Chapter 142: Balthor and Kurma

Just when multiple assassins and mercenaries were bickering with each other to pass the time, a loud voice suddenly echoed through the entire chamber, interrupting everyone, followed by the figure of a giant carrying a massive axe on his shoulder.

Unlike all the humans in the venue, his height was twice that of everyone else, and his body was broad and muscular, covered in scars that hinted at countless battles...

...yet he wasn't draped in armor or anything like the others.

But his aura was so powerful that wherever he passed, people gave way, not wanting to get in his path.

Of course, although he looked like a giant, he was still clearly human; only his bloodline seemed unusual.

"Balthor, why don't you shut up? Acting like a little girl doesn't suit a Giant. Don't smear their name here."

However, there was someone who didn't fear his fearsome presence at all. Instead, he mocked him mercilessly, making him stop his laugh abruptly.

"As for why I am here, it is none of your business, is it?"

The figure spoke again, standing right at the center with his arms crossed, his prominent muscles and veins flexing, showing his impressive strength.

And unlike Balthor, he wore a simple robe with a long black scythe strapped to his back, shimmering mystically with golden energy.

Even though he looked like a normal human, his aura was as fearsome as the sun, and his realm was impressively at the Weaver rank, just like Balthor.

Just like the giant, he too stood all alone, as if everyone else in the chamber was afraid to come closer to him.

"Kurma, didn't I warn you before not to talk about my race? Are you challenging me?"

Well, except Balthor, of course, as his massive body, twice the height of Kurma, towered over him while his wild aura bombarded him fiercely, as if in anger.

As someone with giant blood in his veins, he took more pride in it than in his human origin. Hence, he didn't like anyone commenting on it jokingly, even though he was the one who started it in the first place.

"Heh… your race? Isn't it the same as mine? Why are you offended?"

But just because he showed his fangs didn't mean Kurma was afraid.

Even though his height was lower, his aura did not fall behind Balthor's, as they clashed together with equal power.

Two Weaver-rank powerhouses clashed their auras fiercely at the center of the auction house. You could imagine how massive the effect was.

Although it was just their auras, all the chairs and decorations around were already in tatters, while the people in the back stepped away, not wanting to get caught in the conflict.

"Kurma, you went too far."

Hearing him once again making a joke, Balthor was angered and was about to fight right here when suddenly a soft but powerful voice diverted everyone's attention.

"It is so lively here."

The voice was of Lucien, who was already standing on the stage meant to show items during the auction.

He had Helena in his arms, Clara behind, and Velmara perched lazily atop his shoulder.

"Guys, I appreciate your fighting spirit. But, aren't you showing it in the wrong place? I mean, I have a better place for you to show your talent. So… just be patient."

Lucien said again while looking at the giant and the black-robed man with a scythe on his back, who were still fully displaying their auras, even after hearing him.

"Heh… just on time."

Just when Lucien finished speaking and was about to sit on the chair at the center of the stage, he saw Balthor suddenly grinning at him.

"Boom!"

Then, to his surprise, he suddenly jumped directly from his place with extreme force, landing directly on the stage right in front, his giant body towering over him like a pillar.

"Haha… boy, you are finally here? I am so bored waiting for so long. Now, give me my weapon as you promised. Make it two while at it for wasting my time. Be fast."

He said in a loud voice, completely disregarding Lucien's presence and demanding what was promised as if he owned it.

He didn't seem to take Lucien seriously at all, grinning at him with a gaze as if he were looking at a toy. Until—

"Swoosh!"

"Bang!"

Until a fierce wind, so strong that he couldn't detect it directly, blasted his massive body all of a sudden.

The wind was silent yet so violent that Balthor couldn't even react before his massive figure was lifted into the air and smashed into the corner of the chamber with full force.

"Ugh! Fuck!"

The faster the giant came, the faster he was sent flying, destroying everything in his path in the process.

The scene looked quite comical, yet nobody could laugh, as the figure hurled across the room like a toy was a bona fide giant at the Weaver rank.

Most people in the audience didn't even see the attack or who initiated it before the incident happened.

Fortunately, the giant was thrown into a relatively remote corner, so no one was injured.

"Tch… so stupid. I take back my words. You are definitely a stupid Giant, alright."

Well, except Kurma, of course, who clearly saw the small owl atop Lucien's shoulder lightly waving its wings at Balthor before the incident happened.

Still, even after knowing that, his face turned solemn as he realized he might also have been unable to react to that attack.

Their early Weaver rank was clearly a joke in that owl's eyes.

"Tch… I don't like anyone blocking my vision, you see. Sorry for the inconvenience."

Lucien faintly said with a smile after everyone came to their senses and sat on the chair, placing Helena on his thighs.

He didn't seem one bit surprised by the giant's dramatic disappearance.

After all, that stupid guy was only at the early stage of Weaver Rank.

Even if there was no Velmara right now, he could kill that guy barehanded alone.

He had this confidence.

"Forget it. I don't care about such a small mistake. Instead, let's start our meeting now, shall we?"
