The Ancestor of All Demons

Chapter 167: 166 Awaken

Elder Kuzhu knew that everything he saw before his eyes was fake—all were demonic effigies and illusions.

Others who tread the Demon Path would use Magic Illusions to their utmost ability to lean towards reality, attempting to deceive their enemies into believing the illusions and thus falling into their trap.

Such tactics were indeed the lowest of the low, as they could easily be seen through by enemies with high concentration or powerful divine skills; once seen through, they could be easily shattered.

Shi Feiyang's superiority lay in that, although the appearance was false, the information it carried was true.

Even though Elder Kuzhu knew it was fake, it struck directly at his soul: Qi Shuming was his fated nemesis and the Golden Cicada was his fated savior. The pair objectively existed in this world, and even if they weren't standing right here, they were somewhere else. Eventually, he would have to face them, but how?

He reminded himself that the Emei Sect was the orthodox lineage of Master Changmei, and it would never utter such frivolous and disrespectful words.

But while the words might be rough, the underlying meaning was significant. He had accumulated thousands of years of Dao Level, and yet now he found himself painstakingly trying to please a junior, using the Treasure of the Cave to exchange for the Yin Ring, and even going so far as to make enemies with the Demon Dragon to wrestle away the Yang Ring—all in effort to please this savior.

In essence, how was this different from kneeling down and begging?

Elder Kuzhu's Dao heart was greatly disturbed as he recalled his own situation a thousand years ago when he roamed the world, living life fully and believing man could conquer the heavens.

Now a millennium had passed, and he became increasingly cautious and calculating, trembling with every step… If he were still as he had been a thousand years ago, would he really have made enemies just to curry favor with a so-called savior?

He seemed to see himself truly kneeling down, prostrating at the feet of the Golden Cicada, who laughed proudly and even stepped on his head!

Elder Kuzhu felt a buzzing in his mind, as if he had entered a surreal dream.

His spirit lost, his primordial Qi became chaotic; his transmigrated body was far weaker compared to his true form in Wuzhong Ridge, frail in both muscles and essence energy.

His true form at Wuzhong Ridge meditated on "dry" enlightenment, his cycle of reincarnation in Central Earth was "flourishing". If he could fully comprehend that, naturally he would clear up all mists, see the vast sky, attain great enlightenment, understand his own nature, and leap across the current cliff in one go to soar high into the heavens.

But he had failed to fully comprehend it; his true form had entered the misguided path of "dryness", beginning to petrify, while this reincarnated body had entered the misguided path of "flourishing", with uncontrolled Qi and blood starting to boil and burn within.

In panic, he tried to suppress it with cultivation, but this kind of Demon Tribulation originated from within, and while Mana could defend against external evil, it was powerless against inner demons. Essentially, both the force of righteousness and evil within him had the same source—himself. The stronger the Mana, the greater the demonic power, and so the force of Deviation intensified.

First, a green light emanated from his face—the Taiyin Green Spirit Divine Light he had been cultivating in hopes of suppressing the essence energy and restoring it to its origin—but immediately, a red light appeared, the light of Deviation, as green and red interchanged, casting his face in an entwining glow of colors, his eyes bloodshot with flashes of green light showing fiendishly terrifying.

Meanwhile, the Golden Cicada laughed, "Father, look, this old fool is truly from a crooked path. Just a few words from me and he's already deviating. This useless old waste is not even good enough to be a dog guarding our door, and others of the Emei Sect would laugh at us for lacking good bones and failing to find good dogs…"

Elder Kuzhu knew these were illusions and could easily destroy them, but the rationale spoken by the opposition could not be obliterated.

He truly had been trying to curry favor with the Emei for future tribulations, painstakingly trying to please his savior. Even if they hadn't called him a dog, in essence, he was indeed acting like one…

Thinking this, a surge of anger accompanied by uncontrollable essence energy rushed upward, attacking his heart and lungs, followed by exploding blood rushing into his brain.

"Ah!" Elder Kuzhu spat out a mouthful of fresh blood, and blood also surged from his eyes, ears, and nostrils.

"Father, look, he really is useless. Just a few words and he's spitting blood from anger, truly not even deserving to be a dog…"

Elder Kuzhu didn't let him finish this time, and with a loud roar, he waved his hand and scattered the "Qi father and son."

"My son! Don't you care about your mother?" His parents and siblings then appeared behind him, "Mother wants to follow you to Great Wilderness Mountain to enjoy the fortune of immortals, and you should teach me to cultivate as well…"

Elder Kuzhu reacted by scattering them all again.

Around him, twelve kinds of smoke swirled, gradually blending into a singular color of blood red, transforming the pond and the rockery into blood. The people he had just slain crawled out drenched in blood, Qi Shuming and the Golden Cicada also emerging covered in blood.

The Golden Cicada pointed at Elder Kuzhu and said, "Father, this wretch has really reversed the Heavenly Gang and wants to kill us—such boldness! When he encounters his tribulation in the future, I will not save him. You are his nemesis, and you needn't hold back either; defeat him, shatter his soul into a dog's body, and lead him back to Emei Mountain, to let him be a true dog for nine lifetimes…"

Elder Kuzhu was so enraged that he was nearly delirious and once again struck his father and son apart with a wave of his hand. He then bellowed, "Savior or nemesis, Emei or Wutai, anyone who dares to insult me, I will kill them all! I want to return to my former self, I want to kill to my heart's content!"

He then shattered the gurgling, bloody pool and rockery, and with his hands thrust upward, his palms wildly emitting green light enveloped in blinding silver luminescence like two enormous trees of green light, stretching straight up, piercing dozens of feet of thick blood fog, slamming against the "ceiling" of the array.

