The Ancestor of All Demons

Chapter 232: 228 Qingcheng Mountain

Shi Feiyang wanted to help Jiang Shu establish the Qingcheng Sect before Zhu Mei, and also to guide him in taking in all of Zhu the Dwarf's old disciples. In the event of a future conflict with the Emei Sect, this would allow Qingcheng Sect to at least remain neutral, leaving Zhu the Dwarf as the only one to cozy up to the Emei Sect.

To establish the Qingcheng Sect, they had first to occupy Golden Whip Cliff, which was the spot designated by Jile Perfected Li Jingxu and the two venerable ancestors, Tian Dou and Ming He, as the future site for the foundation of the Qingcheng Sect.

However, Li Jingxu quickly abandoned the idea of founding a sect and never went to Golden Whip Cliff. Tian Dou and Ming He did open two cave dwellings there and cultivated for a time, then they went to the Human World to preach the Dao and sealed the place with spells, never returning.

Golden Whip Cliff was now occupied by others, two fellow disciples, one named Hemp-Crowned Taoist Si Taixu, the other named Yellow-Crowned Taoist Wu Li. They both came from a minor lineage but had managed to cultivate their Nascent Souls to perfection, and in a few decades would be able to undergo Ascension.

Before long, upon Zhu Mei's reincarnation and return, she would drive the two away and take over this place to establish her sect.

Hemp-Crowned Taoist Si Taixu fled to Lao Mountain to find a new cave dwelling for cultivation, aware of his celestial destiny, and quickly clung to the great thigh of the Emei Sect, letting his disciples mix with the juniors of Emei.

Wu Li's fate was more tragic, getting entangled with Evil Corpse Gu Chen, ultimately resulting in Gu Chen seizing his body and costing him his life.

Shi Feiyang needed to take Golden Whip Cliff before Zhu Mei did. He left his disciples behind at the Rotary Temple to continue their cultivation practices, taking only Jiang Shu and Zhu Changyuan with him to Qingcheng Mountain.

Zhu Changyuan had received orders from his grandfather, Zhu Zaiyu, to follow his great-uncle for cultivation in the days ahead.

Zhu Zaiyu, knowing about his past life's entanglement with Shi Feiyang and that he was predestined for immortality and blessed with wisdom, was not someone meant for the mortal world, so he sent him here to follow all of his great-uncle's arrangements.

Shi Feiyang had him change into the attire of a noble from the Human World and disguise himself as a little Taoist boy to follow by his side.

When the three arrived at Qingcheng Mountain, Jiang Shu stared at Golden Whip Cliff from a distance, feeling an intense familiarity surge in his mind: "Those two cave dwellings are where my two masters once cleansed their hearts and minds."

As he spoke, he was about to directly approach them, but Shi Feiyang stopped him, "Even if those two cave dwellings were opened by your masters back then, time has passed, and others have taken up residence there; we can't just demand them back by force."

Jiang Shu asked, "Then what should we do? Will they just willingly leave?"

"Of course they won't, but all matters must be approached properly, with a well-known master. Just follow me," Shi Feiyang didn't go up the cliff, but instead landed with him at the base of Golden Whip Cliff.

Golden Whip Cliff was said to be where Zhao Gongming had hidden his whip before his Ascension, a steep cliff of imposing height, insurmountable for monkeys and birds alike.

Arriving at the base of the cliff, Shi Feiyang took out the Zhou Tianyu Light Disc, held the Formation Plate in his left hand, and began to make calculations with his right hand.

With each actual situation, his right hand made corresponding move changes, mana pouring into the Yu Guang Disc, causing the three pointers within to rotate, indicating directions. He kept inputting variables, the pointers spinning continuously, sometimes rising high, sometimes dipping low, swaying and trembling at intervals.

Shi Feiyang skimmed the forest floor for a while, then ascended into the air above the trees, adjusted his direction, and descended back into the woods.

After searching for two hours, they finally found a spot. He told Jiang Shu, "There is a treasure beneath here. If we dig it up, those on the cliff will surely come to snatch it."

Jiang Shu understood his intent and paused for a moment: "But what if they don't come to snatch it?"

"If they don't come for it, it means they are of high moral standing and should reside here. I will find you another good place to establish your sect," Shi Feiyang replied.

Looking up at the cliff that rose like a giant wall connecting to the sky, Jiang Shu was reluctant to give up: "But my masters once said that the Qingcheng Sect should be founded here."

"That's why they will surely come for it!"

Shi Feiyang had Zhu Changyuan start the excavation while he directed from the side.

Zhu Changyuan summoned the Pure Yang Immortal Sword, transforming it into two white lights that intersected and burrowed into the earth, loosening the soil, before casting a spell to lift it out and pile it beside.

The flashing sword light soon caught the attention of those above the cliff. Two young Taoists flew down, one of them shouting sternly, "Who are you wild Taoists from? How dare you come to Golden Whip Cliff and dig the earth?"

The other one spoke arrogantly, "You three little creatures should ask around--do you not know who lives on top of the cliff? Among all the righteous and evil factions' Sword Immortals, who would dare to meddle with anything here? You must have the audacity of bears and leopards!"

As Jiang Shu was about to speak, Shi Feiyang stopped him and said to the two Taoists, "We've divined that there's a treasure here and have come from afar especially to excavate it."

The two young men exchanged a glance after hearing this, "How did you calculate this? What treasure is here?"

Shi Feiyang said, "I used the Seven Birds Divine Skill of the North Sea Xuantian Crone and deduced from the Gua Xiang that the treasure is round at one end and pointed at the other, empty in the center at one end and full in the center at the other, capable of emitting fire with coldness, swift as thunder and quick as lightning, resembling something like a drill or an awl."

