After a few more hours of us teasing Ethel and conversing with Athena, she finally left, and I got to the real point I wanted to make.
"Okay, now that she is gone… We have to do what we came here to do. We killed the one in LA, but now we need to go to DC, Florida, and Texas. Those are all the other stops… so say goodbye to your lovely girlfriend, and we're going to leave," I said coldly.
"Are you serious?!"
Just as I had expected, Ethel immediately refuted with a loud roar that practically shook the living room we were in.
"I just found the love of my life, and now I need to leave her?!"
"Look, there are many fish in the sea. You could find somebody like her anywhere-"
SLAP
I was cut off as Ethel slapped across the face, leaving everybody and myself in shock as we never expected her to do such a thing.
"Do you love her that much?" I asked as I rubbed my red cheek.
"Shut the hell up… I don't want to hear anything about love ever come out of your mouth again. You can have your toxic and weird-ass relationship with Mia, but don't ever think I'm like you two," Ethel said.
BAM
I punched her in the stomach, but she just about managed to catch it with her hand… though, her face was unphased.
"I said what I said,"
Ethel glared at me with unwavering eyes, even as I released the built-up bloodlust that I had been honing for years.
Before, it was a rusted dagger, but now it was a sharp spear that any general from the olden days would die to wield just once.
As I released more, I noticed she didn't even sweat, so I retracted my anger with my bloodlust and turned away.
"You don't know anything," I said, leaving the apartment that glared deep into Ethel's soul.
Mia was the sole reason I'm here today, and our relationship was never toxic… She's only seen the shell but has never seen the outside.
She's warm and caring, not just a sadistic bitch who loves to toy with her girlfriend…
She takes me on a date at least twice a week, and whenever I have nightmares, she's always there next to me.
"So don't… FUCKING TELL ME OUR RELATIONSHIP IS TOXIC!" I shouted, smashing a trash can into a piece of icy mess.
My foot released a wave of ice that enveloped the dented trash can eventually turned into snowy dust that melted in the hot LA sun.
"HUFF… HUFF… HUFF…"
"Why are you so sensitive about your relationship?" Somebody suddenly appeared behind me, and I noticed it was Charna who followed me outside.
"Go away,"
"No, I think you'll feel better if you get some things off your chest," She responded, and my heart irked from her words.
"I realized at least half of my happiness comes from you girls… and the other comes from Mia. If I… If she abandons me, I'll have nothing left. Even with you girls, I can't live without Mia. She's my world… so, I don't want her to leave me," I muttered, on the verge of tears.
Charna hugged me, and the warmth of her hug caused me to cry into her embrace…
"Is that how you felt?" Another voice suddenly spoke up, and when I turned around, I saw Mia standing right beside me.
"W-When-,"
Suddenly, the Charna who was hugging me disappeared, and I noticed it was Mia, who was silently crying small tears.
Her tears made me cry even more, to the point that I dropped to the ground.
"It's alright. You must be stressed from this situation… Once everything is over, we'll retire to the countryside and live a peaceful life, just with the two of us. We won't have to worry about dungeons, monsters, gods… Just the two of us,"
"Mmm… Hug me," I said.
"Of course," She responded before helping me stand up and then hugging me tightly, the warmth of her embrace so sweet you'd think my lips would pucker.
"I want a kiss,"
She gave me a kiss on the lips, and all the built-up anxiety, stress, and anger that had been built up inside of me began to slowly flow out.
"There are times when people reach their limit, and it seems you were close. You think you're so strong, but you're really not. You're doing all the mental work, but remember, we may not be as smart as you, but we can still help. Just tell us what you need, and we'll help," Mia whispered, and I began to cry ugly tears.
"Hick… Hick… Hick… Uehhhh,"
"It's alright. I won't ever leave you,"
…
(Mia POV)
"Hick… Hick… Hick… Uehhhh,"
"It's alright. I won't ever leave you," I whispered into my pitiful girlfriend's ear, while she continued to break down in my arms.
Seeing her like this made me so mad at our situation that I just wanted to burn it all away and wish we had a normal life.
And as I pulled back from our hug after giving her another peck on the lips, I saw a sudden glimpse of something.
It was most likely due to one of my passive skills, but I caught glimpse of a little girl with whitish-blond hair crying over the gravestones of her dead parents.
So, I hugged her, and as she looked up at me, she gave me a warm smile as she slowly began to fade away.
[Passive Skill: Future Past has been deactivated]
Falling in love with me might've been the worst and best thing to happen to her.
Best because she can finally overcome her parent's death but worst because her abandonment issues will continue to persevere.
She might've not noticed it, but she loves the other girls almost just as much as me.
"Now, let's go back and talk things out with Ethel. Also, tell us if you ever need anything as you're always taking the brunt of the stress," I said and she just silently nodded while continuing to ball her eyes out.
