Chapter 83: Six Emotional Corruptions

After surviving the Heart-Bleed Ascension, Liu Wei's Demonheart Seed started beating in unison with the real heart, forming a double pulse — the Blood Demon Pulse.

The first Blood Chain (Heart Chain) automatically manifested, marking entry into the Pulse of Chains stage.

Liu Wei recognized he had now gained initial control over Blood Qi circulation independent of breathing or will, a foundational trait of later Blood Dao arts.

However, to recognize he has a successful foundation in the Foundation Establishment Stage, Liu Wei immediately looked for the signs that must be present according to the Blood Demonheart Sutra.

He asked the System, "System, can you confirm if all the signs are present?"

[Understood…

The Crimson Pulse sign is present. Your heartbeat resonates like a drum and nearby qi subtly bends to your rhythm.

The Bloodmist Aura sign is also present. There is a faint reddish aura exudes during exertion, which is an uncontrolled leakage of Blood Qi.

The Corruption Harmonization sign is present. The corrupted or yin energies no longer injure your body, and never have been as you are able to control the yin efficiently, and instead they nourish your body.

Lastly, the Heart Stability sign is present. Emotions stabilize into eerie calm, so anger and sorrow feed Blood Qi instead of disturbing it."

Liu Wei nodded and smiled.

He was beyond elated that he had now entered the Foundation Establishment Stage.

The Demonheart Seed and Heart Blood Chain were finally established, granting the body its first taste of endless Blood Qi circulation.

He mumbled, "I am now considered a true Blood Path cultivator, with the heart acting as both furnace and fetter — the cage and the key of my demonic ascension."

Liu Wei smiled.

He would not deny that becoming a demon was not really he wanted to and especially expected to become.

However, since he did not have a choice and he could have become a demon, not those who suddenly become an uncontrollable maniac, but a sane one, he was fascinated and has now accepted it.

Now, Liu Wei was more than ready and excited to cultivate the Stage 2, Pulse of Chains.

Although he has now attained the Foundation Establishment Stage in his Blood Demonheart Sutra and needed to attain the Foundation Establishment Stage of the Verdant Cauldron Sutra, so he would finally and officially be in the Foundation Establishment Stage, Liu Wei wanted to form the first shackle first before attempting on the Verdant Cauldron Sutra.

Liu Wei then prepared himself on opening the first shackle.

He had the information in his head, and all he had to do was to follow the instruction given by the Blood Demonheart Sutra.

Now that he had finally formed his Demonheart Seed, he must guide the Blood Qi that pulsed with Demonheart Seed through his heart meridians.

Guiding them was easy for Liu Wei.

He then compressed the Blood Qi and refined it to a dense, chain-like current.

Liu Wei took it easy and eventually, he perceived the first faint Blood Chain that takes form within his heart's meridians, the embryonic Heart Chain.

Now, to solidify the chain, he must confront and master one of the six emotional corruptions: Rage, Fear, Greed, Lust, Pride or Sorrow.

Each of the emotional corruptions referred to each shackles.

For the First Shackle, the Heart Shackle, he must temper his rage, the most dominant emotion born from the Heart-Bleed Ascension's pain.

As Liu Wei entered in one of the six emotional corruption, the Rage, he suddenly lost his consciousness and found himself in a familiar place…

"Where am I?"

"Are you awake now, Young Master?"

The child-looking Liu Wei looked up at his butler, who was standing beside him.

He looked at him and asked, "Uncle Bai Ping… Where am I?"

Bai Ping, the butler, merely smiled at him and said, "You fell asleep reading, Young Master."

Liu Wei was stunned.

He immediately gazed below and discovered tons of books on the table in front of him.

There were many of them.

Suddenly, staring at them one by one, he began to recall what he read.

After a minute of dazing, he mumbled, "Strange. It feels like I was in a long dream."

"Have you entered the books, Young Master?"

The child-looking Liu Wei gazed at Bai Ping and nodded slowly.

He said, "A fiction one. You know, that kind where martial arts ruled over the world."

Bai Ping was stunned.

He chuckled and said, "Quite a fascinating dream you had, Young Master. Do you want to share what happened in your dream?"

The child-looking Liu Wei was about to say something but the books caught his attention.

He shook his head and said, "Later, Uncle Bai Ping. I want to read all these books first."

Bai Ping was stunned.

He said in a concerned tone, "But, aren't you overdoing it, Young Master? You just finished reading them all after sitting here for two whole days. Most of the books are not even business-related. Master will be enraged if he knows about this."

The child-looking Liu Wei recalled his Father and snorted.

"What did he know? All he knows is business! Did he not learn them through reading books, too?"

Bai Ping shook his head and replied, "Yes, he did. But what carries the business will always be socializing. You lack connections, Young Master. You barely have friends. How will you be able to apply what you learn if you are not fond of executing it?

Also, Young Master, you are not reading business-related books at all. Most of them are fiction and history."

Liu Wei rolled his eyes and scoffed.

"What's interesting about business books? I can still learn business in fiction, too. It's more fascinating that way."

Bai Ping sighed, feeling helpless about his Young Master.

He gazed at his Young Master and could not help but feel a bit pity and worry.

He raised the Young Master by himself, from its infancy until he was now a child.

The Young Master's mother was busy with the business with her husband, too.

So, the emotional detachment between the parents and the Young Master was quite massive…

So much so that the parents would often fail to uphold their parental morality, for the sake of business…