He let out a loud roar like a crazed beast, using his strength alone to shake the entire array.

"Boom boom boom..." The array constantly trembled, and within the dense fog, a series of loud thunderclaps echoed.

As he continued to exert his power, the redness quickly receded, and the red blood fog again transformed into twelve entangled smokes of various colors, from which sprang multicolored showers of blossoms, bursting forth beautifully.

Elder Kuzhu increased his mana output. He intended to shatter the entire array with his mana alone, and once out, he would kill everyone indiscriminately, before piercing the earth's crust, triggering the mixed elemental spirit qi and true fire within, igniting the magnetic forces, and blasting the entire Outer Heaven Divine Mountain into tribulation ash!

Following that, he would go to Central Earth, slaughter Qi Shuming and his son, and the Emei Sect—all of them, without exception!

He wanted to prove to the world, and to himself, that he, Elder Kuzhu, possessed boundless mana, and did not need anyone else to pass what they call the great tribulation of Earth Immortals. He could do it alone. The saviors and nemesis, he would kill them all and see how they could do anything to him!

The array Shi Feiyang had set up with the Liu Ren Formation was not particularly lethal; it mainly evolved according to the opponent's inner life, a questioning of the heart.

At this time, Elder Kuzhu was caught in total madness, his faculties deserted, his vital energies disordered, and his mana much lower than usual. Yet he recklessly unleashed his potential, exhausting his lifespan, investing everything in his attacks without regard. He cared little for the reincarnated body he possessed, offering it up as a sacrifice. He had nearly a hundred years of life left, and now he was converting it all to mana.

Consequently, the array was about to be completely shattered in just a few moments, along with the Twelve Flower Evil God Gang and all the demons inside. Except for the Myriad Cold Centipede, everything else would be obliterated, body and soul destroyed utterly!

Fortunately, Shi Feiyang had just awakened.

He had been awake for a while but was still very weak, much like last time; a scaleless white slender dragon with a body smooth as jade, small horns atop his head, and two black and bright eyes, spirited and lively.

His spirit quickly recovered, though his body remained weary. Emerging from his original black-scaled shell, he assessed his own form; his back was smooth, and the wings he had cultivated through mana were no longer there; it seemed this feature hadn't integrated into his genetics, and he would have to cultivate them anew in the future.

Jade Lotus Miaomiao and the three Mo brothers were taking care of the severely fractured Jin Xunu who greeted his appearance with cheers: "Brother!"

Shi Feiyang took a deep breath, transformed from a dragon back to a human. This time, however, his physique and face had changed; his features became even more refined and he looked a year or two younger, adding much ethereal immortal energy to his demeanor with each glance.

He donned a silver-lined white robe over his body, stepping onto the warm jade tiles of the Immortal Palace. Suddenly, his knees weakened, nearly causing him to fall.

Miaomiao quickly helped him to a broad chair to sit, bringing over a bottle of True Water.

Shi Feiyang gestured with his hand; he had drunk enough True Water already and did not need it now. Catching his breath, he beckoned them to bring over the Yu Ding from the table in front of him. After settling a bit, he channeled the restored mana through his left hand, gesturing towards the ding. Suddenly, the Ding Cover popped up, hovering in the air. Then, a five-colored radiance shot out from within the ding, entering the array outside the hall.

Having done all this, he took the Nine Heavens Yuan Yang Ruler and sat cross-legged on the chair, concentrating, silently calculating. Everything was going according to his prior plan—Elder Kuzhu had deviated from the Immortal Path.

He was slightly relieved. Turning to Jin Xunu, who had been severely injured by Elder Kuzhu, having had all his bones shattered and his soul barely held together.

However, Shi Feiyang was surrounded by various Spiritual Medicines. Miaomiao's original form was Heavenly Jade Lotus, which could detoxify; Mo Zhui's original form was Queen Mother Grass, capable of reviving the dead; Mo Xiang's original form was Immortal Mushrooms, which could use poison against poison; and Mo Ying's original form was Purple River Grass, which could help nurture Golden Cores and refine Nascent Souls.

Just a few strands of their hair could bring back someone from death, not to mention the various elixirs that Shi Feiyang had prepared in advance.

From Purple Cloud Palace, Shi Feiyang had brought back Red Heart Repairing Broken Flower and Millennium Rejuvenation Grass specifically for treating traumatic fractures like these, and had early refined it into a matching Spirit Pill.

Miaomiao and Mo Zhui worked together to properly reset Jin Xunu's bones and apply Spiritual Medicines both internally and externally. After such a long time, by the time Shi Feiyang awoke, Jin Xunu was already able to stand and move freely, though not yet fully recovered. He still needed a few more days of taking elixirs and recuperating.

He approached to congratulate his teacher on successfully surviving the tribulation.

Shi Feiyang looked outside at the array, saying with slight concern, "The plan I calculated before I fell unconscious only goes up to this point. We need to carefully consider what to do next."

Jin Xunu sighed, "That beggar is just too formidable, fortunate that he's trapped in the array for so long. Now that you, Master, have passed the tribulation and your cultivation and mana have advanced even further, dealing with him shouldn't be too difficult, right?"

"It's not that easy!" Shi Feiyang chuckled, "He is one of the Cosmic Six Strange, with more than a thousand years of Dao cultivation. While I, in this True Dragon Body, have just matured, formed a Dragon Ball, and only just cultivated a Fetus Immortal Baby on the Immortal Path—still frail and not even an Earth Immortal yet, so I definitely can't contend with him."
