Shi Feiyang called Jiang Dachuan over again, "You still need to go back to the Cold Centipede."
Hearing this, Jiang Dachuan shuddered and said, "I... I..." He looked at Jin Xunu beside him, "I've sneaked away for so many days. Going back now, I'm bound to die."
He couldn't see the true form of the Cold Centipede, with its six heads, nine bodies, and forty-eight legs; in his eyes, the Cold Centipede was just a beautiful person wrapped in green gauze. The thought of going back made his mind instantly conjure up the image of the Cold Centipede raising its leg and thrusting out its chest, causing him to become restless and heated once more.
"You won't die," Shi Feiyang reassured him as he took out an elixir and a jade talisman to give to Jin Xunu, instructing Jin Xunu to pass them to Jiang. "Take this elixir and then go back to her. Enjoy yourself with her, and after it's over, use the jade talisman to get away immediately. You won't need to worry about what comes after."
Jiang Dachuan took the elixir and jade talisman with a troubled face, still hesitant.
Jin Xunu frowned and said, "How great is the wisdom and mana of our master? If he says you won't die, even if you want to, you can't! Just go."
With no alternative, Jiang Dachuan steel himself to agree. He asked in detail about how to use them and left the bay to fly back to the Cold Centipede, swallowing the elixir on the way.
Upon seeing Jiang, the demoness Cold Centipede flew into a rage. Any controlled humans or spirits who dared betray and flee would be decayed into pus by her remote casting, and even their Primordial Spirit would be remotely reeled back to suffer torment before being executed, their souls annihilated.
However, for the past several days, no matter what magic she used, Jiang didn't respond. If his body was supposed to decay and ooze pus but his Primordial Spirit remained, this drove her to infuriated extremes. She viciously devoured dozens of humans, chewed over two hundred water demons, and nearly ate Long Meng in her anger—fortunately, Wu Longzi covertly intervened, awakening Long Meng just as his Yuan Yang almost depleted, saving his life.
The Cold Centipede was about to select today's lunch when Jiang Dachuan caught her eye, so she pushed the others aside. Using a burst of Dan Qi, she wrapped Jiang up and forcefully pulled him over. Several incarnations pounced on him at once. Before, Jiang could still defend himself against one incarnation by relying on his past cultivated magic and the Red Cloud Pestle of Gang Chen suppressing the Divine Energy to preserve his Yuan Yang. This time however, outnumbered, faced with attacks from incomparably beautiful beings, his modest Dao level was no match and he soon succumbed utterly defeated.
The Cold Centipede gained a lot of his Essence Energy, yet failed to capture his Yuan Yang. Filled with dissatisfaction and a hint of surprise, she hesitated whether to press on or devour him alive as he was.
Jiang Dachuan, completely drained, felt death was near, so he reached into his clothes to grab the Spirit Talisman. Unsure if this counted as 'after it's over' as Shi Feiyang said, but knowing another round would mean certain death, he steeled his heart, clenched his teeth, and channeled his True Yuan into the Spirit Talisman.
Activated, the talisman—crafted by Shi Feiyang after a hundred days of arduous refinement—emitted a ring of golden talismanic light. Swirling outward, it enveloped him, and with a "whoosh," he shot through the air and vanished.
The Cold Centipede flew into a rage and prepared to spout Dan Qi to block, but suddenly all of her six heads felt dizzy, as if about to collapse.
Turns out, the elixir Shi Feiyang had given to Jiang Dachuan contained the blood of Immortal Mushrooms. The three-thousand-year-old humanoid Immortal Mushroom's bodily fluids were extremely poisonous; ingested by even the mightiest of demons, it could lead to instant death or at least unconsciousness for hundreds to thousands of years.
The Cold Centipede, absorbing the potent poison from the elixir, felt the world spinning and could not support herself with her forty-eight squishy legs, tipping over and collapsing.
For over nine thousand and nine hundred years, she had always been the one to poison others. She had encountered countless toxic creatures, all eventually becoming her sustenance. But today was the first time she herself was poisoned.
She tried to counteract the poison with her Dan Qi, intending to either dissolve it or expel it from her body, yet to no avail, as waves of dizziness filled her heads.
