"The 'Chi You Three Disks Scripture' was not created by Chi You himself; the author was one of his subordinates in the past.
When Chi You was killed by the Yellow Emperor, his head and limbs were separately enshrined in various places, and his tribes were also punished by the Yellow Emperor. Those who had committed heinous crimes were subjected to capital punishment, and those with lesser evil were suppressed and imprisoned. The Great Demons who persisted in their wickedness were all slaughtered, while those who repented were allowed to surrender and leave.
Many of Chi You's ministers were recruited by the Yellow Emperor, and all the tribes were integrated into the Yanhuang system.
Although many people outwardly submitted to the Yellow Emperor, they still held nostalgia for Chi You in secret. After the Yellow Emperor ascended to heaven, these individuals began to take action: some collected Chi You's corpse, and even built a large tomb for him at Bu Zhou Mountain where they buried his bones.
Others gathered to compile and edit the Dao that Chi You had advocated, continuing from the time after the Yellow Emperor up until the Xia Dynasty, until they finally produced three volumes of scriptures, which are the 'Chi You Three Disks Scripture.'
Chi You's studies were quite diverse; he inherited the Dao of ancient sages like Emperor Jun, Xi He, and Chang Xi, developed his own 'Chi You's Dao,' and fused them together, creating many spells and also various witchcraft, Demon Skills, and so on that had helped him in battles.
Of the 'Three Disks,' namely the Divine Plate, the Demon Plate, and the Demon Disk, each volume emphasizes different Cultivation Techniques. The volume that Geng Kun obtained was the Demon Disk Scripture of the middle volume, which contained matters concerning Demons, while the lower volume Demon Disk was obtained by Hongyun.
The 'demon' in this scripture is not the same as the 'demon' character described in later generations, nor does it share the same connotation as the so-called orthodox Demon Path that came from the west in later times.
It doesn't cultivate the Lifebound Divine Demon. The Demons of later generations are more like ghosts, starting with the Primordial Spirit Soul and becoming elusive and endlessly transformative after refinement.
The main focus of Chi You Demon Skill is refining the body, toughening the muscles, bones, and skin, making oneself impervious to weapons and even growing three heads and six arms, a thousand hands and a thousand eyes. Legend has it that in the early days of Primordial Chaos, amidst the Dragon Han, there were Great Divine Demons standing a thousand zhang tall, capable of holding up the heavens, wielding clouds, and rubbing the moon... That was the path he pursued.
Of course, legend is only legend, Chi You did not achieve this himself; it is merely the theoretical achievement the authors divined when compiling the book.
Those who compiled the book not only gathered Chi You's skeletal remains but also collected his three lingering souls, each enshrined in the volumes. They left prophecies at the end of each book, predicting Chi You's potential revival and rebirth.
'When ritual and music crumble, benevolence and righteousness no longer prevail, morals are lost, humanity is extinguished, beastly nature reemerges, the Demon Path prevails, and all beasts prey on humans, the three volumes of scriptures will reconvene, the three souls of Emperor Chi You will come together at Bu Zhou Mountain where the three corpses welcome his return, and the Emperor shall once again descend upon the Human World...'
Now, the Chi You that Shi Feiyang saw was one of those residual souls!
Looking at Chi You with two horns on his head and red light shining from his eyes, Shi Feiyang felt as if he had traveled back in time once more, as though he had returned to the era when the Yellow Emperor ruled over all under the heavens.
The aura released by Chi You was like that of a ferocious beast, and also like an Evil God. It was said that not even the combined fury of ten thousand raging bulls and giant elephants or a million One Light Masters could match him. Despite the barrier of the Purple Qi Golden Flower imbued with the essence of the Nine Heavens Yuan Yang Ruler, Shi Feiyang felt a chill down his spine.
However, a mere soul remnant is ultimately just that—a remnant. No matter how formidable he was in life, now he could only be confined within the pages of a book.
