My Top-Tier Tycoon Wife

Chapter 236: The Girl Named Xia Chan

"Miss, are you alright?!" Luo Xiu hurriedly pushed open the car door and rushed to check on the girl's condition. The Descendant of Ghost Valley, who usually killed as easily as chopping vegetables, was now extremely tense, even flustered. This was the first time he had ever encountered such a screwed-up situation. An unfamiliar girl had been hit by his car and was now enduring unspeakable pain; his heart was filled with nothing but guilt and self-blame.

「Feiyun Villa.」

Inside a small villa, Su Shenyun had just finished her bath. Her long, fragrant hair was piled up, and she was wearing a sexy silk nightgown as she cuddled with her precious niece, Sun Li, on the living room sofa while watching a TV series. Ye Ningxue, on the other hand, was meditating in a corner as if no one else were present, quietly contemplating the Spiritual Energy of heaven and earth.

BOOM!

The door suddenly burst open. The three women instinctively turned their heads to see Luo Xiu rushing in.

Su Shenyun was instantly possessed by a dramatic flair. She flopped onto the sofa and said weakly, "Little Mule... come help me. I'm not going to make it."

Sun Li looked at her aunt with a bizarre expression, unable to restrain her urge to criticize. The gentle and dignified aunt I once knew has learned to be as mischievous as Luo Xiu!

However, Luo Xiu was in complete disarray and had no patience for her antics. After opening the door, he turned and went back out again. Not long after, he hurried back in, carrying a girl in his arms.

"Holy shit, what's going on?" Sun Li yelped, jumping up in shock. She ran over on her bare feet. "Xiu, did you go out bodysnatching?" As she spoke, she gave Luo Xiu a thumbs-up. "Not bad at all. Little black stockings and a leather skirt... she has quite the figure."

Luo Xiu was in no mood to joke with Sun Li. He said sternly, "Xiao Li, go to my room and get my first-aid kit."

Only then did Sun Li notice the blood all over the girl in his arms. Her face turned pale, and she covered her mouth with her hand. Without hesitation, she ran upstairs to get the kit.

Luo Xiu laid the girl on the sofa and glanced at Su Shenyun and Ye Ningxue. The two women understood the urgency and quickly came over to help.

"Cut her clothes off first. I need to set her broken bones."

「After some time had passed.」

Luo Xiu had finished stitching the girl's head wound and setting her broken bones. He stood up and stepped aside, wiping the sweat from his forehead with a long exhale. "Luckily, she's saved."

Su Shenyun frowned. "What exactly happened?"

Luo Xiu sighed, his expression a mask of frustration. "I hit her with my car on the way back tonight. I had no choice but to bring her home."

Su Shenyun gave him a strange look. "You're quite the sharpshooter, aren't you? Hitting a stunning beauty like her, of all people."

Sun Li looked at the gorgeous girl on the sofa and said with palpable relief, "Being hit by a Divine Doctor like you is truly a blessing in disguise for her. With injuries this severe, if it weren't for you, she would've been a goner on the spot."

Luo Xiu watched the girl on the sofa and said slowly, "Strictly speaking, she hit me. I was driving normally, not even speeding." He shook his head helplessly. "These biker girls... driving so fast late at night. It's a good thing she ran into me. Otherwise, just as Xiao Li said, she'd be off to meet King Yan by now."

He glanced at the multi-million-dollar watch on his wrist. "It's getting late. You all go get some rest. I'll take care of her here. As long as she makes it through the night, she should be out of danger."

「The next day.」

Luo Xiu was still asleep when pained moans from nearby woke him. He instinctively opened his eyes, flipped over, and sat up abruptly, finding that the girl was awake. She was likely groaning from the pain all over her body.

"Hello. My name is Luo Xiu. I'm the one who hit you last night."

The girl looked at him with a confused expression. It took her a moment to react before she quickly shrank into the corner of the sofa, seeming terrified of him. "Who... who are you? Where am I?"

Putting on a harmless smile, Luo Xiu patiently explained what had happened. A few minutes later, the girl's face was covered in tears as she sobbed loudly. Luo Xiu sat on the sofa nearby, his expression grim. He had just realized that he was in huge trouble. The girl had lost her memory, most likely due to the severe trauma to her head.

All she could remember was that her name was Xia Chan and that she was twenty-three years old. Beyond that, she knew nothing. Luo Xiu looked up to see Su Shenyun, who had come downstairs at some point and was now watching the spectacle with amusement. His face was a picture of misery. "Sister Su... you've got to help me."

Struggling to contain her laughter, Su Shenyun teased, "So now you remember to call me 'sister,' huh?"

"Please, help me look into her. I need to contact her family."

Without another word, Su Shenyun took out her phone, snapped a photo of Xia Chan, and sent the information to her colleagues at the Audit Bureau. After a moment, she gently shook her head. "I can't find anyone named Xia Chan; it's possible that it's a nickname. Plus, there are no matches in the facial recognition or fingerprint databases."

