Cultivator vs. Galaxy: Rebirth in a World of Mechas

Chapter 76: Ch 76 the nova star system

"And that is exactly what we can—and should—capitalize on before things improve, which is likely to happen soon. After all, you've already gifted them Tier-7 shipbuilding technology, something they should have already begun working on. Once completed, those ships—built with our tech—will gradually elevate their situation, making things better and better for them in the future.

Which is good, of course, but not useful to us right now. Only in chaos can we fully make use of the plan you proposed, right?"

Then she continue with her hands folded around here chest…

"By following through with what you proposed—while also easing their path to settle here—we can make this place far easier for them to accept. We could even handle the transportation ourselves. That would be far more effective, and it would win us their gratitude.

There are countless things we could do—many without provoking any major faction, unless they deem our actions excessive. And naturally, our main focus would be those in the Federation's outer regions—most of them Tier-3 citizens, people with limited prospects and little hope for the future."

"So, where do we start?" Elsa asked William.

He began stroking his chin with a thoughtful look on his face. "What should we do, you say? We can definitely do what you've just said, and for the most part, that's the plan.

Recognition is something that we need to work on quite a bit to achieve our goals. We might need to do some hacking or something of that sort to popularize our achievements."

He paused, a flicker of a new idea in his eyes. "But that has to wait for now. After all, we need a place that's good enough to attract others to settle and be assimilated by us, no?

We have this Nova Star System, but it's undeveloped, with no infrastructure or anything to support us in settling people throughout the Federation. We can't even offer a place to those who might find our… let's say, 'clan' for now. One star system just isn't enough for us to name it a kingdom."

Elsa was listening his with patience and he William kept talking, his thoughts flowing like a river as he reviled his idea. "So what we need to do is start planning how to develop this star system into a haven for others who might want to live here.'

You mean after they come to know about us, right?" Elsa asked, making her point.

"Exactly," William replied as he continued. "Once they come, they won't want to leave because of how good and comfortable it is to live here, as well as how safe it is from the threats the Federation is going through."

William's voice softened slightly. "That's the feeling I want to convey to others, those who might be attracted by the prospect of our strength just as you said.

And this star system's development is one of the key things for us, the foundation where we can build upon things for the future. For it's unknown how long we might need to live here to find a way forward."

"That's about right," Elsa said. "But let's not focus on that. It looks like you've already thought of what you want us to do, I'm guessing?" She waved her hand dismissively before giving him a look of interest.

William laughed. "Of course I've thought of it, Elsa. After all, it's a long game we're going to play, so we might as well do it right. And give a shock to those in the Federation Council, at least to those who hate us."

"Well, I do agree with the first part, but not the last," Elsa said. "I still don't agree about giving a shock to the council members. I don't agree that we have to join this stupid Federation at all—why not just take it over or go our own separate way?

But in any case, what's done is done, and it's not like everything is set in stone. I'm just dissatisfied, and I've made you aware of it once again," she added, huffing while folding her arms.

"Haha, haha," William laughed, hearing this. "Oh, Elsa, won't you give up already? What's done is done."

"So you do agree that this decision of yours wasn't worth it, right?" Elsa said, giving him a look that showed her surprise.

"Well, not completely, Elsa, but a part of it, yes," William replied. "I do agree that it was a mistake on my part to get involved. After all, it just wasn't worth it. The politics of it aren't, anyway, and neither is the superiority complex and mindset of the noble clans and the people behind those few council members."

He continued, "But there are also some parts that are only available to us if we join them, at least until we've begun gaining some traction in this galaxy. Another thing is, as I told you previously, this way is much easier to earn the respect and trust of others.

And by others, I'm referring to the common people, more so than the elite of the Federation—the likes who belong to Tier One states and noble clans of such class.

And that trust and respect we earn this way will make them see us as one of their own, not as outsiders,"

William continued. "In itself, that will make it far easier for them to accept us and to be assimilated when they learn of our power and achievements and begin immigrating to the Nova star system.

Those acknowledged would the become much more harder to secure if we'd have done as you said and ruled as tyrants—if we'd seized the Federation and abolished their laws.

They would then have viewed us as colonisers ; intentions aside, the result and the resentment would have been the same."

"Anyway, we have discussed this already, so let's not get into that once again and start another debate," William said, shrugging off everything else entirely.

He was right, and Elsa knew it, but as she was not happy about it, she just threw a tantrum. "Yeah, yeah, you've said it multiple times already. I accept that, and yes, I don't want to debate it, as you won't be changing your mind in any case. So I give up," she said sarcastically.

Changing the topic and even her expression from sarcasm to interest, Elsa said, "So, tell me what plan you've thought of. Let's hear it and make a decision on it."

"It's not that complex, let me tell you about it," he said. He snapped his fingers and beckoned for Acendency to come close to him and Elsa to hear what he was saying.

Acendency did as she was told and came to the center of the command bridge.

Just then, a holographic display appeared in front of the three of them. William and Elsa the two great beings who had reached the pinnacle of what was possible.

Though different, they were both a part of each other, and both acknowledged this, but Elsa would not agree to it publicly.

And Acendency was a creation of William—his ship, brain, and ultimate AI, as well as his and Elsa's assistant. The holographic display showed the entire Nova Star System.

The Nova Star System was a breathtaking stellar place with planets arranged and orbiting a brilliant blue giant star that acted as its sun.

Unlike the familiar black vacuum, the space here glowed with ethereal shades of blue, violet, purple, white, and even gold, creating a truly magical, magnificent, and dream-like vista.

The Nova Star System consisted of twelve planets orbiting the blue star. Of these, three were vibrant, life-sustaining worlds. There were others that could also sustain life, though with harsh conditions, and the remaining seven were dead celestial bodies that held invaluable alloys and materials.

William snapped his fingers, and the holographic display focused on a planet named Aerthos. This planet was basically similar to Earth, just a bit larger. It boasted six lush continents, vast oceans, and a diverse range of flora and fauna, as well as animals just like those on Earth.

The plant and animal life was vibrant, just as one would find on Earth, but the species were much larger. It had a very good, high-density climate and was the most hospitable of the three living planets.

"Hey, wait a minute," Elsa said, looking at him.

"Since when did the planets have their names? As far as I can remember, this was an undiscovered star system, even by the Federation, right? It shouldn't have names for its planets, so why does it now?" Elsa said, raising an eyebrow at William.

"Umm, well, I took the liberty of naming them," William said, a bit proudly. "Calling them by number was just a bit weird; I couldn't get used to it at all."

"Ohh, so why didn't you involve me in naming them?" she said, frowning as she talked.

William sweated a bit. "You will name the other star systems that we conquer, okay?" he said with puppy-like eyes.
