The Ancestor of All Demons

Chapter 617: 504 Changed Mind

Pu Miaomiao and Fei Long felt like true connoisseurs upon seeing the Soundless Divine Thunder, instantly terrified almost to the point of losing their courage and only thinking of fleeing for their lives.

"Don't even think about snatching someone's Flying Sword; you might get carried off by a Golden Light Giant Hand from Yan Yingmu if you run too slowly..."

For one, Yan Yingmu was indeed formidable.

And for another, Jiang Xuejun had a fierce reputation!

In fact, they had never seen Yan Yingmu themselves; they had only heard of her two most famous trademarks, a Golden Light Giant Hand and the Soundless Divine Thunder, but had never witnessed them.

But they had seen Jiang Xuejun kill, and it was merciless— a flash of golden light and heads would roll, never once sparing a life due to a soft heart!

Fei Long thrived on self-confidence, thinking she could withstand a few exchanges with Jiang Xuejun, which was something Pu Miaomiao would never dare.

The two flew away on their swords, with Wu Xing desperately following behind.

In no time, they were thousands of miles away. Wu Xing called out loudly, "What on earth happened, fellow Daoists? Did some powerful demon emerge?"

He only saw Pu Miaomiao's Golden Light Dharma Wheel suddenly turn to ash, the golden light exploding in all directions without a sound, and still had no clue what had occurred.

"Did Daoist Pu mention Soundless Divine Thunder? Could it be the unique Thunder Skill from Miao Zhen Temple?"

He wanted to ask if Pu Miaomiao had learned that kind of Thunder Skill, but judging by the situation, it seemed unlikely; could it be that Yan Yingmu had come?

Fei Long looked at him with disdain, wondering to herself how such a fool survived amid the dense presence of good and evil masters in the twelve peaks of Wushan Mountain...

"That brat... that young man shattered my mountain treasure, the Three-Seven Demon Cloud Wheel, with the Soundless Divine Thunder! I must not have seen incorrectly; that was the Soundless Divine Thunder from Miao Zhen Temple!" Pu Miaomiao said, still shaken.

Fei Long nodded, "You saw correctly; that was the Yingmu Divine Thunder."

"That was close!" Pu Miaomiao exclaimed, feeling lucky. "How could these two kids strut around with such exquisite Immortal Swords openly, their techniques none other than those of the authentic Mysterious Sect. It would make sense if they were apprentices from Miao Zhen Temple! Wu Daoist, you tried to snatch their Flying Sword without even inquiring about their lineage?"

Wu Xing was still confused and said innocently, "I've heard of that senior from Miao Zhen Temple, but something doesn't add up. A few years back, I took on a disciple called Little Chan, and she knows all there is to know about that child; he's the son of the Soul Chaser Ni Lanxin."

Fei Long scoffed coldly, "Ah, so it's from that cheap wretch Ni Lanxin!"

"Exactly!" said Wu Xing, "The sword must have been picked up somewhere by the youngster, which is why I came to seize it and avenge my disciple's death."

"That young one is Ni Lanxin's child," said Pu Miaomiao, "but what about the older one?"

At this, Wu Xing found himself at a loss for words, "I don't know about that, but from my divination, based on the Gua Xiang, his master should be someone with no reputation."

Fei Long spoke coldly, "If they are disciples of Miao Zhen Temple, how could their master possibly be a nobody? Both Jiang Xuejun and Tian Long, the old lady, were very well known. It's just your ignorance!"

No sooner had she finished speaking than Pu Miaomiao quickly performed a divination in her heart, "Their master is not Yan Yingmu, and from my calculations, also a nobody..."

"How is this possible!" Fei Long did her own calculation and, to her surprise, got the same result.

The disciples' master was not a female immortal but a male who didn't seem human. Analyzing the divinations suggested he might be some kind of dragon or snake demon.

The three calmed down and put their skills to use, recalculating several times, yet the results showed the same!

The trio's eyes lit up with renewed hope, "If it's just some demon, we can handle that!"

Pu Miaomiao guessed, "Maybe it's a demon that had some fortuitous encounter and cultivated a human form while taking two youngsters as disciples. It likely discovered an ancient immortal's cave and acquired authentic Mysterious Sect manuals and a pair of Immortal Swords. That Soundless Divine Thunder must have also been obtained unintentionally, and surely there can't be many."

Fei Long's ambition surged, "I am known as Fei Long, and I've raised a python and a tiger in my cave for several hundred years, but sadly they've only rudimentarily grasped human nature. If I could capture this creature and take it back to guard the mountain gate and cave, that would indeed be delightful!"

