He lifted the dagger, its blade gleaming with a cold, unwavering light.
"This dagger even with the heat coming from your body, no matter how intense it is it won't melt. Even if someone threw this dagger into the sun which is impossible, but you get my point it still wouldn't melt. Do you know why?"
Raito smirked.
"Because it's unbreakable. Indestructible. And I'll tell you this once again"
He stepped forward, eyes locked onto the dragon.
"Try me. This dagger will pierce you.
Raito's eyes burned with determination.
The World Eater Dragon snarled, flames boiling off its skin as it stepped forward.
"I will dare you to say that to me, human," it growled. "You are going to die for what you just said. I will kill you. Even in my human form, nothing can pierce my skin. Nothing. My skin is thicker than steel, harder than magic. Do you understand that?"
The dragon's aura surged, black and red flames twisting together like a living storm. The dungeon floor melted beneath its feet. The heat alone was enough to burn through metal.
Then
Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!
In less than a second, the dragon threw 25 punches, each one fast enough to tear air apart. Every strike crashed into Raito, shattering bones, burning skin. But Raito didn't fall.
[System: Auto-Heal Activated]
Bones snapped back. Skin closed. Burn marks vanished.
Raito wiped the blood from his mouth and smiled.
The dragon's eyes widened. "You dare smile at me?"
Raito dodged the next punch, reacting perfectly to the dragon's speed.
"I can react to anything you throw at me," he said. "Try harder."
He summoned his dagger, black steel, indestructible, gleaming like the void.
The dragon laughed. "That toy won't pierce me. It will shatter the moment it touches my skin."
"Try me," Raito whispered.
The dragon swung again. Raito slipped past the blow like smoke, twisting, bending, moving faster than any human should. And then
Shhk!
Raito's dagger drove into the dragon's stomach.
The dragon froze.
Its pupils shrank.
Its aura flickered.
"How how are you piercing my skin?"
"That's impossible"
Raito stepped forward, pushing the blade deeper.
"Impossible? Let me show you the meaning of impossible."
The dragon roared, stumbling back, fury and confusion mixing on its face.
"This human is dangerous."
Raito tightened his grip, eyes glowing with purple energy.
"Today," Raito said, "your neck is mine."
"Wow you're actually getting cocky and forgetting your place," the World Eater Dragon growled, its voice shaking the dungeon walls. "In the past, humans knew their place. Some were capable of defeating dragons, but they were rare and they were never arrogant like you. You still have no idea of your limits."
Its black-and-red aura flared, flames licking the cavern ceiling. "I am a higher life form than humans. Humans are beneath me, and they worshipped me in the days of old. But you you don't even come from a lineage of warriors. And yet you pierced my skin. How dare you, you bastard! You're going to pay for this!"
The dragon's scales began to ripple violently, molten energy radiating from its body. "I could not manipulate your blood before but now, even a single drop outside your body should be enough."
Raito's eyes narrowed. Finally there's a chance. He focused his thoughts, activating Blood Manipulation. With precise control, the drop of blood outside the dragon's skin twisted into the shape of a sharp arrow. His mind guided it at impossible speed, piercing the dragon's chest.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The arrow struck again and again, blood splattering as each strike tore through the dragon's thick flesh.
[System Notification]: User has pierced a World Eater Dragon. Temporary indestructibility activated for 30 seconds.
Raito's control over the blood sharpened. He sent arrow after arrow flying, but the dragon raised a single finger, and a thin line of fire shot out. Ssshhk! The first blood arrow evaporated instantly. Raito's next arrow met the same fate as the dragon intensified its flames, scorching the droplets before he could manipulate them.
"Wow human, you continue to amaze me." the dragon bellowed, pride and fury in its voice. "Even if I refuse to take my dragon form I think it's time."
In a blinding surge, the dragon's body swelled, scales stretching and cracking as it roared. Its form expanded to over 300 feet tall, the heat melting parts of the dungeon floor. The tail lashed out like a colossal whip. Raito barely evaded, using his shield to absorb the impact, and the force slammed him into the wall.
He shot back into the air, blood pumping, eyes blazing. This this isn't going to be easy. He's over 350 feet now. Fighting him in this form every move could kill me.
The dungeon trembled, stones breaking and dust flying as Raito locked eyes with the towering dragon. He gritted his teeth, dagger in hand. "I don't care how big you are. I'll carve my way through you, dragon no matter what."
The dragon then looked toward the direction where Raito was, fire forming inside its throat. In the next instant, its wings snapped open
VROOOOM!!
A beam of fire shot out with terrifying speed, ripping through the air straight at Raito.
BOOOOM!!
Raito barely dodged. His body twisted on instinct alone.
What the hell?! That was almost as fast as the speed of light! What the hell?!
He turned his head just long enough to see the aftermath
the fire hadn't just blasted a hole into the dungeon.
It was still drilling downward deeper deeper deeper like it would never stop.
When he looked down, the ground beneath the impact point had already turned into molten lava.
The dragon opened its mouth again, charging another shot.
VROOOOM! VROOOOM!
Raito reacted instantly, leaping aside as another blast of red‑and‑black hellfire tore through where he had been standing a split second earlier.
Should I use my shield to block this? Raito thought.
A notification appeared instantly.
[WARNING]
Shield will not be able to stop that attack.
