tree, the moment her hand touched it the tree turned the same pale white as her, becoming straight and the leaves fell out, in their place black flames burned a moment later.
Liliane stepped back and smiled, inspecting her creation.
[Ghostflame Treant] [Ghostflame Treants are ancient, pale treants with a towering form and black leaves that shimmer like shadows against their bark. Their presence exudes a quiet, mysterious power, and their eyes glow softly in a soft white. They possess the unique ability to control Ghostflame, a mysterious black flame that flickers with ethereal energy and cold, haunting light. They use their ghostflame to ward off threats, illuminate dark places, or summon spectral energies. Deeply connected to the spiritual and natural worlds, they embody the delicate balance between life and death.]
The matriarch walked towards her and looked up to the treant that stood in the place of the young guardian tree. "It seems the great mother picked well. This is a true guardian of our deceased friends, may she serve you well on your travels young one."
The young redhead nodded, she could feel the connection between them grow stronger and while the treant couldn't talk on her level she was sure that it was possible someday. With a smile on her lips she hugged the treant's leg and closed her eyes. Nobody could stop her now.