They felt they were in control again but remained wary of the Soundless Divine Thunder.

"If they're not strong in mana, what if they launch another Soundless Divine Thunder?" Pu Miaomiao remembered her broken treasure of the cave with great distress.

"If it's just the Thunder Pearl, then it's manageable. But we must confirm how they obtained that Thunder Pearl."

After a brief discussion, Fei Long handed Wu Xing a bowl, taught him how to use it, and sent him to conduct a reconnaissance.

Wu Xing had never seen Yan Ying, never seen Jiang Xuejun, and only had secondhand knowledge of Miao Zhen Temple's exploits, unable to imagine their potency. He believed Yan Yingmu, formidable as she was, couldn't be much different than the Ying Yang Elder of Wushan Mountain's Goddess Peak. As her disciple, Jiang Xuejun should be somewhat inferior to the Ying Yang Elder's junior, the True Master of Fragrant Mist, Feng Wu.

Feng Wu and he both cultivated in the Cow Liver Gorge of Wushan. His retreat was Heart Piercing Cave, while Feng Wu's was Iron Skin Cave. They interacted occasionally, and having seen Feng Wu take action, he felt that although he wasn't a match, he wasn't wholly without a fighting chance.

So, he felt that Fei Long and Pu Miaomiao were overly cautious and looked down on them inwardly: If I had centuries of Dao experience like you, I wouldn't be so afraid!

If Yan Yingmu was indeed formidable, couldn't the three of us combine our strength to overcome her?

With this self-assuredness, he was somewhat dissatisfied and took the bowl without fear to return to the scene.

Hovering in the sky, he looked down and questioned Qiu Yuan and Shi Zhu, "Tell me, what is your relationship with Yan Yingmu from Miao Zhen Temple?"

Qiu Yuan had heard of Yan Yingmu; Lin Han had explained the origin of the Thunder Pearl clearly when giving it to him, warning him not to use it against people from Miao Zhen Temple, or they might take it back and retaliate.

However, Yan Yingmu really had no connection with them, and Qiu Yuan told the truth.

Wu Xing then asked, "Then where did that Soundless Divine Thunder you used earlier come from?"

"My senior brother gave it to me."

So that was it! Wu Xing laughed to himself, realizing the Fei Long Priestess and the Golden Thread Ancestor were alarmed over nothing. He continued to probe, "And where did your senior brother get it from? How many do you have left in your possession?"

Qiu Yuan curled his lip, raised his head, and said loudly, "My senior brother got it from my master, and my master snatched it from Yan Yingmu. I only had one to begin with, and I've just used it up; are you happy now? Putting on airs, just look at you cowards! Pah! If you want to fight, then let's fight! Who's afraid of you? Why don't you call those two demonesses over as well, why hide so far away?"

Enraged, Wu Xing shot back, "You little brat, too ignorant to appreciate favors. It seems like you've been spoiled rotten by the adults in your home. Today, you'll learn what it means to be tough!"

Having said that, he flipped the Fei Long Priestess's bowl upside down in the air, unleashing a cascade of green poisonous mist, pouring down like a waterfall.

The virulent green miasma scattered in all directions, when it hit the ground, it surged like floodwater, rushing over according to the will of the one casting the spell.

Qiu Yuan was previously bound by the golden thread, with both his wrists and ankles lacerated to the bone, a significant disadvantage which had led him to release the Soundless Divine Thunder in fury.

After they had run off, Qiu Yuan was applying medicine while discussing with Shi Zhu. They reviewed the process of the earlier duel and considered that since they hadn't injured their opponents, merely scared them off, they might return to fight again.

Qiu Yuan brought out a Formation Plate, crafted from an old peach tree from the mountains following Shi Feiyang's instructions. He placed it on the grass, performed hand seals and Sword Control, chanted a mantra to clear his mind, and finally discerned a Gua Xiang.

The Gua Xiang was simple: the opponents would soon return after leaving.

Thus the two of them discussed how they would respond if those three people came back.

"The master said he is going to retreat to refine spells for the next few days. As it happens, we're facing a tribulation, and he doesn't have time to concern himself with us; we have to get through it on our own."

Qiu Yuan shared their plan with Shi Zhu, who bravely puffed up his chest, "Those three Demon Humans are formidable, but our swords are also powerful, and they can cut through gold threads..."

The two youngsters were still strategizing when Wu Xing returned.

Seeing the poison mist cascading down from a height of over a dozen yards like a waterfall, Qiu Yuan could tell the miasma was toxic.

