(The hell is going on here.) – thought Thauma as it observed the fight.

"Common! Is this what you got?! You training dolls?!" – shouted Elizabeth as she swung around her short spears. Countering both crossbow bolts and ballista bolts that flew her way, making the smaller shots just get knocked away while the bigger shots were just smashed away.

"Got another one!" – shouted the man as he appeared from the shadows and disarmed another ballista golem, before then disappearing right before the golems could attack the man.

"…"

(These two…. They are playing with my golems?!) – thought worried Thauma as it observed its golems being completely helpless against the duo of adventurers.

(Not only that, it seems enemy is closing up the distance way too easily…. This is nothing like the last time.)

(I could clearly tell that they were panicking, that they were scared and surprised…. But now? They are fighting far more organized.)

(….)

(Is that what she meant?)

(Ariava told me that when it comes to the organized forces such as kingdoms, their forces are usually trained to fight together.)

(But on the other hand, the adventurers are often focuses on adaptability since they take all form of quest.)

(Hm…. This cooperation of the knights and soldiers is far less annoying than these people adaptivity.)

(No… This doesn't explain it completely.)

(I see…. Back then, the weird difficulties that my golems were having back then…. It was their doing, wasn't it?)

(They are B-ranks, aren't they?)

"COMMON! FURTER YOU BASTARDS! THESE DOLLS MUST SOONER OR LATER RUN OUT OF AMUNITION!" – shouted Adam as the frontliners pushed forward as once fearful barrage of shots was now nothing to the adventurers.

"…"

"Tch."

"?!"

"Wait! What the fuck are you doing?!" – shouted Adam as the adventurer Markus quickly leaped above the frontliners.

"I CAN DEAL WITH THOSE BASTARDS ON MY OWN! DON'T FALLOW ME IF YOU TO COMPLAIN!" – shouted young man as he flew in the air, catching attention of the golems.

The golems aimed with their crossbow at the young man and fired a volley from below…. But right as the bolts were about to hit the young man, a gust of powerful wind enveloped the man and knocked away the bolts.

"Piss off. Small flies." – said the young man as he landed on the ground and was instantly surrounded by the golems.

The young man swung around his sword a devastating wave of wind that slashed and knocked away the golems.

Afterwords, the man quickly rushed at one of the golem knights, which in turn caused both sides to swing their swords at each other…. However, the golem weapon was easily knocked away by the man, before then the young man put his hand on the golem torso.

"[Wind Burst]." – the young man unleashed a blast of wind at point blank range, which straight sent the knight golem flying into the nearby and making the entire group fall down to the ground.

(Annoying. These knight ones are wearing some proper armor…. Still, I should be able to kill them easily if I put some wind en-)

"!"

(There!) – the man noticed the ballista golem nearby and instantly changed up his target, running right through the golems as they tried attacking the young man, but failing as he easily dodged all of their attacks while finally reaching the ballista golem's location.

However, right as the young man was about to try and unleash his attack, the tank golem made its appearance and blocked off the man's path.

"Tch."

"More annoyance!" – said the man as he covered his sword in wind and smashed his blade against the two thick shields that formed a wall.

"!"

(The hell?) – thought the young man as he realized that the golem defense was still in place.

(Well, I guess they weren't kidding about that guy being able to take a hit….)

(But I can still blow the fucker away!)

[Wind Weapon Magic Art: Tempest Stab]

The young man aimed straight between where two shields met with his sword tip and upon contact unleashed a burst of wind that instantly opened up the tank golem's defense.

(Ha! It maybe be a tank! But he can still-)

However, right as the man was starting to get cocky, he instantly spotted the ballista golem right behind the tank golem, aiming straight at the man.

But just in time as the golem was about to attack, B-rank adventurer Mawa leaped out of the shadow and trashed completely the enemy weapon, disarming the golem.

"STOP RUSHING IN YOU IDIOT! YOU MAYBE STRONG BUT IF THAT THING HITS YOU DIRECTLY YOU ARE GOOD AS DEAD!" – shouted pissed off Mawa as he was now forced to fight with the golem, since he rushed in way too early to help out the man.

"…"

"Tch!"

"Nobody fucking asked you!" – said the young man as he instantly gotten angry at the man…. And before he could even try to shout at the man, the tank golem tried attacking the young man.

"…"

"Hey…."

"Fuck off." – however, the young man easily blocked and endured the strike.

