The Rise of Quetzalcoatl

Chapter 207: Tundra Snake Gladiator (2)

I need more information before I can act rashly though as I only have a few pieces of intel I can use.

First of all, the knights overseeing me can't kill me but I'm sure they have a limit to how much bullshit they can put with.

Then… there is the fact that I can gain a reward by killing other gladiators.

"Interesting…" I muttered.

For a few days, I just sat in the cell, talking to my maid as it seems nobody was coming to check up on me besides the few times I got some terrible meals.

Occasionally, I heard the cheers of the audience outside and the roars of what seemed to be beasts getting slain or slaying their foes.

"So… Mistress… What are you going to do from here?" My maid asked as she played with an icicle in between her fingers.

"I'll just gather more information as I've now been labeled as a traitorous wench. That's most likely what I've become within the records of this kingdom, meaning I have no future here… But it's not like I'm planning to stay in this dungeon forever,"

"I'm well aware… Also, Mistress, may I ask if you think the other girls have gotten sucked into this dungeon or if it is just you?"

"They're most likely not here because we normally can't communicate with the hivemind if one of us is in a dungeon while the other is not,"

"I see…"

Another few days passed and finally, I had received a match and even an anonymous sponsor that gave me another bracelet that boosted my magical power.

But, the boost was tiny compared to my already humongous magic stat, so in reality, it wasn't going to help me much.

"AND NEXT WE HAVEEEEE! THE TRAITOROUS WENCH AGAINST! THE ONE AND ONLYYYYYYYY… ZARDOOOOOO!"

This time, my opponent was a man dressed in similar tattered brown prisoner attire but what he had on his head was a helmet with a few wings sprouting out the sides.

It was a dull gold with rusty patterns crawling all around it, making it feel as if this was something excavated from an ancient time.

But, if you looked closer, you could see the layers of blood that created this rust and the dull gold was just a by-product of so much mana and blood condensing.

I've only seen a few articles on it but when blood and mana come in contact with each other, a strange magical reaction happens.

Not a chemical reaction but a magical reaction as the main reactant is magic.

When blood comes in contact with pure mana created by the highest tiers of mages, then it creates a dull gold color that displays the fusion of blood and mana.

It's more like an achievement and something to flaunt rather than something that actually powers you up.

CLANK… CLANK… CLANK…

The chains had dropped from both of us and as we stared each other down, sparks of bloodlust and killing intent began to fly through the arena.

People cheered me on but there were also some people who booed me… probably meaning is a betting system that people can try and gain money from.

I'll add that to my stash of information.

"I want to end this quickly," The man said while eyeing my bracelet and after seeing that he wanted it, I decided to use his goal against him.

[Gravity Press]

A light purple tinge enveloped his entire body and as he clicked his tongue, he took a step forward… and it was so slow you'd think he was trying to fool me.

It was evident that was panicking now because he clearly thought that I was just a battle mage and as I was part mage my strength and defense were lower, meaning the gravity press on me earlier was nothing much.

He clearly underestimated the skill after seeing me, the perfect all-rounder, brush it off as if it was nothing.

"So you're just a mage, huh," I muttered, a bit disappointed but wanted to see what he could do as he was currently conjuring a spell… very slowly of course.

A large magic circle appeared behind him and it was completely pitch black, contrasting to everything else that was white around us.

The magic circle then split into many more, eventually covering the entire inside of the barrier and from what it looked like, I couldn't dodge this.

"Well, guess I gotta end it," I muttered and I flashed stepped toward the man and just as the magic circle began to light up with a purple glow, I reached into his chest and pulled out his heart.

It was still beating for a few seconds before finally realizing it had no more blood flowing into it, causing him to drop dead almost instantly.

[10 XP]

The XP was disappointing but it's not like I could do anything with it, so I just shrugged it off and let the attendees of the colosseum restrain me before bringing me back to my cell.

"Seems she's not here today," I muttered.

A few weeks had passed and I had a long streak of taking care of so many small fry that I was getting extremely bored.

Even with my maid, I couldn't resist the urge to just take a lousy nap in the middle of enemy territory.

But, it's not like I haven't been trying to actually gain information on this city and the people… but even that process was super boring.

It all started probably last week when I woke up to the sight of a few rats crawling next to me and my maid shivering in fear in the corner of the room.

She clearly didn't like rats so I disposed of them but with my large brain, I took advantage of these things by turning them into my own undead summons.

After connecting with their eyes a few times to make sure I still had it in me, I then sent them off through the prison bars and allowed them to kill any more rats.

They would bring the corpses back to me which I would then use [Necromancy] on, expanding my army of undead rats.

Eventually, they brought back small animals like snow foxes and snow rabbits which I also turned into my own undead.

Though, some of these were caught as their slightly darker snow-white color stood out when escaping the colosseum.

Plus, their smell was putrid.

Besides the few failed attempts, everything else has been going pretty well as I've now mapped out the entire colosseum in my systems map feature.

I had also gained information on tons of the gladiators being held in their own personal cells, away from everybody else.

"*yawn*... Come on, give me a strong one," I muttered, and as if the gods themselves heard me, a few attendees of the colosseum had come to take me to the arena.

I let them do their thing but this time, I placed on the helmet I had received from that one dude who underestimated the gravity magic.

I was hoping to achieve some more armor and maybe complete an entire armor set because the need for protection has been clear.

Even the small fry's have been landing small scratches on my skin and thankfully, none of them have scarred, but some might in the future.

"AND TODAYYYYY! IN THE GRAND COLOSSEUM WE HAVE! A VERY SPECIAL GUEST! THE EMPRESS OF THE TUNDRA SNAKE EMPIRE!" The announcer shouted and this time, I got a good look at her.

A beautiful slender body with soft, pale-white skin, her eyes looked exactly like the moon, with the small craters and tender, bright white light constantly being emitted from them.

Her silky white hair was long and flowed against her grand dress that obviously was meant to tell everybody that she ruled this place.

Ice blue scales crawled up her neck delicately and they also lathered themselves on her arms and legs, creating patches of sturdy armor that seemed impenetrable to any outside forces.

And finally her crown… damn, that fucking crown.

It was so extra and large that it was obvious she had it made just to be this fucking extra.

Soon, we had eye contact but it was at the worst time since I was laughing my ass off at how big her crown actually was.

But, she didn't take any offense to it surprisingly and just gave me a usual cold glare, as if she was looking down on an ant.

So… Let's put some of my rats inside the room there… and then we'll have some of them infiltrate her transportation.

"AND NOW! THE BATTLE YOU HAVE ALL BEEN WAITING FORRRRRR! THE TRAITOROUS WENCH! VERSUSSSSSS! THE KING OF SWORDPLAY!" The announcer now shouted at the beginning of the match.

And once our chains had been removed, in an instant, the man appeared in front of me.

"Oh my… You can't make such an obvious move in the beginning of the match,"