Hearing this, Luo Xiu heaved a long sigh and collapsed onto the sofa, suddenly feeling that life was pointless.

Just then, Sun Li came out of the kitchen. "So, what do we do now?"

Luo Xiu sat up and gave a wry smile. "What else can we do? We'll just have to keep her with us. We'll wait for her memory to come back before we decide anything."

He looked at Xia Chan, who was still crying. His heart softened. He picked up a bag of snacks from the coffee table and handed it to her. "How about I call you Xiaochan from now on? Xiaochan, please stop crying. I promise I'll cure you. And don't worry, I won't let it leave a scar on your head."

Xiaochan pouted, took the snacks from him, and suddenly broke into a tearful smile, grabbing his hand.

Seeing this, Sun Li stomped her foot. "Xiu, I want snacks too!" she said, her tone sour. "Besides, I'm the one who bought those snacks! If you don't believe me, ask Xiao Xue!"

Luo Xiu was speechless.

Before they knew it, evening fell and the city lights began to glow. After dinner, with nothing else to do, Luo Xiu used his wheelchair to take Xiaochan for a stroll around the yard. As they were chatting, his phone suddenly rang. He pulled it out and saw the caller was Zhang Yi.

"Brother Luo Xiu, what are you doing?"

"Just finished dinner. Taking a walk in the yard. You?"

"What a coincidence! I just finished eating too. I'm about to head to the airport."

Luo Xiu was quiet for a moment, then smiled. "Well, I wish you a safe trip. Make sure you learn the Taoist Arts well from your master. I look forward to seeing you become a big star one day."

"Mmm... Brother Luo Xiu, if I miss you, can I call you to chat?"

"Of course. Just don't call too often. Once you get started, you never stop."

"Hey! Are you saying I talk too much?"

Luo Xiu had no reply.

In the silent courtyard, Luo Xiu looked up at the passenger jet cutting through the night sky, a faint smile on his face. "Xiao Yi," he murmured, "I wish you a safe journey."

Time flowed like water, and three days passed in the blink of an eye. Thanks to the constant care from Luo Xiu, the Divine Doctor, Xiaochan's injuries healed very quickly. She was already able to leave the wheelchair and walk on her own. However, having lost her memory, Xiaochan acted like a clingy seven-year-old girl. If she couldn't see Luo Xiu for even a moment, she would start crying and throw a tantrum, becoming inconsolable. This left Luo Xiu at a complete loss, but there was nothing he could do about it. This is my own damn fault, after all.

On another bright and sunny morning, Luo Xiu had just gotten up when he received a call from Duan Chunfeng. The Duan Family was as efficient as ever; in just two or three days, Duan Chunfeng had already gathered all the medicinal herbs Luo Xiu required. Eager to resolve the matter, Luo Xiu left Xiaochan in Ye Ningxue's care and drove to the Duan Family's Grand Manor.

"Mister Luo, this is what we agreed upon," Duan Chunfeng said. The first thing he did upon seeing Luo Xiu was to hand over the island's transfer agreement and deed.

Luo Xiu flipped through the documents briefly, and seeing no issues, he signed his name. "My patient isn't cured yet, and the Duan Family Head is already giving me my payment?"

Duan Chunfeng smiled. "It's because I have faith in your abilities, Mister Luo. To be honest, I made some inquiries with Doctor He and Doctor Li of Sea City, and I understand you are exceptionally skilled." With a light wave of his hand, several bodyguards came in carrying a few large boxes. "Mister Luo, these boxes contain the medicinal herbs you requested."

Luo Xiu nodded slightly and walked over to inspect the boxes. After confirming everything was in order, he said to Duan Chunfeng, "The treatment process will be long and painful. When is the Family Head available to begin?"

"I'm available now," Duan Chunfeng replied without a moment's hesitation.

Ten minutes later, Duan Chunfeng lay completely naked on the large bed in the room. Luo Xiu inserted several acupuncture needles, using his Spiritual Power to immobilize him completely. He then stepped out of the room to prepare the medicine.

In the large courtyard just outside, Luo Xiu crouched in front of his Three-Legged Golden Crow Furnace. He began refining the herbs, simultaneously scrolling through short-form videos on his phone, watching internet celebrities dance in tiny shorts.

Suddenly, a fragrant scent wafted over to him. Su Hongli had walked up behind Luo Xiu with a mysterious air about her. She leaned in slightly, letting her long, fragrant hair cascade down, a few strands even falling into his collar. Her red lips parted, her voice a fragrant whisper. "Darling, what are you doing?"

Luo Xiu sensed the flirtatious undertone in her voice, and his heart sank. Here we go again, she's about to start flirting.

"Ah... Auntie Su. Good morning."

Su Hongli was silent.
