Tower’s Richest Player: My Coins Won't Stop Increasing

Chapter 176: What they had left behind

[Ding!]

[You have successfully cleared the trial left behind by the people of Tatar Dynasty.]

[You are now eligible for the [Legacy Succession] of the Tatar's legacy.]

He needed to find the ruins, he needed to find the traces of the messenger, and lastly he needed to clear the test of the Tatar people.

Two of the things were finished so they were crossed off from the list in the quest window. Now there was only one thing left to find, but KiRA didn't think it would take too long now that he had discovered this new chamber that was locked until just now.

[{ Wow. Master… look at this… }]

Unity was stunned the moment they found the gate where the holy light was coming from.

This light, possessing the holy properties, was bright and warm. Un felt a strange sense of comfort in this light.

It was coming from the fire lamps present all around this new chamber. There was a bright golden fire within these fire lamps, a kind of fire you wouldn't find just anywhere.

"To think we'd find holy fire here… these lamps would individually go for around a hundred thousand, no?"

KiRA first estimated the market value of these lamps, but then shook his head immediately.

"At this stage for our civilization, these lamps are priceless treasures."

The holy fire was a kind of fire that could only be produced with holy wood, a special type of energy conducting wood that was soaked in holy water for a decade and then infused with holy energy for at least three years every single day for at least six hours.

In natural conditions, this wood would burn for over a few hundred years. And when used alongside special containers like the ones present all around this chamber, the fire would last almost eternally.

"The holy fire has healing properties and it enhances recovery rate for both Mana and health. In an emergency ward or on the battlefields, these lamps would be a lifesaver."

There were around thirty of them throughout the chamber and each one of them could be used to illuminate and help an entire camp site.

Their range of effectiveness was vast already. Each one of them were as potent and effective as a high class healer.

And there were thirty of them just in this place.

"And that's just the start."

Aside from the lamps with the holy fire, there were three shelves around this place.

One of the shelves was filled with items, the other was filled with scrolls, most likely magic scrolls from their time, and then there was the middle shelf… calling it an alter would be much better.

"So that's how they saw their lord."

Three pairs of hands, a humanoid body, three eyes with the third one being on their neck. They were sitting in a lotus position, their eyes closed.

The three pairs of hands were holding different things: one pair had two books, (Wisdom) and (Instincts) written on them in the ancient language of the Tatar people.

'Taking up linguistics as a holy back then was a good idea.'

The second pair of hands each had a shield of different types— one was a round shield, while the other one was a longer, pentagonal shield.

The third pair of hands had a scale and feather quill in their hands. Perhaps all these things were a representation of something, or perhaps there was a deeper meaning to each and every one of the elements.

"Whatever the case may be, they did not leave behind just this idol. The idol is everything they had strived for."

[Ding!]

[You have discovered a fragment of Tatar Dynasty's origin.]

[You are now eligible for a conversation with the Tatar's direct descendants.]

[You have discovered <Idol of the God of First Light, Illuminos>.]

[A skill you possess has resonated with the idol.]

[Skill: Halo of Pure Light is resonating with the Idol or the God of First Light, Illuminos.]

[The skill obtained from the divinity is being legitimised in the presence of the same Divine fragment.]

[If you absorb the power residing within the Idol, you can remove the restrictions on the Skill: Halo of Pure Light.]

[By absorbing the idol's powers, you will enhance the Holy Power.]

[By absorbing the idol's powers, you will obtain the title <Successor of Tatar's legacy>.]

[A class change into Worshipper of Illuminos (Epic) will be made available.]

[Ding!]

[A certain group of Higher beings are observing your actions with curiosity.]

[A certain group of Higher beings are observing your actions with great interest.]

"You all have seen this one before, I know you must think I'll reject this one as well."

At the end of the day, he knew the God that the people of Tatar served and the being that he messed with even before entering the tower were the same.

If he had rejected the offer of becoming her direct apostle, the chance of gaining her powers directly, the chances that he would reject these powers were much higher.

