Xie Shan worried about his two daughters day and night, especially Xie Lin, who was increasingly trapped in her own illusion realm.
Over the years, Xie Shan had tried everything he could think of, but he couldn't pull his daughter out.
In terms of Buddhist philosophy, he had long lost his meditative state, gradually and subtly controlled by the Red Flower Princess, who secretly subdued his primordial spirit. Without external assistance, he would only sink deeper and be unable to extricate himself.
These past years, Xie Shan increasingly felt his mind was in turmoil, as if his heart was burning with fire. It was difficult to enter a meditative state during his quiet cultivation, and even if he managed to, it would be shallow.
Initially, entering Xie Lin's illusion realm was easy; with just a thought, he could enter. Starting this year, he had to bathe, change clothes, purify his mind by chanting Buddha's name, and meditate for three days to enter. Now, it takes seven days, and coming out is increasingly difficult…
He knew his elder daughter Xie Ying also had issues, though he couldn't yet decipher exactly what. Fortunately, Xie Ying's problem wasn't as severe as Xie Lin's. The elder daughter was always obedient, sensible, and stable, typically adept at managing her own problems.
He planned to first extract Xie Lin, then find a way to completely solve Xie Ying's problem.
About Xie Ying absorbing his essence energy, initially it was barely noticeable, extremely slight and shallow, but later it began to increase, much like a frog being boiled in warm water.
In Xie Shan's perception, at first it was like incubating an egg, utilizing his body warmth and essence energy to protect the little bird, but gradually, it felt like Xie Ying's condition worsened, hinting at using his spiritual energy to sustain her life.
At this moment, he was deeply restrained, only worried about the elder daughter's condition worsening, eager to extract the younger daughter quickly to focus on helping the elder, yet the more anxious he became, the less effective his efforts were…
If Master You Tan didn't arrive soon, within a year, Xie Shan would exhaust his essence energy and die!
You Tan Master inquired why, after several years of absence, things had reached such a dire situation.
Xie Shan, looking sorrowful as if ravaged by tempest and frost, recounted the time Xin Ru Nun returned the two children, along with the series of events following Fen Tuo Master's arrival.
You Tan Master was shocked after hearing the story. She had heard from Fen Tuo Master that Xin Ru Nun was peculiar, but couldn't deduce much since Xin Ru Nun's mana was now even more profound than theirs. Recently, she heard Xin Ru Nun intended to vow to save all beings in this world, leaving her speechless.
Xin Ru Nun's reasoning was quite sufficient: "In terms of position, modestly speaking, I'm at least a Round Teaching First Living Bodhisattva, or not just a First Stage Bodhisattva. In terms of mana, I'm worthy of the title 'Mahas,' a Great Bodhisattva; I can fully manifest as a Buddha in a 'No Buddha World.'
It's akin to being born into a world devoid of Buddha, then achieving supreme enlightenment and righteous consciousness, just like Shakyamuni in ancient times, and then preaching Buddhist law in this No Buddha World.
This world is about to enter the Dharma Decline Era, followed by the Dharma Destruction Era.
Since the Dharma Image Era, there has been no Buddha, and in the Dharma Destruction Era, there won't even be Buddhist law; the word 'Buddha' won't be heard by any sentient being.
If I manifest as a Buddha at this time, wouldn't it be a logical follow-through?
She had a self-consistent theory, though Fen Tuo Master and You Tan Master found it problematic. However, 'For Buddhism to prosper, monks must praise each other.' In any industry, if practitioners attack and slander one another, outsiders will see it as a complete mess and refuse to enter it, eventually leading to the industry's downfall.
Thus, in Buddhism, each sect and faction might believe their techniques are supreme, but they don't undermine each other. Internally, to strengthen their disciples' confidence, they naturally praise their own methods as the best, while externally saying it depends on destiny, compatibility, and inherent nature; what suits your essence and destiny is the best method for you.
Xin Ru Nun was very senior, comparable to the other two, a model of turning from unorthodox to orthodox, and her mana was boundless and widely renowned. Hence, whatever she intended to do, other Buddhist masters could only say they wouldn't support her, but as long as she didn't overstep, they wouldn't directly oppose her either.
Fen Tuo Master visited twice to retrieve the Conch Leaf Talisman and the Seven Treasures Golden Banner, but Xin Ru Nun avoided meeting, and though there were some tactical exchanges remotely, Fen Tuo Master was unsuccessful.
Knowing they couldn't be retrieved, she did her utmost to give Xin Ru Nun three warnings, but ultimately had to give up.
You Tan Master, guided by Shi Feiyang's Spirit Talisman, knew the Red Flower Princess was within Xie Ying, and subtly suggested to Xie Shan to call Xie Ying out: "Let me examine her to see what other ailments she might have. If there's indeed any problem, I will certainly help with all my power."
Xie Shan was delighted: "With the Master's intervention, that would truly be wonderful!"
He urged Xie Ying to come out remotely. Xie Ying, aware that You Tan Master had arrived, felt like a demon encountering its nemesis. She guessed that the old nun came with ill intentions, and she remained silent in the inner room until Xie Shan pressed on urgently before responding: "Father, I am in closed-door cultivation and have made some progress. Your call almost disrupted my meditative state."
