The Ancestor of All Demons

Chapter 464: 378 Great Heavenly Dragon Bodhisattva_2

Not to mention others, even those standing next to Bai Mei Zen Master were filled with envy, and a few cultivators like Ji Fan couldn't help but feel indignant: "I'm with you guys too, I fought life and death battles alongside your top disciple, if you're taking on disciples, it should be me, why would you pass on the thousand-year Buddhist Scripture to an enemy? Didn't you see how many of us he just killed?"

Even Jiang Xuejun and Zhu Youmu felt uneasy, as they didn't possess Deng Yin's powerful mana to explore the Saha World where Earth is located. Otherwise, they might have muttered a few words about their lack of strategic value.

"Thank you for your kind offer, Zen Master, I'm touched but I can't accept it. My ambition doesn't lie in Buddhism, but in the Xuanyuan Two Treasures, thus I must let your kind intentions go unfulfilled."

"Ah!" Bai Mei Zen Master sighed deeply, "Why would you cast away True Gold to pick up mere rubble? With your wisdom, how could you not distinguish the real from the fake, the important from the trivial, the noble from the ignoble?"

"Dao generates all things, and law is natural; originally, there is no true or false, no heavy or light, no noble or lowly—it's all distinguished by people. The whole world knows when beauty is recognized, it becomes tainted! Isn't this bad? What is poison to one is honey to another, and what is poison to me is honey to them."

Bai Mei Zen Master, after hearing these words, looked at him for a long time without a word.

He knew that Shi Feiyang had two desperate trump cards: one was the Secret Demon Divine Shuttle in his hand, and the other was the blood-releasing Deng Yin.

Honestly, neither of these big moves could hurt him in the slightest.

But the consequences could sink them both, destroying millennia of cultivation in an instant.

He asked Shi Feiyang, "Those remnants of the Demon Path you rely on, can they really harm us?"

Shi Feiyang was lucid: "They cause no physical or spiritual harm, but the moral and karmic damage is significant."

If he had only one or two Secret Demon Divine Shuttles, they wouldn't even count as a final card. The monks and nuns could join forces to take it away, even without using the Conch Leaf Talisman, and they could contain it after he detonated it.

But over the years, he had accumulated more than twenty. Releasing them all at once could end unpredictably.

Bai Mei Zen Master came this time on behalf of the entire Orthodox Sect to negotiate with him.

Although Shi Feiyang had killed many, he had not caused their souls to be shattered and bodies to be destroyed, so there was still a possibility of a peaceful resolution.

But now, after much persuasion, Shi Feiyang remained immovable, making it clear that there was no need to continue the discussion.

Beside him stood an Independent Immortal from the fringe, who suddenly shouted: "You ungrateful Evil Dragon! You too have many disciples scattered around the world. If we hunt them down everywhere and kill them, what will you do then? If everyone dies, what will you do then, hug the tomb's burial objects, crying or laughing?"

Shi Feiyang just laughed upon hearing this. He came alone to Qiao Mountain this time, not allowing any disciples, followers, or friends to involve themselves in this matter's karma. The Orthodox Sect operates with principles and laws.

Like how he targeted practitioners of fringe and evil paths, capturing their souls and destroying them, but when dealing with people of the Orthodox Sect, he always left a way out, never utterly annihilating them.

It wasn't that he was soft-hearted, but because the people within the Orthodox Sect each had their own clear rules and disciplines, capable of restraining themselves, seldom committing evil acts, never at all. Even someone like Xuan Shu, a practitioner from the fringe, usually secluded himself in a cave for deep cultivation, not bothering the world or causing harm. For such people, killing them only destroys their physical bodies. Even with personal vendettas, their souls shouldn't be scattered. The Way of Heaven cycles on, and such people should be left with a sliver of chance for redemption.

Fighting one's own personal battles is a matter of private enmity, and cases like those vile men of the border mountains who commit many evils and deaths do not deserve pity, and they should be taken as described in the "Heavenly Mechanism Book," and cultivate the Three Emperors Dao. There should be the grandeur and breadth of mind that does make judgments of good and evil based solely on one's likes and dislikes, viewing matters from the grand perspective of the natural Daoist Technique, not from personal biases. The enemy of oneself is not necessarily a bad person, and the one without enmity toward oneself is not necessarily a good person. The more one aligns with the great Dao, the higher the perspective of Daoist spirit from which one should view matters.

It was because of this fundamental difference that he could, to this day, speak face to face with Bai Mei Zen Master.

He knew that no matter the practice of Buddhism, these monks and Taoists who hated him would not vent their anger by attacking Mingyu Immortal Market or going after Mo Zhui; this is the difference between the Righteous Path and the Evil Cult.

He told that person, "My disciples and grand-disciples might be mediocre, but they're not something a lowlife like you can bully. Unless you get Bai Mei, the Big Monk, or Fen Tuo and You Tan to do it, if you really manage that, I'll admit defeat."

He spoke the truth. If these monks and nuns were indeed to do such a thing, it would mean they had fallen, and what would there be to fear?

Zhu Youmu sternly warned, "Don't talk nonsense, how could Master commit such acts?"

Jiang Xuejun chastised Shi Feiyang loudly, "A gentleman uses fairness as his weapon. You assert that the high monks and divine nuns wouldn't do it, which is why you are so fearless, and that's despicable!"

Shi Feiyang laughed again, "If the high monks and divine nuns won't do it, go home and tell your master to do it. My disciples and grand-disciples are scattered all over the world. Let your master kill a few to deter me and show the people of the world."

He added, "If that's really the case, then I don't want the treasure in Holy Mausoleum either. Your sects have plenty of disciples and grand-disciples as well. I'll confront each one and kill one to see who can withstand even one of my strikes?"

Jiang Xuejun was momentarily speechless; she knew that her master would absolutely never do such a thing. If it had to be done, she would do it herself!

She would soon go after the disciples and grand-disciples of the Demon Dragon, killing each one she met...

Just then, she suddenly froze.

The things Master disdained to do, should she do them? She had always considered her master as her role model, learning from her elder's example.

But no matter how hard she tried, she could never quite reach her master's level, neither in Mana nor in temperament. She had thought her master's divine skills were vastly superior, but she didn't know exactly where the superiority lay. Now she realized, at least from this aspect, the difference between herself and her master.

Today, she had lost face and many Magical Treasures and Flying Swords, and she hated Shi Feiyang intensely, wanting only swift revenge.

Suddenly, she realized that not only her master and the high monks and divine nuns, but even the Demon Dragon himself would disdain to do such things.

Indeed, he hadn't done so. Zhuge Jingwo had a great enmity with him, yet now his daughter was by his side, unharmed. He had grievances with the Emei Sect but never bullied or arbitrarily attacked the juniors of the Emei Sect; even when Li Yuanhua and Tong Yuanqi passed right under his eyes recently, he hadn't attacked them.

Jiang Xuejun, recognizing the distance between herself and her master, could perhaps bear it, but realizing the gulf between herself and the Demon Dragon made her break out in a cold sweat, not knowing what to say.

Standing amidst the clouds tinged with Light Energy, far away Bai Mei Zen Master contemplated, "Why not just let him take the Xuanyuan Two Treasures?"

He had seen that although Shi Feiyang had practiced much magic, refining the Nine Child Mother Sky Demon and Nine Heavenly Demon Slaying Immortal Swords, he was fundamentally different from those true demons and evildoers. Although his path differed from his own, viewing from the human perspective, he might be considered an enemy; yet from the perspective of Buddhism, he wasn't an Evil Demon, and taking those two Treasures would only serve him in settling personal grievances, not in harming the common people.
