Rita skimmed past the gods' comments, unsure whether they were gossiping or lecturing her. What truly caught her eye was the Shrine Quiz.
She claimed it immediately.
Shrine Quiz: After entering the shrine, a player may ask ten profession related questions and receive answers. Each player may enter once per day. A maximum of 10,000 players may enter per natural day.
A perfect tool for research players, and perfect for her own potion studies and gacha machine mechanics.
She planned to build a reward system so players who genuinely loved research could get real answers when they hit a wall.
She wasted no time. A miniature rotating projection of BS appeared before her. She remotely deployed the gorgeous shrine near a major legion's headquarters. The security there was reliable, and any researcher from anywhere could reach it using the transport arrays that now existed in all populated regions.
She reserved one fixed slot for herself, then set minimum requirements for the other 9,999 slots. Only players with advanced professional ranks could enter each day. And even if the slots were not all used, the system would keep them reserved.
She added one more feature. Whenever a player of advanced rank or higher entered the shrine, a two hundred meter tall projection of a dragon would sweep across its outer walls, roaring as it flew by.
Cafés had the nine colored deer. Hotels had the golden lion. The Shrine Quiz would have a dragon.
Everyone could compete in style.
Aside from the shrine, the thing that interested her next was the new title.
The title Unsolvable Problem came with a skill called After Taking the Throne.
Title Skill · After Taking the Throne
Leader, monarch, Adjudicator, god. They are not that different.
Designate a target. For the next duration, that target and all its kin will focus entirely on attacking you. If they come within ten thousand meters, that target cannot use any skills. Each use costs 100000 mana and lasts thirty minutes. Cooldown: two hours.
A very unusual battlefield skill, meant to draw the full aggression of an entire race.
After the title came the chests.
Six Overlord chests lined up in a row. Rita opened all of them at once.
Only one Divine Game remained. In that final match she not only had to take first place again, but also had to evolve her divine talent. But she still had no clue how to trigger the evolution.
For this last game, where was she supposed to find a moment described as when all eyes fall upon you and you stand alone in celebration?
The light faded from the chests, revealing the rewards.
Advanced Alchemy Course (30 star sea years)
Comprehensive Combat Course (30 star sea years)
Magic Element Application II (30 star sea years)
Wait for a Heavy Rain
Divine Card: My World
Health +20 percent
She set aside the three courses. She had not rested since the game ended. Tomorrow she would take time to study properly.
Wait for a Heavy Rain (Ancient)
Once taken from the chest, the longbow expanded to full size.
Its frame glowed bright blue, made entirely of starlight.
At key points along the bow, star like nodes shone intensely, connected by pale luminous lines.
The bowstring was woven from countless tiny stars.
Drawing it summoned an arrow of condensed Blue Star radiance.
The entire weapon looked like the constellation of Sagittarius brought to life.
Attached Skill · Flood of Stars
Aim at a region and draw. The fired arrow splits into tens of thousands of star arrows, dealing massive area damage. Damage scales with the player's Intelligence. Cost: 10000 mana. Cast time: 3.5 seconds. Cooldown: 30 seconds.
It had dual stat requirements that matched her current attributes perfectly. It was obviously tailored to whoever opened it. If she had opened it later, its stats might have scaled even better, but she didn't have that luxury anymore.
Rita
Level 40 (Tier 13 Abyss)
Health: 988650 / 988650
Mana: 964575 / 964575
Strength: 12649
Constitution: 12675
Intelligence: 12861
Agility: 13852
Luck: 10 (+99)
Charm: 10 (max)
Distributable Attribute Points: 2000
With Health +20 percent added, for the first time her max health exceeded her mana. Which meant each of the two game consoles could now host even more players.
She dumped all 2000 points into Agility, amplifying her strongest advantage while still keeping her overall balance intact.
Divine Card: My World
Doubles natural restoration speed of the player's world.
Rita immediately applied it to BS. She could heal players, but she could not heal the world itself. This was perfect timing.
She stared at the eighteen golden tree fruits. For a moment she considered setting aside two for Nivalis and B80, but this was not the time for sentimentality.
More top tier rewards. A mix of tier eighteen and nineteen quality.
Three Invasion Sequences
Two Gene Evolution XII
Four Skill Revision XI
Three Skill Revision XII
Three Item Revision XI
Three Talent Revision XII
After opening enough rewards, she had figured out the difference between chests and golden fruits. Both could produce courses, but chests could also grant Divine Cards and gear, while fruits were heavily skewed toward skill and item modification and could produce Invasion Sequences.
She placed the three new sequences into her gacha machine along with the one she had earlier.
She applied the two Gene Evolution XII immediately. Her base stats rose twice by five percent, and each level up would now grant an additional thirty attribute points.
Plus the previous four evolutions that had each added four upgrade points, doubled because she was a Divine Game player. Plus the ten extra points granted earlier by Gene Evolution XI. Plus the Adjudicator bonus…
All totaled, each level up now granted her ninety eight points.
Even in her old gaming days, using cheat engines, she would not have dared add points like this…
If she made it to level 91, she could add another 4998 points.
Her smile froze suddenly. The new BS members had all taken level drops. Did this mean some of their equipment no longer met requirements? Would they come after her to settle accounts later?
With silent prayer, she brought out her seven golden skill dice. It was time to upgrade Mystic Force. Strengthen. Strengthen again. Strengthen it no matter what.