Xie Shan urged her to come out: "You Tan Master's Buddha law is profound, a hundred times surpassing mine, surely she can heal you."
Xie Ying kept making excuses, refusing to come out, and Xie Shan could only helplessly say to Master You Tan, "This child seems mentally fine these days; it seems we have to disappoint your kindness, Senior Sister."
"No worries! No worries!" Master You Tan grew more convinced of what Shi Feiyang had mentioned in the Spirit Talisman. She formed a seal with her hands in front of her chest, chanting a Buddhist incantation, and suddenly a burst of golden Buddha Light shot forth from her palm. It was precisely her renowned masterpiece, the Vajra Prajnaparamita Separation and Union Divine Light. Over the years, as her mana deepened and she practiced tirelessly, this divine light had become increasingly formidable.
A pillar of golden light pierced through five walls in succession, reaching right in front of Xie Ying.
Xie Ying was shocked; if she got caught in this divine light, escape would be impossible. She knew that Master You Tan had come specifically for her, realizing that further concealment and lurking were impossible, so she steeled her heart and shot ten Blood Shadow Divine Lights from between her hands to meet the Buddha Light head-on!
Upon seeing this, Xie Shan was even more shocked: "Ying'er, how... how did you master the Blood Shadow Divine Light of the Demon Cult..."
Xie Ying told him that she was captured in the Illusion Realm and taken to Iron City Mountain, where she endured all sorts of tortures, passing through multiple hells, and finally capitulated in desperation, becoming the adopted daughter of the Iron City Mountain Demon and learning the Demon Path Great Technique.
At that time, she cried heartbrokenly, saying she regretted not having enough Buddhist meditative wisdom in the past to withstand the old demon's torture.
Xie Shan then held her in his arms, comforting her for a long time.
Any signs of the Demon Path that occasionally slipped through later were all excused in this way. Xie Shan lacked meditative insight, and his primordial spirit was secretly influenced by her, preventing him from waking up to the truth.
Until now, he saw his daughter straightforwardly releasing the Blood Shadow Divine Light, and thought she had mastered it in the Illusion Realm. Memories of his daughter suffering in the hell of Iron City Mountain as she had described flooded his mind, causing him intense sorrow...
Little did he know, his daughter Xie Ying had long died, leaving only her physical body. Her primordial spirit had already been replaced by the daughter of the Iron City Mountain Demon, the Red Flower Princess!
The Red Flower Princess was once entrusted to Li Ning by Bai Mei Zen Master and taken to the ten-thousand mountains of the Southern Border.
At that time, she was sealed within the Zun Sheng relic, suppressed by Master Zun Sheng's Buddhist Law. She couldn't escape, nor could she exert any divine power or influence the minds of those outside.
However, she could converse with Li Ning and constantly harassed him.
Li Ning made a great vow, developing immense perseverance, taking her on a spiritual practice journey through the mountains with great determination.
While conversing with the Red Flower Princess, he solely responded with Buddhist law, and no matter what she said or did, Li Ning could use Buddhism to counteract it, attempting to dissolve her wrath and demon thoughts in return.
According to Bai Mei Zen Master, if this continued for thirty more years, it could transform into harmony. By then, the Dharma Decline Era would have begun, and various powers would start to weaken, including the Red Flower Princess's mana and demon nature, which would continuously diminish. By then, even if she emerged, she wouldn't pose much danger.
However, Xin Ru Nun was determined to turn this world into a Buddha Country Pure Land, calculating that only Shi Feiyang was her true adversary and the greatest obstacle to achieving the Buddha Country!
Thus, she began to support the Demon Cult.
Back then, to divert attention, Shi Feiyang released Deng Yin, creating Chi You and many subsequent events.
This time, Xin Ru Nun followed the same pattern, secretly encouraging the Stone God Princess to eject Deng Yin from the Lingjiao Immortal Mansion and helped him reclaim the position of Blood God!
Supporting the Demon Cult while strengthening herself was mutually beneficial and not contradictory at all.
Xin Ru Nun took Zhu Youmu under her wing, planning to manifest as a Buddha, with Zhu Youmu as her foremost disciple and the future head of the Ten Great Arhats!
Then, she instructed Zhu Youmu to find Li Ning.
With the joint will power and Buddhist law blessings of Bai Mei Zen Master and the Zun Sheng relic, as long as Li Ning avoided using spells and cultivated Buddhist law in the Southern Border as an ordinary man, even Xin Ru Nun couldn't locate him, let alone Zhu Youmu.
Nonetheless, Xin Ru Nun had her ways. She calculated that the Yin Yang Elder could find Li Ning, and set a trap with Zhu Youmu.
Zhu Youmu appeared to subdue demons, intimidating and subduing external paths, his reputation infamous alongside Jiang Xuejun. Yin Yang Elder, knowing this, was driven away by Zhu Youmu in panic. Though a sect leader-level figure, the mana gap was so vast that he couldn't even flee when encountering Zhu Youmu.
Zhu Youmu captured the Yin Yang Elder, intending to kill him. Just then, Xin Ru Nun unexpectedly intervened to save him, though she didn't reveal herself, only telling him, "In this world, only Zhu Youmu's junior brother Li Ning can save you! Hurry and find him! If you find him within three days, you might survive; if not, you will surely become dust under the Vajra Giant Spirit God Palm!"
