The Ancestor of All Demons

Chapter 137: 136 Green Mist Purple Air

Four incarnations of the Cold Centipede appeared simultaneously, attacking the Black Dragon from the east, west, south, and north toward the center.

The Black Dragon roared and spat out its Water and Fire Inner Core; they entwined and spun rapidly, ejecting streams of Dan Qi. The True Water Dan Qi transformed into huge clusters of leaden clouds, from which wheel-sized hailstones emerged, chaotically striking down, while the Divine Fire Qi took the form of Fire Sparrows, Fire Monkeys, Fire Bulls, Fire Horses, Fire Eagles, Fire Dragons... Water and fire combined, creating a massive Tai Chi Diagram in the sky, recklessly spreading and splashing, with the farthest hailstones hitting dozens of miles away.

Seeing this, a look of surprise appeared in the Cold Centipede's eyes. It turned out this was the Black Dragon's true strength, indeed stronger than Long Meng and Wu Longzi; capturing it would truly be more satisfying than dealing with those two. Eh? Why don't I let the three of them attack together?

As the demon thought so, all four incarnations simultaneously spewed out vast amounts of green Dan Qi. Revealing her unique Mana accumulated over forty thousand years, the poisonous fog engulfed the sky, sweeping toward the hail and Fire Beasts. Originally, the diameter of the Water and Fire Tai Chi Diagram reached over forty miles, but with the impacts of the green fog, it was forcibly compressed to less than ten miles.

The Black Dragon kept spewing Dan Qi, the rotation speed of its two inner cores increased, and the storm of water and fire erupted outward, instantly expanding to a diameter of more than twenty miles.

The Cold Centipede smiled seductively, her lips slightly parted, each incarnation spewing a wisp of green essence energy. The green mist tumbled and compressed again, forcibly reduced to within ten miles in diameter. The green fog on all sides connected, forming a vast green cloud, with only the center circle forcibly pushed open by the Water and Fire Inner Core.

At this point, Shi Feiyang truly recognized the demon's strength. His Demon Dragon body had three thousand years of cultivated effort and had practiced Alchemy and Chi You's Refining Form; he had consumed so many Spiritual Medicines and Immortal Pills over the years. Now, with all his Mana unleashed, he could barely manage to hold his own against the attack of the Cold Centipede's four incarnations—it was his limit.

In terms of Mana alone, this ten-thousand-year Great Demon exceeded all the cultivators he had ever met... by several times!

That is to say, even with Bai Guyi, Ling Hun, and Geng Kun combined, they were still far from sufficient.

But the advantage human beings have is that they don't just talk about understanding Dao; they also invented various Daoist Skills and crafted many Magical Treasures.

Shi Feiyang tested the depth of Cold Centipede's Mana, feigned anger, roared again, and with a turn of his inner cores, he rushed toward the west. Hail and fierce fire surged forth, forcefully blasting a path through the green fog. The Cold Centipede immediately directed the green fog from behind to surge forward. If even a trace of Dan Qi touched the opponent's body, it could poison his physical form and then cast spells to restrict his Primordial Spirit.

Little did she know that there seemed to be a layer of faint purple Qi around the Black Dragon's body, keeping the green Dan mist several miles away, no matter how she urged it or how turbulently the green tide surged, it could no longer close the distance with the Black Dragon, and the green fog in front was again blasted open by the Water and Fire Inner Core. The Black Dragon leaped straight down, landed on the main peak, transformed into a human body with a dragon head, waved his hand to open the cave door and quickly walked inside.

Cold Centipede gave a faint smile, "You think I can't do anything to you if you hide in the cave?"

Eight jade-like hands pressed down, and the green Dan mist flowed into the fortress like tidal water.

These Dan mists acted like her tentacles; wherever they reached within the cave, she could sense it.

Several cave chambers were quickly filled with green mist, only the innermost chamber, blocked by that purple Qi, kept the green tide at bay. Repeated spells attempted to breach it were to no avail, provoking her anger, "I'll destroy your den and see where you can hide!"

Four green-garbed women then divided into the east, west, south, and north, encircling the main peak, controlling the green Dan Qi to completely engulf the hundred-yard-tall mountain, swirling and surging like a flying waterfall, cleaning whirlpool, polishing stream, and colliding tidal wave, intending to grind the entire mountain to pieces.

But there was a layer of purple Qi on the mountain's surface too, even though such fierce green poisonous Qi, at full force, would have ground even a mountain of wrought iron into slag by now. However, after much spell-casting by Cold Centipede, not a single trace of damage appeared on the mountain, not even the flowers, grass, and trees on it were disturbed.

Cold Centipede was furious, grinding her teeth. The Black Dragon's abilities were mere trifle, and his Divine Skills very limited, yet this layer of purple Qi was incredibly vexing!

She continued her labor for over two hours, but the mountain remained immovable under the protection of the purple Qi.

At this juncture, either she admitted defeat and retreated, or she entered the cave to capture the dragon. She had already discerned everything inside through her Dan mist tentacles; that detestable Black Dragon was hiding in the innermost chamber, sealed outside by a layer of purple Qi, which was incredibly annoying. It was futile even if she sent her subordinates; she had to take matters into her own hands.