Decisively, Cold Centipede sent her remaining four Primordial Spirits fleeing from her body. The Immortal Mushroom's poison only left her physical form comatose, while the Primordial Spirits remained conscious, each transforming into a green-clad beauty with a vicious look of rage.
She vowed to tear Jiang Dachuan into thousands of pieces, but in just that short period, Jiang had already been whisked away by the Circulation God Talisman, turning into a dazzling golden rainbow that shot through the sky and disappeared to the south, no longer in sight.
"Black Dragon! It must be that miserable eel! I wasn't out for your blood, yet you use my own people to scheme against me!"
All four women looked south, wishing they could immediately fly there and shred the Black Dragon but, recalling their previous losses and still unclear about what techniques the foe used, fear held them back from making a decision.
At that moment, Shi Feiyang appeared from the horizon, arriving overhead like lightning. With a shout, he said, "Demoness Cold Centipede, you're on the brink of death and unaware?"
Cold Centipede looked up at him, unrecognizing, and a chill ran through her, "Who are you?"
Shi Feiyang decided to give her a chance to live, "Don't worry about who I am. If you wish to survive, kneel and surrender quickly. I will allow you to be a cleaning maid in my palace for the next sixty years. Once your wicked thoughts are eradicated and your nature becomes harmonious, I'll consider making you a protector. If you accumulate merit in the future, you could still attain an immortal body that endures for eons."
Cold Centipede's eight eyes exploded with cold radiance; how could she possibly heed such words now? At the same time, she opened her mouth and spewed out green light sweeping towards Shi Feiyang.
Shi Feiyang took the lead and unleashed the Three Yangs One Qi Sword, transforming into three golden rainbows that slashed downward.
With his right hand forming a sword-controlling gesture, the Three Yangs One Qi Sword pierced through Cold Centipede's Dan Qi and stabbed directly towards the Cold Centipede's Primordial Spirit below. With his left hand, he waved the Nine Heavens Yuan Yang Ruler, releasing the Hongmeng Purple Qi to protect himself, suppressing the Dan Qi from rising.
Cold Centipede churned her Dan Qi into a green cloud that covered a radius of several miles, attempting to engulf the three of them. However, she was thwarted by the thousand-feet expanse of purple Qi. Her Dan Qi was exceptionally formidable; in past duels, no Flying Sword or Divine Thunder could penetrate or disperse it. Divine Thunder would only create a faint sound upon impact, and a Flying Sword that was entangled for a moment would be tainted green and robbed of its spiritual essence.
Yet, Shi Feiyang's Three Yangs One Qi Sword was no ordinary weapon. Wrapped in seven-colored rainbow light impervious to contamination, and bolstered by Shi Feiyang's mana, it pierced straight through the thick green fog, shooting directly towards the Cold Centipede's face.
The Cold Centipede let out a piercing screech, dodging with a sway of her body.
As a Primordial Spirit Body, she could move instantaneously with a mere thought, her Flying Escape far surpassing that of any common ghost or demon.
The four demonic incarnations flew upwards, each one spewing out green smoke from their mouths, and from the tips of all twenty fingers, twenty beams of green light shot straight towards Shi Feiyang. Sadly, they were still blocked by the Hongmeng Purple Qi.
In the sky, the purple Qi unfolded into a platform of purple clouds spread out over ten miles wide, slowly pressing down. The Cold Centipede's Dan Qi formed a huge green cloud that rose upwards. As the two forces competed, Shi Feiyang had the edge with his powerful Magical Treasure, while Cold Centipede had the advantage in sheer mana strength, resulting in a deadlock midair.
Cold Centipede's nature was extremely cold, while the Three Yangs One Qi Sword was a Pure Yang Immortal Sword. The opposing attributes clashed; when the Three Yangs One Qi Sword met the green light emitted from her hands, each collision produced a "snap" of a sharp explosion, scattering myriad dazzling specks like the sun's seven-colored radiance and clouds of fragmented green smoke.
The two fiercely engaged in a spell duel in the skies, while below, on the ground, two children arrived—Shi Sheng and Lin Han, hand in hand, approached using the Earth Tunneling Technique.