What was more horrifying were the numerous caterpillars within; each about a foot long, colorful, with their bodies covered in multicolored hairs that forked at the end, with fire on each fork. The flames in hues of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet twirled and soared, emerging from within the poison mist.

Qiu Yuan snorted coldly, took out another Thunder Pearl, formed a seal with his left hand and flicked it with his right, uttering lightly, "Swift!"

The Thunder Pearl released from his hand turned into a tiny green spark and shot straight into the midst of the poisonous mist, followed by an extremely sharp explosion, bursting forth with a bang.

Wu Xing, who was in the sky, felt as if countless tiny steel needles were pricking and stabbing the insides of his ears all at once. On trying to listen carefully, he found that he couldn't hear anything at all.

The green flames that erupted from the Thunder Pearl were distinct from the Poison Mist, but in the blink of an eye, the waterfall-like Poison Mist was eradicated, leaving a huge hole in its center where billions of hairy worms also turned to ash!

A chilling light assaulted his face, piercing to the marrow. Wu Xing felt as though all his internal organs had frozen. He attempted to flee in terror, but Shi Zhu had already launched his Flying Sword simultaneously with Qiu Yuan's release of the Thunder Pearl.

Nine dragon-shaped beams of golden light broke through the Poison Mist, cutting off Wu Xing's escape path. If he had his hearing and hadn't been overwhelmed by the chilling light, which had allowed the evil to seep into his organs, he might have dodged in time. But now, his reaction was much slower, and by the time he saw the sword light, it was already upon him. All he saw was a flash of golden light before his body was torn into pieces.

The mutilated corpse, along with the bowl, fell from the sky.

Just as it struck the ground, the bowl suddenly flashed with golden light, summoned by its master, and flew off the ground.

Qiu Yuan and Shi Zhu used Spells and Flying Swords to clean up the residual Poison Mist and hairy worms.

Fei Long, the nun, reclaimed her bowl and, along with the frightened Pu Miaomiao, who had flown a good distance away before stopping, discussed the situation.

"If I'm not mistaken, that kid just used the Jiule Yin Thunder, right?"

Jiule Yin Thunder was also unique in the world, even more famous than the Soundless Divine Thunder, particularly among the unorthodox sects because of its great power and its ability to help people through tribulations and withstand Nine Heavens Thunder Fire.

Jiulei God was a big shot in the Demon Cult, and Yan Yingmu was a giant in the Mysterious Sect. These two figures were like fire and water, incompatible with each other. How could their signature Thunder Pearls, which were passed down directly, appear in the hands of a junior?

The two were baffled.

Pu Miaomiao speculated, "That kid said the Soundless Divine Thunder was stolen by their master from Yan Yingmu. Could it be that the Jiulie Lightning was also taken by his master from Jiulei God?"

"That kid is bragging!" scoffed Fei Long nun. "How vast are Yingmu's Divine Skills? Who in the world could steal her signature Divine Thunder? And not just her, even if Jiulei God is slightly inferior, he has a thousand years of Dao Level, and Jiule Yin Thunder refined with the Primordial Spirit can be launched at a thought. Who else could snatch his Jiule Divine Thunder?"

Pu Miaomiao had limited experience; the most powerful expert she had encountered was the Red-haired Ancestor. As for what Yan Yingmu and Jiulei God were like, she could only guess.

Fear crept into her heart, "Should we forget about it then? Let's pretend we didn't come across this matter. After all, Wu Xing and his disciples are already dead, Tang Caizhen too. Let's go back to Lu Mountain, weren't you asking for my help to refine that Cold Spring Waterfall?"

"Mmm, that's also a good idea; it's the safest course of action," agreed Fei Long, the nun, with a nod.

As they were about to leave, Fei Long, the nun, suddenly shuddered, grinding her teeth in anger, "No! Those two puppies destroyed my centuries' collection of fierce fire hairy worms and nearly damaged my Ruyi Bowl. Today I must capture them and bring them back to the Iron Skin Cave, flay and bone them, to vent the anger in my heart!"

Pu Miaomiao didn't understand why she changed her mind. Seeing the flashes of red in her eyes, which seemed to indicate the onset of 'Deviation', she quickly asked, "Nun, why did you suddenly change your mind? Weren't we going back? What's wrong with you? Could it be that rage has overcome you, leading to 'Deviation'?"

Fei Long, the nun, sneered, "How could I succumb to 'Deviation'? I'm feeling very well! Just a moment ago, I couldn't think of a way to counter their Thunder Pearls and had to temporarily back down. Now, I've thought of a way to deal with their Thunder Pearls! This time, victory is certain!"