After hesitating, she left two incarnations to stay on the spot and flew the other two into the cave. Once inside, the two small mouths opened simultaneously, spewing green mist toward the purple Qi, aiming to disperse it.

The Black Dragon stood behind the purple qi, appearing both worried and mocking.

The purple qi was only two or three inches thick, as if a gust of wind could blow it away, yet she, using over forty thousand years of mana, attacked fiercely without dispersing even a bit of it.

After a stalemate, Cold Centipede grew impatient, and her two incarnations outside charged in simultaneously. Four beauties lined up at the entrance, each spewing out a green, pea-sized Primordial Pearl from their mouths and attacked the purple qi with all their strength. They actually managed to push the purple qi inward.

She felt a surge of joy, but just as her happiness began, she heard the Black Dragon inside burst into loud laughter, "Demon, you've all entered now!"

Before his words ended, changes arose from all directions, and they were no longer in any cave. Instead, they saw pitch-black cliffs all around, restraining various ancient demon beasts, many of whom were her ancestors, chilling her to the bone. Looking up, she saw a square opening leading to the sky and dared not linger. All four incarnations flew at once, trying to find an escape.

Suddenly, near the exit, thick clouds formed and surged, generating wind, rain, lightning, and thunder, blocking her way out. Thunderbolts struck her, causing immense pain, and she fell back onto the hard, cold metallic ground.

She was truly anxious now. Even if she had fallen into the enemy's trap and sacrificed these four incarnations, she had to break free to let the main primordial spirit know what had happened here. The moment the surroundings had changed, she had lost contact with the main primordial spirit. If these four incarnations were annihilated, the main spirit would still be unaware of the events here!

If she could just break through that layer of thunderclouds and fly out of the square opening, she could regain contact with the main primordial spirit, and then even death would be worth it!

Cold Centipede's four incarnations took off again from four different angles. However, the thunderclouds above, refined by Yu the Great in ancient times, contained the Nine Heavens Tribulation Thunder, the nemesis of all demons, and thundered violently, causing Cold Centipede to scream in agony and fall again, her green aura scattering much.

Shi Feiyang put the lid on Yu Ding and waved the Nine Heavens Yuan Yang Ruler, drastically changing the scenery inside and outside the grotto.

The two mountains which Long Meng and Wu Dragon had demolished stood intact in their original places, and not a grass or tree was damaged.

The subordinates Cold Centipede brought were all stunned, thinking they were hallucinating. Even Wu Dragon rubbed his rod-shaped eyes with his claws. Looking again, the three mountain peaks were still intact, with colorful flowers on the mountains, green leaves, and undulating waves below, a leisurely scene under the sun.

Initially, Shi Feiyang knew Cold Centipede had nine incarnations. Attacking directly and winning with his rare treasures was not difficult, but Cold Centipede was extremely cunning. If things turned sour, she would scatter and flee. If even one of the nine incarnations escaped, endless troubles would follow. If she ran from the Earth Axis to the North Pole and started a massacre, it would be even worse. His three-thousand-year demon tribulation was just a few years away, and the demon would surely sneak back for revenge, leading to another calamity.

Thus, he showed weakness first, using Green Mirage Pill Qi to create illusions, letting her see two mountain peaks being demolished, and realizing her own mana was so limited. He gradually lowered her guard, enticing her step-by-step into the cavern. He had arranged Yu Ding in advance, standing it on its side, and used the Green Mirage Pill Qi to mimic the cave's interior. By inverting the Five Elements and stretching the space, he set the trap. When Cold Centipede entered the cave, she was actually entering Yu Ding. Initially, when the first two incarnations entered, Shi Feiyang maintained a defense without attacking, wearing down her patience until all four incarnations arrived. Then he ceased his spell, trapping the demon in the ding.

Losing contact with four more incarnations, Cold Centipede was frantic with rage, pacing back and forth on a white jade platform, screeching in fury. She was desperate to find out what had happened on the other side. All four incarnations had entered the cave together, seemingly about to break through the purple qi and capture the Black Dragon. How had they suddenly lost contact?

Her nine primordial spirits were essentially one, mutually sensing each other's presence. Regardless of the distance, even separated by thousands of mountains and rivers, they could still multitask and no spell could block it.

Cold Centipede, grinding her teeth in hatred, wanted to go check things out herself but hesitated. That Black Dragon was just too bizarre and unpredictable. Having already lost five primordial spirits, she couldn't risk the remaining four.

Unwilling to go herself, she summoned two sea monsters to call back everyone, including Wu Dragon.

Wu Dragon, Long Meng, fifty demon spirits, and twenty Daoists were still puzzled in the air above the bay, discussing what had exactly happened to Fairy Cold Centipede. What had happened down there, and how had those two destroyed mountain peaks suddenly recovered? Had the destroyed stones and trees regrown? Could that Black Dragon have the power to reverse time?

After a bustling discussion without conclusive results, Wu Dragon suggested sending a few individuals to see for themselves.

However, with Cold Centipede gone silent, none of them dared to descend. They hesitated, each passing the buck, none willing to make a move.

Just then, the two sea monsters Cold Centipede had sent arrived, claiming she summoned them back. Although still puzzled, they all breathed a sigh of relief, assuming that Cold Centipede was injured and had used magic to escape early. They all quickly hurried back.