Like the Elephant Dragon within the Yu Ding, the most lethal means of attack is a primordial spirit attack; that is, the two beams of red light that shoot out from the eyes. Although ordinary Cultivators can't withstand it and are immediately pinned down upon being struck, immobilizing their Primordial Spirit, Shi Feiyang had the Nine Heavens Yuan Yang Ruler in hand, which could completely shield him from harm.
Chi You's red gaze could not penetrate the Purple Qi Golden Flower and was unable to subdue him as he had the worshippers before, forcing him to adapt his approach, 'What joy is there in cultivating the Daoist Techniques of Guang Chengzi? To ignore all sights and sounds, to embrace the spirit in stillness,
to see nothing with the eyes, hear nothing with the ears, know nothing in the heart, and with the spirit preserving the form, the form thus becomes immortal... Isn't that just turning oneself into a piece of rotten wood? You should cultivate my Dao instead. I'll teach you to become the leader of all kinds. Make all beings of the Heavenly worlds, whether they be flying, crawling, active, or vegetative, land, water, gold, or wood, all submit at your feet. Life and death, creation and destruction, all in your hands!'
Indeed, what Chi You was proposing was very tempting—the supreme power would move anyone, and even animals like monkeys, wolves, lions, and horses, all social creatures, strive to become the king.
But Shi Feiyang knew that what he said was unattainable—as the conflict between humans and demons ensued, it was ultimately humans who became the rulers of the world, and in the battle between Chi You and the Yellow Emperor, it was the latter who emerged victoriously.
Shi Feiyang said, 'I want you to submit at my feet right now, with your life and death, creation and destruction, all under my control.'
Chi You had never expected to receive such a reply. Since the times of the Three Emperors and Five Kings, he had been revered as the War God. Whenever humans went to war, his image would be embroidered on their flags or carved onto utensils, borrowing his ominous might to boost morale. This allowed his three fragmented souls to gradually recover their strength, providing him with the primordial Qi needed for a possible revival and rebirth.
'You've got some nerve!' His eyes suddenly blazed with intensified red light, which surged and sliced off a petal from the Golden Flower above Shi Feiyang's head, which floated gently downward, quickly dispersing into a wisp of golden light.
But that was all he could manage. Shi Feiyang exhaled Essence Energy, and a new petal immediately grew back on the Golden Flower, restoring it to its former state.
He then pointed the Ruler, and a massive wave of Hongmeng Purple Qi rolled over Chi You. As Shi Feiyang unleashed three more Pure Yang Golden Flowers, which were like three insurmountable mountains to Chi You, revolving and pressing down. Despite Chi You's furious roars, he was steadily pushed back into the book.""
In the end, a flash of golden light and the Purple Qi Golden Flower disappeared along with Chi You, and the light inside the Underground Palace returned to normal.
Shi Feiyang stepped forward and picked up the ancient text, which had now become just like any ordinary old book, except for the addition of three Golden Flower marks on the cover.
He had taken the Chi You Three Disks Scripture to merely glance through, to reference and learn from it, with the main purpose being to aid his comprehension of his own Three Emperors Dao.
Using the three Golden Flowers to suppress Chi You's Primordial Spirit meant that the next time the Nine Heavens Yuan Yang Ruler was used, only six flowers would remain, significantly weakening its power, a somewhat pyrrhic victory.
He thought for a moment, took the book, and returned to the surface. Hong Yun was someone who particularly enjoyed luxury, having decorated the palace extravagantly and beautifully. Shi Feiyang sat on a large swing bed woven from vines, with sunlight pouring in through the open windows and surrounded by an abundance of fresh flowers and red leaves, creating a splendid atmosphere. Of course, the sounds of a duel exploding in the distance could still be heard.
Shi Feiyang lay on the bed, reading through the Chi You Three Disks Scripture. He read quickly, ten lines at a glance, yet every detail was deeply etched into his brain, not a single character missed.
Having read more than half, the sound of the duel outside ceased; Taiyin Hunyuan Ancestor had claimed victory, having killed Hong Yun and forcibly taken her Primordial Spirit.
