"You should revise those cultivation techniques, not everything should be passed on to disciples," Shi Feiyang proposed the method he had thought out in advance, "The Daoist technique practiced by the Wutai Sect blends Daoist and demonic elements, and later, you acquired the 'Chi You Three Disks Scripture'; there's too much of a mix, and not all of it is suitable for disciples to cultivate. If the three of you do not mind my shallow knowledge and limited ability, I can help your sect comprehend and revise the Daoist books together."
Upon hearing this, the Taiyin Hunyuan Ancestor and Xu Feiniang immediately showed their enthusiasm!
The Taiyin Hunyuan Ancestor was able to exchange insights with the Huashan Sect, studying together the Supreme Heaven Fierce Fire Formation, and both sects got along as if they were one, which was very progressive with regards to exchanging Daoist techniques.
Sikong Zhan had no objections. After the battle in the Star Constellations Sea, he had acknowledged Shi Feiyang's strength. He had many things he wanted to learn from Shi Feiyang, but he was too proud to ask; now, he had the perfect excuse!
The Wutai Sect's techniques partly came from instruction by his master and partly from the Daoist books the Taiyin Hunyuan Ancestor had incidentally acquired in his early years; the rest were his own creation over hundreds of years, including both Daoist and demonic elements. Right and left paths jumbled together, relying on these, the Taiyin Hunyuan Ancestor had founded the Wutai Sect that contended with the Emei Sect in swordplay, a true testament to his exceptional wisdom and root bone qualifications.
Shi Feiyang first reviewed all the Daoist scriptures and Immortal Scrolls, then began compiling the Daoist books.
He named the entire book "Taiyin Hunyuan Scripture," divided into three volumes: the upper volume discussed Dao, the middle volume discussed spells, and the lower volume discussed techniques.
The opening emphasized the role of Dao: "A person's ultimate achievement depends entirely on the Dao foundation. If one's Dao foundation is profound, then the future is vast. If one thoroughly comprehends the great Dao, any cultivation technique can be created at will, and any spell can be applied situationally. Moreover, even if one strays slightly off the path during the journey, one can correct oneself and return. Prioritizing techniques over Dao is the first malady of cultivation!"
He began compiling the upper volume of the Daoist scripture. The Wutai Sect's techniques all prioritized techniques over Dao, including the Daoist books obtained by the Taiyin Hunyuan Ancestor, which also contained minimal descriptions about Dao.
Shi Feiyang excerpted everything the Wutai Sect already had, considered it as two parts, then added some of his own insights about the Heavenly Dao, compiling ten chapters, from "Knowing Dao," to "Comprehending Dao," then "Seeing Dao," "Proving Dao," "Achieving Dao," and finally "Harmonizing Dao," a total of one hundred thousand words. The beginning was exceptionally detailed, becoming more concise towards the end; the final "Harmonizing Dao" chapter was only twenty-eight lines of mnemonic verse.
While compiling the second part, he suddenly said to the Taiyin Hunyuan Ancestor, "The Wutai Sect is now empty, without even a disciple to attend."
The Taiyin Hunyuan Ancestor replied, "Then I will go down the mountain to find a few disciples."
Shi Feiyang hurriedly gestured, "That must not be done! Disciples should not be accepted indiscriminately. After so many hardships, haven't you learned your lesson?"
His words might have been a bit harsh, but the Taiyin Hunyuan Ancestor didn't find it inappropriate; he already regarded Shi Feiyang as a lifesaver and wouldn't object to anything he said.
"I previously helped you calculate that today a person will come from the Ganshan Road, a young man in his early twenties, originally a scholar, who is traveling around seeking Immortals and visiting different paths; he is a promising candidate. By tomorrow at the 'you' hour, he will reach Taiyuan. You can go and find him to take him in as a disciple; I guarantee he will be stronger than your original disciples."
Saying this was already enough; the Taiyin Hunyuan Ancestor himself could divine and use these known clues to locate the person.
He personally went down the mountain to find a disciple, while Shi Feiyang continued writing the Daoist book, practicing cultivation techniques, and also compiled "ten chapters," a total of four Mystical Sect's Great Techniques and twelve minor techniques.
After reviewing, Xu Feiniang was extraordinarily impressed: "Many original flaws, which I had overcome during my cultivation through perseverance and chance, couldn't be taught to disciples to achieve, but you managed to mend all these flaws, not only removing them but also revealing many new profound benefits."
She was enthused, picked up a pen, and began making annotations, interpreting each sentence of Shi Feiyang's text. Having cultivated for hundreds of years, seen many things, and possessing high Daoist skills, her annotations often struck at the core, enlightening the reader.
The second volume also contained one hundred thousand words, and then he began writing the third part.
At that time, the Taiyin Hunyuan Ancestor returned, accompanied by two young men, Fang Ying and Yuan Hao.
These two, who were friends with common aspirations, had admired tales of Immortals since childhood. At age twenty, they forsaken the imperial examinations, left home, and ventured thousands of miles with packed provisions, seeking Immortals and visiting different paths.
