Maybe the center of it, but judging from the power, everything else within this arena should be crushed.
"GODDAMMIT!" I heard the man shout as he began to pour more mana into the black hole, surprisingly eating more of the glacier.
Then, in an instant, the glacier smashed on top of us, creating a bone-crunching sound that echoed through the arena.
"A-AND! BOTH FIGHTERS HAVE DIED! THE TRAITOROUS WENCH TOOK HER AND THE SHADOW OF DEATH OU-, WAIT! WHAT DO WE HAVE HERE!?"
"Huff… Huff… Huff…"
I slowly stood up while littering in wounds from the exploding glacier that had turned into multiple shards upon colliding with the ground.
Blood dripped from each and every limb while my torso had been almost torn open by one large laceration.
I tried to take him down with me?! Did you see what he did at the end?! Who knew he could do that?!
Just as the glacier was right above our hands, the man created a blade of shadows that I could've easily dodged if it wasn't for the fact that it pulled me towards it.
It was like a concentrated blackhole, but it was also created at the expense of his life since he just dropped limply as soon as he created it.
"But, I'm glad I'm still alive," I muttered with a weary smile.
The announcer did his thing, and though I was a bit suspicious as to how he took the third spot, I wasn't going to complain.
Well, he had that black hole, but if you had any terrain-type magic, you could literally just tie yourself down and then attack from afar.
Well, I guess there was also that singular blade of darkness which-, ah, everything is going blurry…
I fainted.
…
I awoke back inside of a familiar room with a familiar person, and as I slowly shuffled out of bed, I noticed my legs had been wrapped in bandages.
"You tore pretty much everything in your legs while trying to tie yourself down. You probably didn't feel it due to the adrenaline, but the muscles in your legs were practically screaming for you to stop,"
"Oh, Cora, what are you doing here?" I asked after noting down her explanation.
"I got my ass beat by the second-ranked. Thankfully he was merciful enough to spare me. Otherwise, I would've been dead long ago," Cora responded as she lay on her bed while fidgeting with her chubby, casted fingers.
"Heh… Well, good for you… Why are they pairing us with gladiators at much higher ranks? Do they just want to see a beat down now?" I asked, and Cora just shrugged.
"I guess… Who knows what the colosseum is ever planning. It's so goddamn annoying how unpredictable they are," She muttered through gritted teeth.
I was a bit confused as to why she was a bit angry though I didn't feel like asking cause I didn't know. She was really scary right now.
She was like Mia when she got mad. Silent but deadly, and I'd say she was much more deadly than Mia.
Actually, that's kind of an unfair comparison because Cora focuses on fighting while Mia focuses on illusions and support rather than fighting.
That isn't to say she's weak, but Cora is just much more experienced and deadlier than her as of now… as of now.
…
The next day, a strange event occurred… there were absolutely no matches that day, and I doubt it was because of a break.
I mean, every position here has shifted, and if they didn't follow that shift, then I guess the colosseum could be closed down, but that was a rare occurrence.
"You're right, it is a rare occurrence, and it isn't time for any holidays… So, that can only mean one thing… Something happened outside of the colosseum," Cora said.
"What do you think it is?" I asked.
"Hmmmmmm… Well, there have been signals of war, so-"
BAM
All of a sudden, a sharp pain with the sound of the door swinging open began to meld in my mind, and soon, I felt a bag get placed over my head.
I didn't fully lose consciousness whether that be due to one of my immunities or just my constitution as a monster.
I was placed on a carriage with a few other gladiators, and we were taken down a rocky road in pitch-black darkness.
The inside of the carriage or, I guess, the cart was dark, but the cloth bag was slightly see-through… I also had my other senses, but that wasn't necessary right now.
They also felt kind of stuffy, as if something was suppressing it, meaning only one thing.
We had been kidnapped and drugged by the water we received…
I wasn't very scared but more excited to see where I would be taken next since I was getting a bit tired of the colosseum.
Don't get me wrong, improving my skills was a major plus, but this eventually began to not become fun as I faced harder and harder opponents.
Bullying the weak isn't the best of things, but it's pretty fun, so I don't really care.
After traveling down a bumpy road for what seemed to be half a day, the cloth bag had finally been removed from my head, and a large man placed a metal collar around my neck.
It was so air-tight from my neck that I felt like I needed to throw up as it pressed into me.
Some of the gladiators weren't safe from this, and as they puked up their stomach contents, they were beheaded almost instantly.
What… the hell.
As we were escorted out of the dark carriage, we arrived at a tall palace of ice where sparkling particles slowly rained down on us.
In the distance, a fiery tree pierced the clouds and what tangled around it was a massive snake that had the head of a dragon.
My confusion only increased after seeing this, but after running into the empress, I had a slight grasp of the situation.
Hmmm… So there is war. Cora was right.
