The Ancestor of All Demons

Chapter 585: 478 Sub-Demon

The Red-haired Ancestor's cave abode had two locations.

His original cultivation spot was at Tu Cui Peak, right across from Lush Peach Mountain, which stretched eight hundred li. The mountain was filled with peach trees that bore fruit every year, and without anyone to pick them, they fell and decomposed into the soil. Over millions of years, this accumulation had fermented into a deadly poison mist.

It was there that Ling Xuehong was poisoned and nearly died. Bai Guyi exhausted all elixirs to no avail.

Luckily, the Red-haired Ancestor had always harbored intentions toward the Peach Blossom Miasma and had prepared the antidote elixir, the thousand-year-old Reng He, in advance, saving her. Later, he spent a great deal of effort to collect the miasma and refined it into a magical treasure.

Later, he opened another cave abode on the Heavenly Dog Cliff at Red Wood Ridge.

The cave was located halfway up the mountain, with a stone plateau extending for three hundred li in front. Peaks of various shapes rose abruptly from the plateau, each with a strange form and a dancing posture—an extraordinary scene of the human world.

To guard against the Demon Corpse Gu Chen, the Red-haired Ancestor had laid out triple-layer arrays on the plateau, and Elder Kuzhu's Taiyi Green Spirit Bamboo Formation was also set up there.

The Nine Child Mother Demon, with her Heavenly Demon Sensing, knew that there were formidable characters waiting for them over there, and that heading straight there would likely bring no advantage. She pointed toward the distant Lush Peach Mountain and Tu Cui Peak, telling Lin Han and Shi Sheng, "We can't go directly to Red Wood Ridge; it's better to head over there."

Shi Sheng was puzzled, "Luo and the others are all at Red Wood Ridge. We need to rescue them, but instead, we are heading elsewhere. If we can't save them, what's the point?"

The Demon replied, "Of course, there's a point. Right now, I'm posing as my master, which is also your master. If I go directly to Red Wood Ridge, my disguise will be seen through once we duel with our spells. It's better to go there first, then cast spells from afar to lure them out!"

Knowing that she was a very powerful demon and had been sent by their master, Lin Han and Shi Sheng, convinced by her certainty, did not insist any further.

The three of them arrived at Tu Cui Peak.

The scenery here was extremely beautiful, with Lush Peach Mountain meandering back and forth for eight hundred li, covered with peach trees and various red mountain flowers.

It was not the season for peaches to ripen, but some thin layers of miasma had accumulated anew.

Wisp by wisp of red fog shone like splendid brocade, drifting and surging between the mountains and valleys.

The area around Tu Cui Peak was smaller, just over a hundred li in circumference, but it stood very tall, towering into the sky, covered with old pines and cypresses, and large-leaved green trees stood abruptly among the red sea of mist—a truly stunning and distinct sight.

Lin Han and Shi Sheng both fell in love with the scenery here and imagined what it must have been like before the Red-haired Ancestor collected the Peach Blossom Cloud Miasma.

The thick red smoke formed waves like a tidal surge below, with natural ebb and flow at certain times. At certain times each day, it emerged from the ground, at its peak submerging small hills, while at other times it would disappear completely, retreating underground.

The Nine Child Mother Sky Demon found the entrance to the Red-haired Ancestor's cave but did not enter. Instead, she set up a Dharma Platform right at the cave's entrance. She first took out a small cauldron—none other than the famed Yu Ding—and then began pulling items out of it.

There were jade bowls and clean bottles, incense burner tokens, as well as small flags and banners.

Shi Sheng watched curiously from the side, "Can you also use Daoist techniques?"

"No, of course not," the Demon, now transformed into Shi Feiyang's appearance, spoke with Shi Feiyang's voice and imitated his expressions and demeanor to perfection, "Many things in Daoism are untouchable and unmanageable for us, such as the Nine Heavens Spiritual Energy and the Pure Yang Fire. However, I use magic. Whatever magic my master knows, I know too, and I use it better and with greater power."

Shi Sheng nodded, "I believe that. After all, you are a Heavenly Demon."

"Wrong, I am not the Heavenly Demon. I am the mother of the Heavenly Demon." The Demon cracked a small joke with Shi Sheng, and without any further delay, arranged the Dharma Platform and began casting spells.

The lid of the Yu Ding flew up first, releasing a burst of colorful light. Within the light, the image of the guardian beast of the cauldron appeared—a lion's face with a dragon's head and a long elephant's trunk, filled with wolf teeth.

This colossal creature, a hundred zhang in length, hung overhead, so large it almost seemed to cover the sky.

The Demon controlled it with Divine Thought, directing it toward Lush Peach Mountain across the way.

It is said that beneath Lush Peach Mountain, in the gorges and marshes, also lived an Elephant Dragon.

This creature, a Primordial Species, had lived in the marshlands and developed Divine Skills by combining the deadly Peach Blossom Miasma with its own Dan Qi. It swallowed and refined the miasma day after day, gradually gaining some control over it.

But it never managed to transform the miasma into its magical treasure. The Red-haired Ancestor guarded this place for many years. Every time he tried to collect the miasma, the Elephant Dragon would draw the poison into the ground, leaving no trace on the surface for anyone to find. When the Red-haired Ancestor was not there, it would release the poison to absorb the essence of the sun and moon.

Eventually, the Red-haired Ancestor decided to settle in a cave abode there and engaged in a battle of wits and courage with it through countless days and nights. In the end, he forcibly claimed all the miasma.

Originally, he had planned to slay the Elephant Dragon as well, refining it into a Magical Treasure; however, the Elephant Dragon was rather cunning and managed to escape into the depths of the swamp, barely saving its life.