Taiyin Hunyuan Ancestor saw that Yang Xu and the other two were still locked in fierce battle with Hong Yun's disciples, and they had yet to gain the upper hand.
He had previously used spells to trap Chen Taizhen and Hu Yanxian, causing them great harm. Although he hadn't known the relationship between Shi Feiyang and them at the time, he now felt somewhat remorseful and wanted to make amends. Descending from the heavens, his Flying Sword stirred the cosmos like a green dragon stirring the sea, slashing left and right, swiftly cutting down four people.
The remaining disciples of Hong Yun, realizing their master was dead, scattered in terror.
Taiyin Hunyuan Ancestor had already sealed the surrounding space with the Taiyin Five Smoke Net, trapping everyone inside with no escape, slashing each one in two with his sword.
"Where is Shi Daoist friend?" Taiyin Hunyuan Ancestor asked.
The three looked at the dismembered corpses strewn about, swallowing hard. Chen Taizhen only now realized the true strength of the Wutai Sect Leader, understanding that he had been merciful with Hu Yanxian and himself earlier. If he had come to kill right from the start, even if Shi Feiyang arrived later, there would have been no chance of rescue.
Yang Xu said, "Shi Shibo instructed us to seek retribution for our grievances. After we finish, he will come to find us."
He knew that Shi Feiyang had gone to retrieve a scripture and that he had headed towards the most splendid palace inside, but he did not wish to tell Taiyin Hunyuan Ancestor, nor did he want to lie, so he expressed it this way.
Taiyin Hunyuan Ancestor glanced around and made a quick inference in his mind, "Shi Daoist friend has gone to find something, some sort of book, and has already succeeded. He is in a palace, and that palace is associated with sleep... that must be where Hong Yun lived and cultivated."
He quickly located the direction and flew off to find Shi Feiyang.
As he entered the palace gates, he saw Shi Feiyang lying on a large swinging bed covered in flower petals, fragrant with blossoms, reading a book.
He had never seen a cultivator like this and was startled for a moment.
Shi Feiyang sat up and greeted him, "Have you finished over there?"
Taiyin Hunyuan Ancestor nodded, "The book you have there, did you get it from her? Is it... the Chi You Three Disks Scripture?"
Many knew about Hong Yun acquiring the Chi You Three Disks Scripture; naturally, Taiyin Hunyuan Ancestor was no exception.
"Yes," Shi Feiyang handed over the scripture for him to see.
Taiyin Hunyuan Ancestor was somewhat surprised to see him pass it over so easily, as such scriptures were the objects of dreams for all cultivators in the world, and many could spend lifetimes praying to the heavens without ever having the chance to glimpse one.
He took the book to look at it and then returned it to Shi Feiyang, "I'm about to start the Sacrificial Refinement of the Heavenly Demon Immortal Slaying Sword. Could you assist me as a protector? I am willing to impart the Sword Refining Technique to you."
Shi Feiyang had anticipated this and waved his hands with a laugh, "No, no. Your sword fundamentally goes against the harmony of heaven, and according to the Heavenly Number, it simply can't be refined. It requires someone with a spirit that can triumph over the heavens, with immense perseverance and wisdom to even have a slim chance of success. Moreover, the refining process will undoubtedly be fraught with difficulties and calamity after calamity—I will not protect such a spell for you."
If he truly assisted Taiyin Hunyuan Ancestor in refining the Heavenly Demon Immortal Slaying Sword, it would be equivalent to fully committing to the Wutai Sect. Henceforward, every righteous person the sword killed would partly be his responsibility, as such Demon Swords inherently sought to harm, not only harming the adversaries of the bearer but also rebounding upon the bearer themselves, different from ordinary Flying Sword Magical Treasures.
He shook the Chi You Three Disks Scripture he held in his hand, "I am indeed very interested in the Heavenly Demon Immortal Slaying Sword. You pass the Sword Refining Technique to me, and I'll give you this scripture—but there's a strand of Emperor Chi You's Primordial Spirit within it, and you'll need to find a way to suppress it yourself."