"…."

(Hm…. This is truly not going as planned on my end.) – thought Thauma as it observed the adventurers finally reaching the golems and starting the mass scale battle.

(I've thought if I focus on stalling the enemy for as long as possible while having range golems wear down the enemy, I would managed to exhaust or take down some people.)

(But I guess I was too hopeful.)

(As long as the enemy focuses on protection one direction, then their defenses will be mostly impenetrable.)

(That girl…. She is annoying. She can easily deal with projectiles that are coming her way… But if the adventurers would end up getting attacked from all directions, there would be no way for her to protect everybody.)

(Hm… If they haven't taken down the scout golem that was near the main army, I would had found out about her earlier.)

(There is also that person that can disappear and appear…. And that magic swordman that uses wind magic…...)

(There is no use guessing anymore.)

(My golems will be annihilated by the enemy.)

And it was just as Thauma suspected, the golems didn't stand the chance in the head on fight.

The adventurers didn't panicked or were caught off guard like last time, which gave a massive opening for the golems.

No.

This time they were ready.

They not only possess information about their enemy, but were also able to come up with counterstrategies beforehand, which in turn allowed them to take over the flow of the battle from get go.

It was clear as day that their second attempt was nothing alike their first attempt, with the adventurers no longer being hunted down, but instead them doing a complete opposite of the past as they were now the hunters in the current situation.

True, golems had numbers and they had some proper equipment, resulting in adventurers really not having easy time facing their numbers.

Some were injured, while some others were even forced to retreat temporarily after sustaining way too much damage.

But overall? Adventurers were dominating the fight.

To make matters worse, Thauma couldn't really command his golems and even if he did, he was sure that the adventurers would instantly catch up to his plan and counter it.

In short, Thauma knew that no matter what it did, it was a lost battle.

And after the battle raged on for hours…. The silence finally came.

All of the golems have been destroyed.

"….Everybody alive?" – asked Adam as the entire battlefield was filled to the brim with the remains of the golems.

"Alive….But tired…." – said adventurer leaning against the tree.

"Hey... No more…. Right?"

"…"

"Nope. We are not seeing anything." – said the mage who was using his [Mana Detection].

"I guess we have some room to breathe."

"Oh thank god." – said the tired adventurer as he fell down on the ground.

"Rest up! But don't let your guard down!" – shouted Adam.

"We may had destroyed a large number of enemy troops, but who knows?! Maybe this wasn't their entire army!"

"Keep watch while resting up!"

"….How are the loses?" – asked the thunder mage as he approached Adam.

"Well…. We have a lot of injured. The critical injured were sent back to the camp…. As for the dead… Few guys got unlucky, but overall?"

"I think we should do a solid retreat right back to the base and focus on recovery there."

"Huh!? Why?!" – shouted angry Markus as he and other 2 B-rank adventurers approached the muscular man.

(Oh god. Him again.) – thought already annoyed Adam.

"Well, think about it straight." – said Adam.

"We had destroyed large number of enemy troops."

"But we ended up suffering a lot of damage."

"Honestly, just simple rest won't do it."

"We need to conduct a proper recovery at the base."

"Once we do, we can go right back and deal with the dungeon at our full strength."

"Hm…. Yea…. Honestly, we should do that." – said Elizabeth as she approached Adam alongside Mawa.

"Honestly, we still don't know what the inside of the dungeon looks like."

"If it really had evolved multiple times, there is good chance it is no longer a base floor type dungeon, but maybe something else."

"It is also for the best if we check the entire forest beforehand." – said Mawa.

"We don't want to get ambushed from outside when we enter the forest."

"Then I guess there are no complains." – said Adam.

"LISTEN UP YOU FUCKER!"

"ENEMY FORCES HAS BEEN DEFEATED AND THERE WILL BE SOME PEACE FOR SOMETIME."

"WE WILL USE THIS AS OUR OPPENING TO QUICKLY RETREAT BACK TO THE CAMP AND FOCUS ON RECOVERY!"

"AFTERWORDS! WE ARE DOING A WHOLE SCAN OF THE FOREST!"

"AND DEPENDING ON WHENENVER OR NOT WE WILL SPOT ANOTHER GOLEM ARMY ROAMING THE FOREST, WE WILL INSTANTLY ASSULT THE GOLEM DUNGEON?!"

"YOU HEAR ME?!"

"NOW MOVE IT!"