"You're right, haha. I'm not going to absorb the power from the idol." He laughed, as If it was just the obvious thing.

But there was a smirk on his face as he looked back, at the bird who was looking at the cool flames from up close.

Any 'creature' or 'monster' would be unable to handle the holy fire unless they were a holy beast, and she wasn't one. Still, she was as fine with these flames as those possessing holy powers.

It wasn't because she had anything to do with flames and light, she was familiar with all kinds of energies.

"Uni? Ready for a good meal?"

And the idol was no exception.

[{ Hmm? Ohh! Master, thanks~! }]

She understood why he wasn't absorbing the idol's powers so she didn't waste any time when he gave her the green light.

She already had her eyes on the idol since a while ago.

"Eat well."

She flew up and stopped right before the idol. Then, first she politely bowed to the higher being's idol to show her respect, and then opened her mouth with an excited look on her bird face.

-Ooooooooooooooooooong!

The yellow-gold energy that was making the idol shine with a divine presence started flowing into her mouth.

The energy was being eaten by this bird, and the process affected the entire surroundings.

-Zaaaaaaaaaa…!

The holy flames flickered, while the surrounding two shelves started shaking.

[{ Mmm~! }]

It seemed like Uni was having an amazing meaning for the first time in a long while. The delight on her face was impossible to miss.

[{ It was sooooo good~! }]

After she was done, all the radiance, all the divine presence, all the light that the idol had was nowhere to be seen.

She had eaten all the light out of the idol, and there was no burp to indicate a fulfilling meal either.

"Great. It's going to be a rare treat for the time being so I hope you'll understand."

[{ Of course! Master! These fragments are sooooo rare! I'm just happy to have any of them! }]

Divinity was a collective power of someone who was recognised by the world. However, when it was used as a tangible energy, it allowed one to grant powers or unseal powers that were restricted under the guidance of Causal Laws.

In normal circumstances, as a human at his level, KiRA would never have been able to use the Halo without restrictions.

It was not his power. It belonged to someone else originally.

He was a thief that stole it or someone who obtained it by Chance.

There were no justifications to why he could use this power, the conditional use was the ultimate outcome.

'But these divine fragments give justifications to your unreasonable skills like the halo.'

In Uni's case, someone who was severely restricted or someone who possessed the innate ability to consume Divinity, eating away the power from such objects was the same as levelling up.

[Your familiar [Unity] has unsealed a portion of her powers.]

Not only did it help unseal her powers, it also removed the unfavourable 'blessings' or added ones that she would actually want.

"Haha. Uni it's fine to be greedy sometimes. Just ask if you want anything. We can think about whether you can have it or not at that time."

Unity was very understanding.

She was also considerate and loved her master more than anything in this world.

For her, he was everything. She wouldn't hesitate to go against the laws of the world if it was for him… she had already done that, so it won't be anything new for her either.

"Now then. Before we look into your new powers, how about we clean up this place a little? Who knows, we might just find the clues to the last piece of the quest."

There were a few items here left behind by the people of that time that he'd bring back with him, along with the scrolls and the idol that did not have the powers anymore.

'While it doesn't have the powers, it's still something made of pure gold and something that still reflects the ancient craftsmanship of the Tatars.'

He may have the right to meet the royal family on the higher floor but he would still need some kind of a present for them for a good first impression.

And, what was better than the idol that their ancestors had crafted themselves?

"You take down the torches and I'll pack the items, ok? Be careful with them, they're as fragile as your feathers."

He was being playful here since her feathers were as soft as a well crafted shield or a thousand year old boulder.

They wouldn't falter even if one tried their best to harm them… Well, they were just as soft and fluffy as they were indestructible.

"This room is pretty big as well so it doesn't make sense that they only placed these three shelves here. There might be a hidden door under them so we will try to move them."

Whether the final quest piece reveals itself or not, however, will actually depend on their memory this time.

While they had not realised it yet… they had already found the clues about the messenger of the god.

In fact, they had already been interacting with it since they came here…
