They followed Raito's instructions to the letter, hammering the weak points at the joints and waist, slamming again and again. Even when the stone didn't break, they didn't stop.
The Golem facing Daichi swung its massive arm to block, the impact sending him crashing onto a downed Golem. Blood trickled from his lips as the creature lumbered toward him.
Haruya, meanwhile, struggled to keep up with his own opponent. A powerful slam sent him sprawling, face-first into the ground. The child Golems were relentless.
Breathing heavily, fatigue already gnawing at their limbs, Daichi and Haruya prepared for another onslaught. Each Golem raised a fist, swinging down with lethal intent.
Raito's voice cut through the chaos, calm but commanding.
"Close your eyes. Feel your strength. When you open them, you will see protection."
A shimmering green shield enveloped Daichi and Haruya, warding off the crushing blows.
"You're strong," Raito continued, "but you're stronger than this. Get back on your feet. You are warriors, even if you don't believe it yet. This is your chance to grow. If you back down now, you choose death. But if you rise, you survive."
Tears welled in Daichi's eyes. He wiped them away, determination burning brighter than ever.
"Boss, thank you."
Haruya lifted his head slowly, gaze steady on Raito.
"Thank you, Master. Your words give me strength."
Raito watched silently as Daichi and Haruya stood, energy surging through them. The shield vanished, leaving them ready for the next strike.
The child Golems swung again. This time, Daichi didn't flinch. His body expanded, muscles swelling, legs powering like iron pillars. The force behind him grew, and he struck back with newfound strength, sending the Golem stumbling.
Haruya raised both hands, summoning flame. He hesitated at first, restraining his power, but the moment he unleashed it, fire roared around him, melting stone where it landed. Rocks cracked, fragments flying as his attack scorched the Golem's body.
Raito's lips curved into a small smile. "They've got potential. Both of them, they'll grow into real hunters. Their future is bright."
He stepped back, letting them continue, observing carefully as their strength blossomed under the pressure of battle.
Daichi roared and charged forward, slamming his enlarged fist into the child Golem's arm. The Golem reeled back, then threw a counterpunch. Daichi met it head‑on. Their fists collided mid‑air, stone against flesh, the shockwave cracking the ground beneath them.
The monster was taller and heavier, but Daichi's transformed body, bulging with power, kept him evenly matched. For a moment, it looked like a clash between equals.
On the other side, Haruya ignited flame around his fist and drove it into the Golem's arm, burning a chunk of stone away. The Golem staggered but didn't fall. It countered with a massive swing. Haruya ducked under it, flames flaring behind him, scorching the stone skin. Not enough to kill it, just enough to anger it.
Both hunters pushed forward at the same time.
And then everything stopped.
Daichi's muscles shrank, his body returning to normal. Haruya's flames flickered and vanished. Their vision swayed.
"What, my head?"
"It feels like the whole place is spinning."
The child Golems began to rotate, slowly at first, then faster and faster, the air twisting in a strange vortex.
Daichi collapsed to his knees.
"Wait, I can't stay awake."
He fell unconscious.
"Hey, Daichi!" Haruya called out, but his vision blurred. He saw the Golem approaching him, the other approaching Daichi, their massive fists rising.
"No, not yet, I can still—"
He fell forward, barely hanging onto consciousness.
The Golems stood above them, fists ready to crush their skulls.
And then everything froze.
The fists stopped mid‑air. Stone bodies locked in place. Not a single pebble moved.
Raito stood behind them, one hand slipped casually into his pocket, expression flat.
"That's enough."
His telekinesis held both Golems in absolute stillness. It was as if time itself had stopped for them.
He walked over to Daichi and knelt beside him.
"You can sleep. I'll handle the rest."
Then he moved to Haruya, who was barely conscious.
"Rest. You did well."
Haruya let out a faint breath.
"Okay, boss."
He finally passed out.
Raito stood again, looking at the immobilized Golems whose bodies still trembled under the pressure of his telekinesis.
"Now, what should I do with you two?"
He raised his hand slightly.
The Golems shot upward like cannonballs and crashed into the ceiling.
Then he slammed them down.
Up.
Down.
Again and again until their stone bodies fractured, cracked, then finally shattered into countless pieces under the relentless telekinetic force. The dungeon floor trembled as the last fragments fell.
Raito dusted his hands lightly and walked back to Daichi and Haruya.
He covered them with a protective magic shield, keeping them safe as they rested.
"They'll recover here," he said calmly.
Raito placed both hands in his pockets again and turned toward the stairs leading down.
"They held me back a little, but now I'm alone."
A faint, dangerous smile formed on his lips.
"Time to go all out."
Raito moved forward, stepping through the rock door into a tunnel bathed in dim light. The end of the tunnel glimmered with brilliance, but as he advanced, the light faded into pure darkness. Every step was measured, every movement calculated. He was fully aware of his surroundings.
At last, he reached the exit, where the light shone fully. And that's when he saw them.
Hundreds of massive, flying creatures stirred as they noticed him. They surged into the air, converging on his position. Without hesitation, Raito activated flight, lifting himself into the void above. The swarm surged forward, claws and stingers aimed at him.
A creature lunged from the front. Raito's fist shot forward in a single, fluid motion, impacting mid-air. The creature's body exploded instantly, vanishing into nothing.
There were plenty, at least over a thousand, each massive and threatening. But Raito moved with precision, dodging, weaving, ascending and descending mid-air, his flight keeping him always one step ahead.