This area was originally part of the Upper Realm Heavenly Palace, distinct in soil from other regions and with prohibitions laid by the Cold Centipede. Normally, it would be impossible for anyone, no matter how exquisite their Earth Tunneling Technique, to infiltrate from underground.
However, Shi Sheng was begotten from the Spiritual Stone Earth Veins and was therefore exceptional, innately skilled in Earth Traveling. He moved underground as freely as a fish through water. Shi Feiyang had also imparted to him the Earth Tunneling Technique from Guang Chengzi's Heavenly Book, which made his movements even more effortless and allowed him to sneak in stealthily with Lin Han. Following the instructions given beforehand by Shi Feiyang, the two youngsters simultaneously released their Flying Swords. The White Light Sword and the Taibai Split Light Sword transformed into two streaks of white and silver light that pierced directly through Cold Centipede's enormous body.
Cold Centipede's physical form, with six heads, nine bodies, and forty-eight legs, spanned more than a dozen yards in width. Now incapacitated by the potency of the Immortal Mushrooms, she lay on the ground, unconscious as if dead. Lin Han and Shi Sheng each thrust their Immortal Swords into one side of her body, spiraling and sweeping inside before emerging from the other side, then striking from left to right in a flurry… In the blink of an eye, they had sliced the huge body into a pile of ragged chunks!
The Cold Centipede's Primordial Spirit in the sky sensed this, and looking down, saw her shell had been hacked into pieces. The two human infants below were energetically brandishing their sword lights, infuriating her to the point of letting out an enraged screech. Her two Primordial Spirit incarnations appeared beside Lin Han and Shi Sheng in a flash, each one spewing a thick green fog fiercely slamming towards the two children.
Shi Sheng and Lin Han remained hand in hand; as soon as they saw Cold Centipede descending, Shi Sheng immediately twisted his body, taking Lin Han with him to escape underground.
They vanished from their spot, and the two clouds of green fog exhaled by Cold Centipede collided with each other, exploding instantly and boiling over, spreading out in all directions.
At that moment, Shi Feiyang wielded the Jade Ruler, commanding the vast purple Qi to press down from the sky. Unable to withstand it, the two Primordial Spirits of Cold Centipede had no choice but to abandon their pursuit of Shi Sheng and Lin Han and return to dueling with Shi Feiyang.
Seeing that the two kids had successfully destroyed her shell, Shi Feiyang no longer held back. He brought out the Cave Spirit Zither and the Jade Zither suspended in midair, vanishing into thin air in a flash, melding into the surroundings. Shi Feiyang concentrated his spirit and will, fusing his heart's strings with the zither's strings, and performed his heart's melody through the music, tinkling sonorously throughout the land.
As the zither's melody began, each note struck the hearts of the spirits within a hundred miles. After only a few notes, it was so shattering that their Primordial Spirits nearly dispersed.
Those Great Demons with thousands of years of Dao level managed to flee if they were far enough, but the rest trembled and withered on the spot, falling to the ground intoxicated, passing out shortly after.
Despite Cold Centipede's formidable mana, her four incarnations managed to perform Mysterious Skills and burrow into the Hongmeng Purple Qi, sheerly determined to pierce through the Qi by force.
Shi Feiyang swung the Jade Ruler, using the purple Qi to envelop her while the zither music continued unabated. It was the rhythm of "Guang Han Po Formation", the hurried zither notes continuously battering and vibrating her Primordial Spirit, overwhelmingly oppressive as if she had been thrust back into a fearful Primordial era with predators all around.
After a short struggle, Cold Centipede grew increasingly terrified, realizing she had no chance of victory today, and if the fight continued, she might face the risk of both body and soul being destroyed.
Her physical shell was already ruined; only the four Primordial Spirit incarnations remained. Her lair of many years was no longer safe. Surrounded by the Aurora Fire of the Outer Heaven Divine Mountain, she could not traverse it now, as it was not the day of the Winter Solstice. The only path to the outside world was through the Earth Axis, which allowed for travel through the Earth Core to reach Wuding Island at the North Pole.
Determined, she let out consecutive piercing screeches, exhaling copious amounts of green smoke. Leveraging tens of thousands of years of effort, she forcibly broke open the Hongmeng Purple Qi. Her Primordial Spirits transformed into four beams of green light, each one streaking away in different directions...