Later, the two split up to seek their paths, swearing to the heavens that whichever of them attained enlightenment first would come back to enlighten the other.
Yuan Hao traveled from Ganshan eastward, first climbed Hua Mountain, found only martial artists from Jianghu practicing combat, and the new Sect Leader of Huashan Sect, "Divine Sword Immortal Ape," noticed his good root bone qualifications and wanted to take him as a disciple.
He asked the "Divine Sword Immortal Ape," "I only want to learn that kind of Immortal Law where I can point my finger and a Flying Sword shoots out. If you know it, I will kowtow and become your disciple immediately."
As expected, it was not possible. He then descended from Hua Mountain and went through Luliang, Zhongtiao, Wutai, and Heng Mountain on his journey. The Taiyin Hunyuan Ancestor intercepted him in Taiyuan and truly demonstrated the arts of Sword Control.
Yuan Hao then pointed to a patch of yellowed land, requesting rain from the Taiyin Hunyuan Ancestor to alleviate the drought.
The Taiyin Hunyuan Ancestor used a cloud-moving Spell to gather white clouds and brought down a moderate rainstorm, after which Yuan Hao joyfully took him as his master.
After taking him as his mentor, Yuan Hao mentioned a good friend named Fang Ying, who was much more intelligent and wise than himself and also wholeheartedly pursued the Dao.
The Wutai Sect was in need of people, so the Taiyin Hunyuan Ancestor took him to search for Fang Ying and found him in West Kongtong based on their calculations.
Fang Ying had already found in West Kongtong the seven Golden Slips and fifty-four Jade Pages left by Guang Chengzi from ancient times, all inscribed with ancient runes. He was still guessing their meanings.
The Taiyin Hunyuan Ancestor descended from the sky with Yuan Hao and Fang Ying was delighted to see them. He joined Yuan Hao in discipleship and offered up the Golden Slips and Jade Pages.
The Taiyin Hunyuan Ancestor looked at the ancient runes on the Talisman but could only understand about one-tenth of them; the rest were obscure and required guesswork.
It was calculated that this book would encounter a fated person every four hundred ninety years. The person who obtained the book must master it thoroughly and then bury it back in the original cave where it was found, sealing it with a Spell; otherwise, if it was taken outside the cave, the book would vanish with the wind, and disaster would befall the person.
The Taiyin Hunyuan Ancestor memorized the contents of the book, then reburied and sealed it, before bringing the two back to Wutai Mountain.
Back at the mountain, he transcribed the text from the Golden Slips and Jade Pages, and Shi Feiyang, after looking, could not only recognize every character but also fully understand the meaning of each sentence.
The Cultivation Techniques contained therein, if followed step by step, could also lead to becoming a Heavenly Immortal, though overall they were quite succinct, probably similar to the techniques Li Jingxu taught to Lu Min.
However, the Spells recorded later were indeed quite powerful, especially the forty-nine Talismans on the seven Golden Slips, along with the diagrams from the Jade Pages, perfectly matched the grand Circulation number. Shi Feiyang cross-referenced them with the three Dan Scriptures he studied and the Circulation God Talisman, integrating and comprehending them all at once, gaining many new insights.
He translated these texts and explained them to the five disciples of the Wutai Sect, then incorporated the book's contents into the "Taiyin Hunyuan Scripture" he was compiling.
The first part had one hundred thousand words, the middle part another hundred thousand words, but the last part, which was more voluminous, involved Talisman Refining, Sword Refining, Artifact Refining, Alchemy, Array techniques, and Escape Skills among others.
The Taiyin Hunyuan Ancestor was a great master who had cultivated for hundreds of years and had learned a wide variety of skills. Xu Feiniang, Sikong Zhan's capabilities and insights were also extremely high; all three had created their own methods, all of which were included in the book.
Shi Feiyang removed all refining methods for the "Divine Infant Sword" and "Yin Soul Sword" and did not include them, nor did he include the Heavenly Demon Immortal-Slaying Sword and Hundred Spirits Immortal-Slaying Sword. Instead, he helped the three jointly create the methods for refining the "Five Fire Thunder Origin Sword" and "Taiyin Yangjian."
In terms of Spell Magical Treasure, he discarded all items like the "Six-Six True Yuan Gourd" and added some items from the Mystical Sect's Righteous Path.
This last part, totaling eight hundred thousand words, when combined with the previous two parts, exceeded one million words, divided into thirty volumes, which the Taiyin Hunyuan Ancestor kept in the cave to teach newly accepted disciples in the future.
Shi Feiyang said to Fang Ying and Yuan Hao, "The two of you can also be considered as having been brought up the mountain by my recommendation, and we have some fate. If you encounter any difficulties in the future, feel free to find me."
The two quickly thanked him and called him "Uncle Master."
Shi Feiyang took out a Golden Sword, two Golden Spears, all from the Yuanjiang Golden Ship, and gave each of them a Magical Treasure he had refined himself.