Now, the Demon was controlling the Elephant Dragon on the Yu Ding, flying it over the swamp, circling back and forth, continuously issuing cries.

The Elephant Dragon on the Yu Ding was a fierce beast that had roamed the primordial lands for thousands of years.

Yu the Great had slain many Demon Beasts and ultimately selected three thousand of the most ferocious ones to be imprisoned on the Ding, choosing this strongest Elephant Dragon to form the Ding Cover, establishing it as the king amongst the three thousand demon souls, which spoke to its formidable nature.

Compared to him, the one in the swamp was like a kindergartener, only he was without a physical body, while the other still possessed one.

The grand Elephant Dragon circled and danced above the swamp. With its already keen senses, combined with the empowerment and assistance of the Nine Child Mother Sky Demon, it quickly found the hiding place of the little Elephant Dragon.

It suspended itself above and continually cried out, calling for the little Elephant Dragon below to come out.

By this era, creatures like the Elephant Dragon had essentially gone extinct. The one in Lush Peach Mountain had over three thousand years of Dao Level, and had lived so long without ever encountering another of its kind.

Today, it finally heard the call of its own kind and emerged from within the swamp, looking up to see such a large one, it immediately became joyful.

The Demon Beasts imprisoned on the Yu Ding were originally granted very limited authority by Yu the Great; they were expressionless when released and did not cry out. Apart from the Elephant Dragon leader on the cover, the others were unable to use Spells; they could only collide head-on.

After Shi Feiyang obtained the Yu Ding, he reduced his Spell control over them, lightening their constraints. Not only could they roam freely and deploy their Divine Skills while confronting enemies, but they could also communicate with each other within the Ding.

In this lifetime, Shi Feiyang himself also had a Dragon Body and was quite tolerant of the distinction between humans and beasts. His only standard for judgment was: Beasts that follow the Human Dao are also humans; humans who do not do human things are beasts.

During his spare time from Cultivation, he used his own Essence Energy to nurture and refine these beast spirits. He had also researched using Five Elements Essence Qi to reconstruct bodies for them, but regretfully, he had not yet fully mastered the mysteries of creation. Bodies created from Five Elements Essence Qi, whether human or beast, lacked reproductive capabilities and many subtle physiological functions.

However, they had still received much Immortal Spirit Essence and Five Elements Essence Qi from Shi Feiyang, and their bodies had become increasingly condensed. As they flew under the sunlight, they looked just like real, corporeal monsters.

Seeing a fellow of its kind calling out from below, the little Elephant Dragon emerged to greet it. This being the first time it had seen another of its kind in over three thousand years, its heart was wary, but also eager.

The grand Elephant Dragon flew above the swamp and conversed with it, roughly explaining its own origins, then asking it to join forces against the Red-haired Ancestor.

Only then did the little Elephant Dragon learn that it had been slain by humans thousands of years ago and had its Primordial Spirit imprisoned on the Ding; it couldn't help but ask why the big Elephant Dragon still dared trust humans, to cooperate with one against another human.

The grand Elephant Dragon then explained that humans differ from each other, just as beasts do, and by following Shi Feiyang, who had promised it either to help reconstruct its body or send it for reincarnation or directly assist its Cultivation from Ghost Immortal to Earth Immortal, ultimately, it would achieve a genuine result.

It told the little Elephant Dragon that now was the era of human ascension, dominating the universe.

If the little Elephant Dragon continued to waste time in the swamp, after a few more thousand years, despite growing stronger in Mana, essentially nothing would have changed; it would still be wallowing in the mud, and might even end disastrously, killed by someone.

Even if it could hide for seven thousand more years, by the end of the ten thousand year catastrophe, it wouldn't be able to avoid its fate. It would be better to follow Master Shi in Cultivation, to cultivate the Three Emperors Human Dao, and eventually attain the Heavenly Immortal Fruit Position.

Moved by his words, the little Elephant Dragon said, "Where is this Master Shi? I would like to meet him in person to see what kind of human he is before making a decision."

The grand Elephant Dragon said, "Now is not the time for a meeting. If you want to follow Master Shi in Cultivation, you must first prove your worth; you cannot simply learn his Daoist Technique for free. This trip is to bring you along to confront the Red-haired Ancestor."

As soon as the Red-haired Ancestor was mentioned, the little Elephant Dragon became enraged, its scales bristling with fury. The Red-haired Ancestor had cultivated in these mountains for hundreds of years, bullying it for just as long, coming close to killing it several times - a Soul Capturing predation!

Bristling with indignation, the little Elephant Dragon listened to the grand Elephant Dragon's plan to confront the Red-haired Ancestor. Sharing a common hatred, even if it didn't follow Master Shi in Cultivation after this, it could still cooperate and join forces to eliminate the Red-haired Ancestor!

Upon reaching an agreement, the grand Elephant Dragon led it back to seek the Nine Child Mother Sky Demon, who then concocted a strategy. She still ordered the little Elephant Dragon to return to the swamp, while the grand Elephant Dragon cloaked itself among the clouds, and then she began casting her Spell.

The Spell she used was the Heavenly Secret Demon Technique, and she spat out a child.

As the child hit the ground and rolled, it transformed into the appearance of Shi Sheng.

She then spat out another, and this time, the transformation was into Lin Han.

Two Lin Hans and two Shi Shengs looked at each other, all feeling a chilling sensation.

As it turned out, these two children were the offspring of the Demon, her Child Demons.

The Nine Child Mother Sky Demon, as the name suggests, comprised both Child Demons and a Mother Demon.
