Then they were torn to parts.
After repeating this process exactly twelve times in just one minute, we arrived at the shadows of the massive fountain which marked the very center of Texas.
I don't know when this was made, but judging by the quality, it seemed fairly new.
'Let's begin,'
It is a quick and short process that wouldn't drag anything on.
We all immediately noticed dozens of strings made from mana, creating a large web that seemingly sucked the power out of this tourist spot.
We weren't feeling any of its effects, but the people below definitely looked more tired than the average person… which was obviously due to the effect of this massive web.
It was similar to the godly woman we saw before, yet not at all.
All of a sudden, a woman with six spider legs protruding from her back appeared at the top of a building perfectly perpendicular to where we were.
But, one thing was strange… so strange in fact that most of us almost sighed…
'So weak,' We all collectively muttered through the hivemind.
The monster was growing her power by sucking up the strength of all the people passing under her web, and the growth may be slow, but after a few centuries, she might actually become a threat.
As most of us lost our drive to kill the woman trying to find us who were disrupting her magical web, Charna decided to just finish her off… well, only after bringing her over to us and torturing her, trying to extract any possible information.
"I seriously don't know!" The woman cried out, tears flowing from her face.
"You don't know who sent you?! BULLSHIT!" Charna shouted before slicing off another one of her spider legs, causing her to scream in agony.
Mia was covering us with an illusion, so nobody was able to smell, hear, see, or sense anything that was happening to the poor monster below us.
"She's quite cute," Ethel muttered as she poked the woman's soft cheek.
I didn't think she was that cute, though, as she had six eyes and four arms which seemed kind of grotesque.
"I mean, like in terms of an animal. Can we keep her as a pet?" Ethel asked yet another crazy question.
As we were all focused on her, the monster tried to slip away while also slicing my neck, which was a big mistake as I quickly grabbed her leg and yanked her back.
"If she has like a smaller form, sure. But how are we supposed to keep her as a pet when she's so big? That's also kind of… kinky-" Nuala muttered but was quickly cut off by Ethel pinching her arm.
"Not everything has to be sexual," She muttered as Nuala glared at her for… the rest of the night.
"Your strength has increased by a ton after your evolution! So stop doing that!" Nuala shouted before kicking the monstrous woman a few times and returning to our hotel.
The spider-like woman was practically a clown dancing between us as she was just used as a punching bag while we decided what to do with her.
"I prefer just killing her. The XP is phenomenal, and I'm so close to evolving… Though, I don't know about you other girls," I said, but it was apparent nobody but myself was close to evolving… so it came down to an unnecessary vote.
It was close, but we decided to keep the woman as a pet since she could shrink into this small fluffy tarantula that Ethel took a liking to.
She fit snug in her palm, and after showing it to Athena… she slapped her hand and hid behind the couch.
"What~ Isn't she cute?" Ethel said, noticing a weakness in her girlfriend's stoic and always serious attitude.
"Get that disgusting thing out of here! If you don't throw that out right this instant, then you're sleeping on the couch once we get a proper room by ourselves!"
"Oh, come on~ She's not that bad. Look, she likes to be scratched on the belly and her head," Ethel said.
The tarantula did look like she was enjoying it as a small smile could be seen on her face… but that was beside the point.
"Ugh! Fine! But keep that thing away from me!" Athena shouted before hiding under her covers but still eyeing the small tarantula practically staring her down.
It was a tense time that night…
…
For the next few days, we worked on taking down the web with the help of the tarantula since the amount of mana infused into the webs would've blown the state to pieces if tampered with incorrectly.
And surprisingly, the tarantula didn't give us any false information, but it was at the cost of a few head pats and scratches on her belly.
"It has only been a day, and you've tamed it already… geez," I muttered as I glanced down at the monster.
She was clearly just a lackey since her power was subpar, even for somebody sent out by the ruler of the monster's paradise.
"Tarantula, return to your human form. I need to ask you something," I said, but the tarantula ignored me as she just kept snuggling up against Ethel's chest.
But, with a cold and piercing gaze, she quickly returned to her normal form.
She was probably about a few inches taller than me, and her form was more humanoid than expected.
She still had four arms and six eyes, but if you erase the extras, plus the legs on her back, she looked pretty normal.
"W-What is it?" She asked me, holding onto Ethel's shirt like she was her daughter.
"Give us all the information you have on the monster's paradise. And by everything, I mean everything,"
All the girls slowly perked up their ears, and the room fell silent.
"Y-You're making me nervous," The woman slightly giggled before glancing up at Ethel.
"Well, I want to hear as well," She said with a smile.
"Wuuuuu… Fine," She muttered.