The two immediately said, "This Golden Whip Cliff is the cultivation ground of our master, Daoist Wu Li with the Glowing Aura; all things here belong to our sect. How dare you outsiders try to steal them? If you know what's good for you, leave the two Flying Swords in that kid's hands as compensation and then get the hell out of here, otherwise your lives won't be spared!"

They saw the outstanding quality of the Pure Yang Immortal Sword in Zhu Changyuan's hands, even better than those used by their own master and martial uncles, and greed arose in their hearts. They intended not only to stop the treasure hunting but also to demand the Immortal Swords.

On the spot, Jiang Shu was about to erupt in anger but was stopped by Shi Feiyang, who then said to Zhu Changyuan, "Those two Daoist friends want your Flying Swords. Are you willing to give them up?"

Zhu Changyuan said, "These two Pure Yang Immortal Swords are gifts from my grandfather; I cannot give them to others."

The two young Daoists snorted coldly, "The brat doesn't know what's good for him. Since you won't offer them willingly, we will take them ourselves!"

The two released their Flying Swords at the same time, two strands of yellow sword light shooting towards Zhu Changyuan like Flood Dragons. Zhu Changyuan immediately controlled his twin swords to meet the attack. The four swords clashed and struck against each other, tangled in combat.

Shi Feiyang watched from the side, sighing to himself that these two individuals were not weak in cultivation, their swordsmanship could be considered superior, but the quality of their Flying Swords was truly poor.

In the Shushan World, the quality of Flying Swords is usually classified according to the color of the sword light, from high to low: gold, white, green, yellow, with other colors like purple, red, and blue being more rare and interspersed among them.

With gold sword light being the highest quality and yellow the lowest, yellow sword light signifies impurities and lack of purity in the sword light, and unless it is made from special materials, it is considered inferior.

The Flying Swords of these two young Daoists were just like that, several grades lower than Zhu Changyuan's Pure Yang Immortal Sword. The Demon Refining Flying Sword of Lv Zu was no small matter, even more formidable than the usual golden Flying Swords!

After the four swords collided, the two Daoists' swords started to fall apart. After about the duration of a cup of tea, their Flying Swords had turned into saws. They wanted to recall them but feared Zhu Changyuan's twin swords would pursue from behind and potentially kill them in a follow-through, so they gritted their teeth and kept fighting until several 'crack' sounds were heard, and their two Flying Swords broke into five or six pieces, falling to the ground.

Seeing this, the two's eyes reddened—these were the swords they had refined with great difficulty and with help from their master!

Now that they were destroyed right before their eyes, they furiously cursed Zhu Changyuan, "You little bastard, how dare you destroy our Immortal Swords, today none of the three of you shall escape death!"

The two each took out a small flag from their sleeves, one black and one white, and with a slight shake, they immediately vanished from sight. At the same time, a violent wind arose in the forest, shaking trees and blowing dust and sand around.

Jiang Shu was about to make a move but was stopped again by Shi Feiyang, "There's no need for us to take action, just watch what Yuan'er can do."

Zhu Changyuan realized that the two were using a Taiji Qimen Formation, a variant derived from the Qimen Dunjia, something he and his grandfather Zhu Zaiyu studied at home the most. Although his effort was insufficient to see their hidden forms, he calculated their positions in an instant and sent out the twin Flying Swords.

The two thought that the banner-formation passed down by their master was infinitely cunning and could entrap and kill an enemy. Now that their Flying Swords were destroyed, they hated Zhu Changyuan to the core and planned to circle to a side gate to cast a spell and kill for the swords.

They had no idea that they were showing off in front of an expert. Before they could even finish waving their banners and completing their spells, the Immortal Swords pierced toward them like lightning. One was pierced through the chest on the spot and flew backward, crashing between two trees.

The other had his spell-casting right arm severed, screaming out loud with blood streaming.

Zhu Changyuan felt that they were arrogant and ignorant, yet they folded so easily. He didn't pursue to kill them, instead, recalling his Flying Swords.

The man looked at his fallen companion with a hole in his chest, gritted his teeth in rage, "You all wait! Let's see if my master comes whether you will die or not!" After saying that, he waved the small flag with his remaining left hand, soared up into the air, and flew towards the top of the cliff to seek solace from his master.

After he left, Shi Feiyang said to Jiang Shu, "See? What your master said was right, and what I said was also correct."

Jiang Shu looked up at the cliff top, sighed, "They really are..."

Soon after, someone else flew down from above, this time a green sword light, followed by four yellow sword lights, rapidly descending to the ground. The light dispersed to reveal a Daoist wearing a royal crown and straw sandals, tall with a long, majestic beard hanging down to his chest.

He was accompanied by four disciples, one of which was the one-armed individual, the one who had flown away earlier. He sternly asked, "Was it you three whelps who killed my disciple and sliced off this one's arm?"

Shi Feiyang knew this was Wu Li and began to explain, "We came here to hunt for treasure, and your two disciples were rude, claiming that this place is yours and that we were not allowed to touch anything. They saw my grandson's Flying Swords and got greedy, demanding that he present the swords before allowing us to leave; naturally, my grandson refused, and they released their Flying Swords intending to kill..."

Wu Li, looking at the pair of treasure swords suspended in front of Zhu Changyuan, his eyes somewhat glazed, his own Flying Swords paled in comparison to these, reduced to no more than scrap iron rods or rusty kitchen knives.

He angrily interrupted Shi Feiyang, "I don't want to hear your babbling! You killed my disciples, and you must pay with your lives, for this is the way of heaven. Prepare to die!" Saying this, he unleashed the green sword light straight at Shi Feiyang!
